Shimmerpelt finished washing Lillykit's face, curled up around her kits, and fell asleep.

And after her conversation with Nightpaw Crimsonpaw decided she best go and curl up in her nest for the night.

Snowystream walked up and heard the two cats conversation."Hello you two.Shouldn't you be in bed?"She looked up at the sky."Sure is pretty to look at and I know Starclan is gazing back.They might not need sleep but I know two who do."SHe gave a stern playful look to Nightpaw and Crimsonpaw."Go on and in the morning we'll take out a patrol, ok?"

Leafheart padded away from her apprentice realizing she was talking to Crimsonpaw.

Mosspelt padded into the nursery and looked around, there had been five healthy litters of kits this New-Leaf, and she was estatic about it. As she wistfully gazed around at the kits she wondered where Moonstar was, she had noticed him sneaking off earlyer and wasn't sure where he had gone. She quickly gave the kits a clean bill of health, all except for Shatteredkit, the little she-cat was pitiful, and Mosspelt was worried that she might have Greenchough, or worse, Black. Quickly scouping the kit up she turned to the queens and meowed,"I belive that Shatteredkit has Greenchough or worse, I recomend that you wash you kits thoroughly before letting them sleep tonight." Padding out she wispered to Shallowstream,"I'll do all I can, but even I can't garente that this little kit isn't being called to join Starclan tonight." She left the queen with her other kits and took the little bundle into her den. This is going to be a long night...

Shallowstream had followed Mosspelt's orders and was now franticlly pacing back and forth across the nursery. Shatteredkit was all that she could think of, and she worried that it might be her fault. Padding over to her kits she licked each one gently then started pacing again, growling faintly. These were her kit's how dare Greencough choose one of her first litter. Slowly she dragged herself back to her kits, but her scared demenor alerted everyone to Shatteredkit's absence.

Mistykit tried vainly to comfort her mother, but she knew that no one could stop her worry, all of her sisters and brothers were scared that Shatteredkit wouldn't make it through the night.
Frostkit slowly looked up at his mother, he was the youngest of the kits, but he was also the largest, he voiced their fears,"Will Shatteredkit be alright?"
Oakkit nipped his brother lightly, this was no time to be asking about Shatteredkit, he knew that his mother was hurting inside. He quickly prayed to Starclan that his sister would be alright.
Pondkit was curled in the corner, her ears twitched at Frostkit's words, but she made no comment. As the smallest of the litter she never really spoke up, quiet inoccense was her standard. The warriors never belived her siblings when they said that she had done something mean, even when she had. She quietly played a game of hide and seek.
Shatteredkit felt Mosspelt take her from her siblings and her mother, but there was nothing she could do to stop the Medicine Cat. Her helpless body was racked with coughes and she wasn't sure that she knew anything about the cat saving her, just that she trusted her. Softly sighing to herself she wispered,"Thankyou Mosspelt," Before drifting off into a healing sleep.

Shallowstream fed her kits quickly and began pacing the nursery agian, suddenly she stopped and turned to the other cats meowing desperatly,"Is Rustheart nearby, I need him!" She glanced over to Leafheart and meowed quietly,"Will you please go get him?"
Rustheart padded across the stream carrying fresh kill, the pile would be well stocked with the two voles, squirrle, chaffinch and rabbit that he and the patrol would be adding to it. Suddenly he thought of Shallowstream and began to walk faster, but stayed at a slow rate, as they had all been hunting for a long time and couldn't go on forever.

Nightkit padded out of the warriors den after thanking Tearstorm. Her ears were back slightly, as she sat at the entrance of the camp. "Mom..," she mewed softly.
Solarkit sat washing himself, his ears pricked forward. The rays made it sparkle and shine brilliantly.
Flashkit heard Shallowstream, and then rushed out of camp. He frantically started looking for Rustheart, his kit ears forward. Mewing a little he called out,"Rustheart!"

Rustheart heard the kit and nearly dropped his freshkill, Shallowstream would die if she found out that one of Nightshadow's kits had come into the forest looking for him. Quickly setting the freshkill down he looked down at the kit,"Slow down Flashkit, what's wrong?"
Shallowstream continued pacing every moment seemed to bring more adgitation to the she-cat, she pelted from the nursery and began to pace around the camp, not caring which cats she disturbed. She hardly noticed when she tred on Snowystream's tail, or tripped over Solarkit, she merely mumbled a quick sorry and continued her track around the camp.

Flashkit's fur puffed out proudly. "Shallowstream wants you now, so I went out to go look for you," he mewed, explaining his actions. "No one else went looking so I decided to myself. I'd hurry if I were you." His ears twitched slightly amazed at the fresh-kill that Rustheart was carrying.
Solarkit let out a mew of surprise when Shallowstream tripped over him. His ears went back slightly, as he bolted off racing and then climbing up a tree. From there, he stared down at Shallowstream, a little indignantly.
Nightkit climbed up a different tree, and sat staring at the sky. "Mom...,"she mewed once more. "How I want to know everything about you."

Tearstorm leaves Nightshadow's three kits and pads to where Shallowstream is, knowing she really needs help now. "Shallowstream." She meows in a deep voice as she enters the nursery.

Shimmerpelt got up. "Leafheart could you watch my kits for a bit?" she mewed to her
friend and padded out of the nursery to her daughter.
She sat down next to her and gently licked her between the ears.
A tear rolled down her cheek. All this made her think of Rainkit, Shallowstream's sister who had died at birth.
Lillykit crawled over to Shallowstream's kits. She hated to see other cats so sad.
