I.Give.UP! Drawing hands is the hardest thing I've ever tried to pick up in one long tutorial mad sad crying scream gonk cry I feel like a total failure D: I never want to see another hand EVER -looks down at hand- AAAAH! HANDDDD! RETREAT RETREAT! ITS FOLLOWING MEEEE!!! -chops off hand- AAAH THERES ANOTHER ONE D:

I.Give.UP! Drawing hands is the hardest thing I've ever tried to pick up in one long tutorial mad sad crying scream gonk cry I feel like a total failure D: I never want to see another hand EVER -looks down at hand- AAAAH! HANDDDD! RETREAT RETREAT! ITS FOLLOWING MEEEE!!! -chops off hand- AAAH THERES ANOTHER ONE D:
As always: practice. Hint: I usually draw hands well if it's realistic by studying my own hand, looking through medical books, and using basic shapes. 3nodding Everything goes back to basic shapes, I say. The world is a basic shape. heart Edit: On quickie-draws, I just makes sure that the hand looks like a hand. o.O Usually the fingers are pointed. xD As you can see from my watercolors on page five. :3Speaking of hands...-goes to find realistic hand I drew last year-

Found it! ;D Look ma; a human hand!I drew it during a conservatory class in our agenda book thing... sweatdrop 30 minutes of jazz is...rather boring. I got yelled at because I wasn't writing, though...meh... Edit: About the cat...er...I like cats? and my teacher was giving us cat stickers...I had nowhere to put it. xD

Looks better that way. -nod- The shading is darker in real life. e.e lol everything looks better smaller, I say. and I'm sure it looks great with darker shading, but light shading is my preference xD

I started to get better after I took the custom of taking pictures of my own hand in different positions. Now, when I want to draw a hand and I'm not sure how, I just pose with my hands and take a photo of it. Do you have a digital camera that you can use? If not, you can always stand in front of a mirror and study the poses.
