Raolain sighed as again Cookie wizzed about his head, and closed the spellbook before tucking it away in the leather scrip over his shoulder. She apparently wasn't going to give him any time at all to study. He stopped walking and folded his arms into his sleeves as a monk might do, and waited a bit impatiently for Cookie to land on his shoulder again. But Cookie instead flew straight at his face, stopped at the last possible instant to hover in front of his eyes, a great big smile on her face and kicking her legs with childish glee,"And what is it you want now?" asked Raolain,"Oh wait, let me guess...you want to go and kill something...well if you haven't noticed there isn't much out here on the road. I suppose you could scare up a squirrel or a prairie dog or something if your oh so desperate, but make it quick."
Cookie laughed at that, an extremely high pitched musical sound like chimes,NononosillysillyIwanttokillsomethingbigbigbiglikethatoneovertherehahahahahahahayesyesthatonethatoneandthenwecangoeatcauseI'mhungrycanwegoeatnext?"
Raolain took a moment to filter through all her nonsense before realizing what she had just said,"Big? What big thing?" he turned and saw a figure on a horse overtaking him on the road, but none too quickly. Unlike his little counterpart Raolain didn't go out of his way to slay others for the fun of it, but meeting another on the road at this hour couldn't be good. Sighing again, as he had done often since bonding this annoying little fairy, Raolain turned and stepped to one side to allow the horseman to pass if he would. Cookie whooped with delight, perhaps thinking Raolain indeed intended to attack this fellow, and streaked into the cowl of his hood where she could watch and not be seen...

Jania was on her way back to the inn when she saw her apprentice out of his room. She considered going over to him and remind him that she was going to run him into the ground tomorrow and that he should rest now while he has the chance when she heard a man from across the street say rather loudly, "You never told me about a man who could recite silent incantations, Sai."
Jania muttered "Videor Iunior," and her 18 year old body was replaced by that of a 9 year old as she slipped through the crowd after her new apprentice and these interesting new companions.

Hmm... So he's noticed me, has he? Wonder what he'd say to a straight up fight. Or maybe I should simply do what I do best, and assassinate him...
Hayte said as he released his bound chameleon partner from his binding stone.
Spio agreed as he emerged into the world, already altering his coloration to make himself completely invisible.
Hayte rode along the path till he was next to the man in the black robes and then reined his horse to a stop. He glanced down at the man, though he still could not see his face.
"Hello. My name is Duhl. I wonder, would you care to engage in combat?" Hayte asked, ever polite.
Sai led the way into the pub, knowing that his friends would follow. He headed to a table far back in the corner of the room. With the rowdy sounds of many drunken people carrying on raucaus conversations a person would have to sit quite close to them to be able to overhear them. He took a chair to one side of the table, the one on the side away from the wall that the door was on. He waited fro his friends to seat themselves and then asked. "Alright, Kin, what do you want to know?"

Raidek followed Sai in, moving by the bar first, speaking with the bartender and handing him a small pouch. The bartender simply nodded, reaching under the bar and pulling a good sized bottle out from beneath the bar. Raidek smiled and headed over to the table Sai had picked out.
After sitting down, Raidek removed the cork, the smell of liquor pouring into the air around him. He smiled, bring the bottle up to his mouth on the broken side of his mask and took a long drink.
Mmmm...thats good stuff.
He set the bottle down on the table and waited for one of the two to start talking.

Raolain looked up at the fellow that introduced himself as Duhl, feeling a wry twist to his lips as he did so,"You wish to challenge me?" he asked incredulously, shaking his head in bewilderment,"If you really want to lose so badly, I'd be happy to take your pride." He felt Cookie shift inside his cowl and chuckled at something she whispered into his ear,"First things first, what are the stakes, and what rules do you wish to adhere to? I care very much for the former, and hardly at all which for the latter."

((Yo, Raolain, you gotta edit that post. This roleplay is past-tense only. You're whole last post is all present-tense right now...)) Hayte did not even change his expression from his usual cool confidence. If the man wanted to be arrogant, so be it. He would inform him of the error of his ways.
"50 coins. Limited Combat. Seven spells." Hayte said.
Spio asked.
Was all the response Hayte gave.((Alright, I'm going to introduce some currency in this roleplay. Since we're supposed to be fighting mages and making wagers and such. No worries for any of you, because I'm going to keep track of everything. You can also keep track if you'd like. Since I don't feel like going back and adding out everything that all of us have ever bought I'm going to say that everybody has 200c. c=coins. Coins will be our primary currency. Economy wise, we'll keep things similar to the present. I believe we are mostly U.S. and Canadian citizens, so our economies shouldn't be to different. 1c = 1 dollar, etc. Others are half coins, and quarter coins.))

