Tarik grinned. "Yes. He is an amazing person. He was young when I was with him, but I knew he would become someone great. He used to be so insecure, but I promised him that I would rule by his side. I can't wait to return and see the look on his face." Tarik told Angela. He just needed to prove to Angela that she was wrong, then take her back to Egypt and then have the wedding. But he needed to learn how to read first.

"Troublemakers? Well they should grow up to be strong then. To have the strength to cause trouble indicates bravery." Tarik said. And it was a good thing she liked cats because Tarik wasn't sure what to do if she didn't since his home in Egypt was full of them.

Tarik leaned closer to Angela as she read, taking in the words and trying to analyze them. As usual, Dr. Seuss was a genius and was rhyming already. Tarik wished to do that someday. "Rainy days are always terrible." He didn't like them very much before he was cursed, but now he just hated them because his arms were prone to falling off more easily."

"I--it's frequently rainy in my country," Angela said quietly. "I...like it." She chewed her lip. She set the book aside and looked up at Tarik. He was leaning closer so she easily slid her arms up around his neck, pulling his head down to her shoulder as she hugged him.

"I'm sorry," she told him. "I know you don't believe me about how long you slept. I know that but...I'm so sorry. I am just sorry." She really didn't know what else to say. The more he talked about his home, the more horrible she felt. And then she felt horrible for feeling guilty because wasn't it better for him to be awake instead of in that limbo? And then he was determined to marry her and that promise was probably the only thing he had left from his previous life and she was rejecting it and that made her feel guilty on top of everything else.

Augh! This was so hard. She couldn't honestly say she thought it would be better for him to have continued sleeping forever because that seemed like a terrible fate. But he was going to go through so much pain when he finally had to accept the truth. "I promise I'll be here to help you whenever you need it," she told him. It wasn't much but it was just about all she had to offer. She could at least make sure he learned to live in this world and help him accept things as they were since it was her fault he was here in the first place.

Tarik was kind of listening to her since he was just waiting for her to go on with the story when she was suddenly hugging him. Tarik frowned. What!? Normally he would be angered by her impertinence, but her words were very... not impertinent? It was confusing! She was acting as if there was something sad happening? "Does... does the cat in the hat die in the story?" Tarik asked. "There is no reason to be sorry for that, Angela."

He was starting to get a little uncomfortable and was trying to pull Angela off since this was confusing him a lot. She was acting like something tragic was happening and he didn't know how to handle a woman that just threw her arms around him without his consent. Normally he would take such a woman as a whore and shove her off into mud or something, but Angela definitely was not a whore!

"Help me? What is there to help me with? You are already teaching me how to read. You are very odd sometimes, Angela." Tarik said to her.

Angela sighed, exasperated. He was so stubborn and dense. And she figured that was going to make it all the more difficult for him to accept things. "That isn't it," she told Tarik, easing her grip on him when she felt him trying to pry her off of him. But she held onto his head making sure he kept looking at her. "I know you don't understand why I'm saying this right now. And that's fine, because you'll understand later. So just remember that I'll be here, alright?"

She released him and picked up the book again. "And don't worry. Faeries are notorious for being a bit eccentric. I'm sure offering to help you isn't the oddest thing you're ever going to see me doing."

Angela opened the book again and turned back to the page they were on before. "Alright. Here we go. Try to follow along," she told him. "Too wet to go out and too cold to play ball. So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all. So all we could do was to Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! And we did not like it. Not one little bit."

He didn't want to break her, but this was a very uncomfortable position. It should be the man holding the woman, not the woman holding the man. This wasn't right at all. Tarik gave up anyways because he just couldn't shove Angela off him. Normally he would just throw a woman down if she forced a hug on him, but he was a bit fond of her. A bit. Just a bit.

"I'll remember." Tarik said, just to get her off him. She finally let go and was about to continue the reading. She mentioned something about faeries. He paused. She was... a faerie? So she wasn't entirely human? Well, he did understand that when she started making electricity appear, but... to think he would marry something not human...

His beloved was his beloved! He will accept Angela. At least she isn't a witch! She started to read and Tarik settled down again with listening. "Ah. How tragic! Children should be more active. Is the rain really that bad? I had to live through quite worse in my childhood. The rain must be the work of a witch's curse perhaps." Tarik said with a frown.

"well, I suppose it depends on where you are," Angela said. "In my country--which is called England--it tends to be rather cold. So rainy days are cold and dreary. Children would probably need to stay indoors. It's not all bad, though. England is a lush country--lots of trees and plants and rivers and streams. Quite different from Egypt, really."

"So I don't think rain is caused by a curse." She paused and grinned slightly. Since he just loved it when she talked a lot, she might as well...

