Though many labels are subjective, sane isn't entirely. Sure, we may all be insane to some extent, but there is some division. Sane, given the fact that humans are complex sentient social beings, would generally be classified as being supportive of and being able to live in a civilization.

Sanity, like reality, is relative and follows the unwritten and generally accepted rules/expectations of the world around us. If somebody does not follow those rules they are weird. If they have different expectations, then they are 'insane'.