((roger that. I really don't have a whole lot right now, but my posts will be getting longer as i go.))
Jania moved silently through the crowd and slipped into the pub. She really didn't care if she was noticed as long as wasn't noticed by her apprentice. Jania slipped off towards a table next to the table her apprentice had sat down at. She made sure to pick the table that would have her at her apprentices back as she didn't know if he would recognize her illusionist child form or not.

Kin sat down across from Sai. “I want to know what this person looks like and what kind of spells he used during the time you were in sight of him.” Kin spoke, his tone of voice quite interested and demanding. He paid no real attention to where he was or what was going on around him. This new news are very important to him.

Raolain inclined his head in a mocking half bow,"Well then, whenever your ready..." He backed up a few feet to allow his new found opponent to dismount, not bothering to hide the wry grin on his lips.
"Ooooofunfunfunthiswillbefunfunfunandhethinkshecan
bestyoubutwe'llshowhimohyeswewillwillwillyeeeeee!!!"Cookie shrieked with delight as she streaked out from under Raolain's cowl, orbiting his head like a blur before settling on his shoulder and propped her chin on her fists in a parody of a small child.

((giga, Jania, isn't going to hear anything unless she has some kind of spell to enhance and/or filter the sound, or unless she's sitting at the table right next to him.))
"I have no idea what he really looked like. He was wearing a head wrap and scarf like the rest of the guards. And the only spell he cast without an incantation was an explosion spell, it was pretty powerful though." Sai said, remembering how close he had come to being killed. "It was kinda terrifying. He cast without a sound, there was no warning. Really, it was a fluke that he missed me."
Next time, though, I'll be ready. I don't know how, yet, but somehow I'm gonna find a way to counter that mans power...
A fairy, huh. Better watch out for that speed...
Hayte said to his companion as he dismounted from his horse. Spio responded with a mental affirmative as he snuck down from the horse and along the ground.
Hayte led his horse to one side of the road and dropped the reins, the animal was well trained and would, unless scared away by the sounds of their upcoming battle, remain nearby and graze. Hayte walked back to the road and stood opposite the black clad man, who never had told him his name. Hayte produced a simple flat disk of metal that he kept for occasions such as these.
"I will flip this disk into the air. When it hits the ground we begin." He stated calmly and monotonously. Then he flipped the coin high into the air. A second later the disk came back down and bounced off the well worn path.

((No, since you two have been sporadic lately with classes and exams and all we've left the two of you in the inn alone. Everybody else, minus Raolain, are in a tavern just down the street from the in though.))

"Head wrap with a scarf and he used an explosion type spell..." Kin said quietly to himself, repeating the important details Sai had said. Kin looked down at his right hand that was encased in his gauntlet. His cat-like pupils narrowed more than they usually did as he sat in deep thought. His expression seemed more serious than it had ever been since he started traveling with Sai.
Well, since an explosion spell is all I have to go on, I will assume that the majority of his spells are fire based and perhaps wind with the combination of fire. Speed and power, but in result it gives a fairly large opening after you attack... It's a lot like how I fight, though the use of casting silently without giving any indication that you had cast a spell would be the one thing that would give him the edge against me. I would have to make up for it by having Vix hidden at all times and use him for a quick counter to match the incalculableness of a silent cast on each attack. But if I did that, it would seem like I would be on the defensive the entire battle... How is it possible to beat someone like that?
Kin's momentary pause ended, suddenly asking, "So, you didn't catch his name or anything either?" With much less tension than before. It seemed as if he had lost all interest in the subject very suddenly, though it was the complete opposite.

Raolain looked first at the disc on the ground, then sideways at Cookie on his shoulder, who likewise looked back and shrugged, giving a high pitched sigh of boredom and kicked her tiny feet idly,"So...." Raolain said," Is your horse supposed to be what Cookie is battling? If so you might want to bring it a bit closer..." he crossed his arms inside his sleeves, the sound of his foot tapping beneath his black robes audible.