"Actually, the rain cycle is a completely normal process. Water falls from the sky as rain, then the sun causes it to evaporate--that means it turns into a vapor--and it travels back to the sky where it becomes clouds. And once enough water vapor is accumulated in the clouds, which is called coalescence, it rains back to the earth," she explained. "No witch curses involved.

So he was kind of listening to what she was telling him. She talked about England and how it was cold and kids had to stay indoors. Trees and plants. Different from Egypt. Rain not being caused by a curse. And Tarik really had to commend himself for actually listening to all this and then she said rain cycle and more words and Tarik just kind of stopped since he kind of reached his limit of listening capacity.

How odd that only when she was reading that he was really able to listen to her. In a sense it was kind of because she was reading to him the words of a man. A brilliant man who can rhyme words at ease and know the nature of exotic animals that didn't really exist. And has even perhaps met a talking cat that could stand and walk and wear a hat.

"Oh." Tarik said to Angela, just to humor her. And time started to get to him again and he realized that he had failed at his duty for Rosentale. Angela was a student right? "We have dallied here too long! I fear you have missed your class!" Tarik said with a frown as he got up quickly upon hearing the bell that indicated free period. "Normally I should be giving you a detention for this crime... but I was a culprit as well so..."

It felt so corrupt. He should give himself a detention too. For the time being he should just let it slide. Just this once. "This will be the last time I will permit the skipping of class." Tarik said with a nod. It was Angela's fault for not reminding him. Yes. That was definitely the case.

Angela smirked slightly as she stood and stretched. "Well, I'm sure it'll be alright. I'll speak with professor Volce about it--we were firing off rockets we constructed anyway so it shouldn't be too difficult to make up the lesson. Besides, there's this really annoying boy in that class." She made a face. "Oh, right--you met him in the library. Vincent." Then again, perhaps he was hit by a train or something. That would save her the trouble of strangling him personally.

She elbowed Tarik lightly in the stomach. "And that's for not listening to me. I hope you realize I can tell when you tune me out. You get this vacant stare," she told him, waving a hand in front of her eyes. She rolled her eyes at him, stooping to grab her own things before handing over his book, smiling slightly. "Thank you, Tarik. For cheering me up and...distracting me from my problems for a bit. And for offering to protect me, even if you took it back right away," she teased.

She sighed slightly, her smile vanishing as she thought about how she was going to have to deal with the problem with Abel. Even if Tarik had distracted her for a bit, it's not as if that issue was really solved. Eurgh. She didn't want to think about that.

"Well, I'll let you get back to work," she told him, giving him a forced smile. She started away, turning back to glance at him. "Good luck with not permitting me to skip class again. But just a word of warning, I'm already planning to skip fifth period!"

Before he could reply, she headed back into the school to find a place to hide for the rest of the day.

Tarik blinked. Uh... who was she talking about? Well, Tarik couldn't remember every single soul in the world. He knew he was great and that a lot of people knew his name, but there was only one Tarik and could only remember so much people. So Tarik didn't know who this Vincent was.

"Oof." Tarik said, mainly out of surprise when she elbowed his stomach. Eh? How did she know that he wasn't listening to her. Taking the book from her hands, a little dumbfounded, but trying so hard not to show it. However, there was an odd fluttering feeling in his chest when she thanked him and told him that he had successfully cheered her up. Of course he did, his presence should always cheer her up! But her thanks was warming. Tarik got up and grinned at Angela. "Of course I will always protect you! I didn't really take it back. Just it was- anyways! Your thanks has been acknowledged."

It wasn't like Tarik had much work but he should probably go patrol the area. He frowned when Angela said she was already planning to skip a period. "It is my duty to give out detentions to those who skip! They are terrible. Do not do it. I advise you not to!" No wife of his is a criminal! Angela, do not do it! Detentions sound like a terrible and foreboding word! Who knew what could happen to her in detention!

But alas. She had already gone. Tarik sighed. He'll... he'll just hope for the best.

Percy plopped down underneath a large shady tree that was positioned quite near the school, just off to the right of the main walkway in fact. He stretched and yawned widely, enjoying the mild spring day while he could. Despite it being the weekend, he didn't feel the need to go dashing off to the mall, or a cafe, or something of the sort. No, Percy wasn't really one to go trapesing off on an adventure by himself, but rather the kind of person to sit and enjoy the scenery on a nice day... or you know, play video games, one or the other.

He smiled drowsily, gazing up at the sky through the leaves above his head, patterns of filtered sunlight dancing across his face as he felt his eyelids get heavy. He wasn't one to fall asleep in public places, but there wasn't anyone around... and it was so peaceful...

He leaned back against the trunk of the tree, feeling the smooth bark press up against his spine as he drifted off to sleep...

