Lark sniffed and nodded against his chest still upset but ready to go home, if only to get some small amount of peace with the pain that was still coursing through her. The Prince stopped his pacing for a moment and looked at his mother. "I could take her into the fae realm, its like you said mother those stupid mutts have forgotten all about us and they'll never find the portal in time."

The fae woman nodded. She had taken over the place of her family years ago. Whisking away the girl's parents. Making an elaborate story. Supplying proof. Slowing messing with the human's psych. Now it was all flushing down the stream. Tatiana's dream of ruling more than just their small realm. To feast and play with human pets as much as possible, rather than the small tidbits that wandered into their circles. She slapped the table and the table started to burn under her hand. "It seems that's the only choice. But be careful. We can't afford to leave more than the barest of traces." she said. She looked at the charred hand print and sighed. "I hate it when thing do go smoothly." she said, waving her hand over the spot. The table shimmered, and looked once again perfect.
Devon nodded. "We'll figure this out." he said, and moved back behind the wheel of the car. He started the engine and looked back at her house. The hairs on his neck stood on end but he shrugged it off, believing it was because of his anger. "I don't know if you believe me, Lark. But I don't think you should have to earn you mother's love. If she was a good mother she would love you no matter what." he said, and pulled out of the drive way. With the roar, the engine accelerated the vehicle quickly down the road.

Lark nodded calming down some getting buckled in before Devon hit the gas and took. "I do believe you Devon, I do but I don't know what else to do, I've tried everything else." Lark said sadly looking down avoiding eye contact with him. Prince Aiden sighed heavily running his hands through his hair exasperated at it all. "You know you do have to wonder though mother, how did she manage to find them or that matter how did they find her."

"Perhaps we weren't the only one to find her. They are stealthy creatures. One might have been watching her and took interest. That or she found them, which I find highly unlikely." she responded. "It's a moot point.

"Your right mom, what matters now is that should that mutt be my fur coat or my rug." The Prince said cackling evilly at his own sick little joke. already thinking of a plan.

Tatiana smiled. "All in good time, Darling. All in good time." she said with a grin.
Devon pulled into his house and guided Lark inside. He waved off his parents for a little while, instead going up to the bedroom with her to talk for a bit in private.

Lark gave a half hearted smile painfully aware of the difference between her family and hers the thought broke her heart all over again as she hurried with Devon to her room where she wanted nothing more than to curl up in a small ball and cry herself to sleep but she couldn't not yet she still had talk to Devon even though she was a emotional wreak at the moment. Kaleb had got the feeling that something was wrong he had felt that ever since he came charging home few hours ago, some was very wrong he knew Theresa had felt it too because she began to get antsy, he barely registered that Devon and Lark was home, and something serious was going on with them but before he could ask the two hurried toward her room.

Devon pulled her into his arms again, rocking her until she calmed herself somewhat. It was at least ten minutes before he spoke. "So. How are we going to do this?" he asked. "We've made quite a mess haven't we?"
Theresa touched her husband on the should. "I think we should go talk to them now. Whatever happened I think we should know everything." she said, nervous. "Did you see how crushed Lark looked? You'd think the girl had been beaten."

Lark found herself crying on Devon yet again unable to stop, everything hurt so much right now, a question that had been in her heart ever since she was small passed through her mind again, Why doesn't my love me? She took the comfort Devon was giving her gratefully but she only calmed slightly. Kaleb looked his wife with a small frown. "Of she has you saw her pass out earlier tonight when she heard the news, and from what Devon told us before this woman is one of the main reasons Lark is so broken now, it doesn't seem like a good idea to go in there and demand what happened when both are very emotional." The older wolf stated running his hand through his hair

Theresa rubbed her eyes. "I know.... I know." she murmured. "But did you feel that? My hair stood on end when they came in. It didn't feel like those two." she said. "I don't like this at all." She looked at the stairs leading up to the bedroom. "Poor girl." she sigh. She felt sick at heart seeing her that way.
Devon could see they wouldn't sort this out tonight. So Devon lay down and held Lark close, rubbing her back and letting her sob. He felt increasingly distressed at seeing her this way. He had thought he had helped her get past this. That woman Alice had torn up that progress in mere seconds. What was she?

Kaleb sighed to he knew how close his mate had gotten to the human girl, he had to admit he had a fondness for the girl himself but she would always clam up around both of them as if she was afraid to get close to them or something was stopping her, knowing her history it was easy to see why. Kaleb just held his wife close and tried to ease drop but to no avail. Lark after awhile cried herself out but still found her self shaking with the force of her misery even though she was trying to stop it knowing she was hurting Devon as well as her self she just couldn't bottle in her misery anymore like she used to and it was so much worse then it was in the past. Lark breathed deep hating her self for what she did tonight, she put Devon in a position that he had to reveal his secret, and she hurt him by accepting a date with another man that she didn't know or even like and worst still her mother doubted her and now she had to prove herself to her. Her chest felt heavy, with sadness."I'm sorry Devon so sorry." she said quietly into the darkness unable to met his golden gaze.

Devon kissed the top of her head. "I know. It's not your fault. I don't blame you for any of this." he said softly into the dark room. "You shouldn't need to prove yourself to her, or earn her love." he told her once again. "I can feel how much you love her, but you shouldn't make yourself miserable for her sake."

Lark sighed deeply shaking her head against his chest. "That's the Problem, only you know how I feel about my mother she doesn't and that's why I have to prove myself to her, I know I shouldn't have too but I have to, she's the only family I have." Lark sniffed almost sobbing all over again.

Devon held her tight. He wanted so bad for her to see it wasn't true. "I may not be you husband yet, but I love you and my parents have practically adopted you.... Well mom has anyway." He ran his hands through her hair. "Then there is the pack. And Pack is family in all but blood. However, if you really want to do this. Perhaps I can help you?" He thought perhaps he could help her get closure.

Lark felt the tears start up again even though she thought she cried herself out, it seemed that she still had some left in her after all. "Devon, you know that's not true your parents and the pack only accepts me because of you without you they wouldn't other wise." Lark took a deep breath and she had to word her next answer carefully least he get the wrong idea, she didn't want to hurt him again this offer must have been hard on him and he must have been hiding well. "Yes I have to do this, and if it isn't to much I could really use your help."