Saeslin was pretty unfamiliar with the grounds at Rosentale. Mostly because he had been holed up in his workshop since his arrival and hadn't spent any time actually outside. He knew how to get to his dorm, and how to get to the cemetery. But he was currently testing out a new invention of his (little clockwork automaton birds) and needed to be outside where there was space enough to fly them.

While there were more advanced flying machines in this place, these were meant to be more of an atomically correct approximation of a real bird--but all in metal and gears.

He had just gotten one off the ground and it was going along rather well when he heard something inside go wrong--it sound like a spring had come loose. The bird shuddered and started to plummet toward a tree--and the person sleeping beneath it.

"Oh dear..." he said. "Um...W-watch out!!" He started running toward the boy, hoping the bird would miss him--or at least not do serious damage if it struck him.

Percy stirred, his eyes slowly opening as he awoke from his peaceful slumber. He had been dreaming about knights and princesses, fantasy worlds and creatures that he now knew to be real. He had just picked up a magical sword... or something, and heard someone in the distance tell him to watch out for something... he couldn't quite remember. The dream was already fading away. He looked up drowsily to see a blonde haired man with large spectacles running towards him. Odd, why was he doing tha-

There was a loud crunching noise as Percy was showered with what appeared to be little bits of metal. Gears, springs, shrapnel from a casing of some sort landed in his lap, on his shoulders, and in his hair. He jumped violently in surprise, feeing his body immediately snap out of being half asleep as adrenaline rushed through his veins. He scrambled away from the tree and spun to see what exactly was happening. It appeared that something had struck the tree mere inches above his head, the bark there was cut and bleeding, with some small scorch marks encircling the damage. Percy could feel his heart throbbing in his chest, and began to focus on slowing his breathing down. A few inches lower... and that would have happened to his head?

"Wha... wha?"

COLLEEN XING
"I'll take you with all that you are..
Your pains,
Your secrets,
Your past,
Your longings,
and dreams...."

❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖❖

Spring.. After being stressed out from her Art class.. Colleen decides to stroll outside the school and catch some nice and fresh air!. Good thing family week is postponed, which means she will be spending enpugh time planning where to hide once her mom pays her a visit. Also, includes running away from Llewelyn.. Out of nowhere she sighed, somehow, she would love to see Severin once in a while.. But, its already Spring.. Probably, he's having his sweet time mourning for Rui..

Somehow, she envied Rui.. Even though the girl is dead, looks like Severin won't dare to move on and even look at her.. Another sigh.. if this continues, she must do something to help him or better yet, knock her head several times, proclaim amnesia and might forget about this crazy martyrdom for the English professor..

While grasping the basket's handle with both hands, Colleen gently walks at the walkway. She heard voices and as a respond, Colleen glance at the corner and saw a student with a tall blonde man that she haven't seen before.. The boy is quite familiar, for she remembered seeing him as one of her students.. What was his name again?... ah! Percy! and about the random guy with him.. Who was he anyway? another sigh..

Maybe a new staff? Colleen sighed for the fourth time.. She's through meeting new teachers and it would be troublesome if she would pass and introduce herself.. Once more, she stared over the two.. But then, her eyes caught on the blonde stranger.. Oh.. He's wearing a pair glasses--- When suddenly, her cheeks turns to red..

'G-glasses??!'

Her heart starts to thump faster

Without exemptions..."

"Sorry!" Saeslin said. "I am dreadfully sorry about!" He reached Percy and knelt beside him, gathering up the parts that had gone flying. "Are you quite alright? I am sorry, truly. I fear the test flight went rather awry." The boy didn't seem hurt, thankfully. The bird had crashed just above his head so he'd probably avoided being injured but that had certainly been closer than Saeslin would have liked.

Perhaps he should have found a safer place to test the thing. That had been a very foolish error of judgement on his part. Someone could have been seriously hurt. As he reached to brush a few stray gears from the boy's head, Saeslin realized he was shaking quite badly. He withdrew his hands and offered the boy a tired smile. "Please forgive my negligence. I shouldn't have done a test flight where there were people. I mistakenly assumed there wouldn't be anyone on the grounds over the weekend."

"oh its fine. Its fine." Percy said shakenly. Yeah, its fine. He thought. Totally fine that you thought there wouldn't be any students on the grounds... aaand nearly took my head off. "It's fine!" He said, masking his utter shock with a wide smile. "Fine, yeah! I'm f-fine..."

He trailed off uncomfortably. What do you say to someone who inadvertedly, accidentaly almost hit you in the head with a mechanical bird? "Um... y-yeah, I'm not much of one for going out and about by myself, so I guess I just fell asleep here... er, yeah."
