Ace walked over to the girl named Candy. "Yes?" he asked. He glanced at Zero he continued to give him a stare, one that didn't require words to know what it meant. He nervously turned his attention to Candy. Hopefully Zero would get over this soon enough, if not though Ace wasn't sure what would happen. What will happen...? Will they kill him...or let us go free?" he pondered.

Candy smiled as she turned to Ace. She handed him the vial that she was holding and looked deep into his cute eyes.
"This is a circulation soother," she explained softly. "Do not worry for it's appearance. If you give this to your friend, he will be able to move again." She opened the bottle and took a sip of it. Feeling relaxed, she breathed deeply and let out a sigh. "There is your proof that it is not poisoned. If he swallows the rest of this bottle, he should be able to walk in about five to ten minutes."
It was rather amazing that Candy could fit so many medicines in her cloak. However, she did have to hunt for more herbs when some went low. She figured that she had enough for a month, and wouldn't have to refill them anytime soon. That and she could also use her green magic to heal wounds.

Kai glanced over at Candy a bit annoyed. "Are you sure you want to waste that on a guy like him? We agreed to spare his life, but if we let him go too soon, what would happen? For all we know, he could go up and tell some of the larger fries where we are." Kai said grumpily, lowering Kotarou down near Taerel.
"If that's the case, we should have killed him? Theres plenty of places to hide the body around here." Tyo suggested, wearing a bright happy smile.
"How could you even be smiling after saying something like that!?" Kai shouted, shaking his fist. He sighed, and rolled his eyes to the nearby tree. "Whatever, I'll get a fire going."

Candy sighed and tended to Kotarou. As she was checking for broken bones, she'd occasionally returned the annoyed glance back to Kai.
"I'm sorry..." she apologized shakily as she felt the boy's pulse.
The pulse was irregular, but nothing too severe. She noticed some bumps and bruises on his arms and forehead, but knew they would heal on their own.
"I-I'll wash the dirt off of his scratches," she stuttered. "But we'll have to wait until he wakes up to give him medicine."

Ace nodded. "I'm sure he will appreciate it very much!" he smiled as he carefully took the vial and walked over to Zero. He helped the vial up to Zero's lips, "Drink this, it'll get rid of the paralysis." he said as he began to tilt it back. Zero slowly drank the bitter tasting liquid. "You sure that isn't poison?" he asked, not seeing the girl had taken a sip herself. "Positive." Ace replied. He ran back over to Candy and gave her the empty vial.

"Ace," Candy whispered as he returned the vial. "Zero... he doesn't mean to hurt anybody, does he?"
She looked down to the grass and held onto the material covering her knees. Her anxiety was gradually becoming worse, but she was trying to fight it. Deep inside, she was afraid that what Kai had said would come true. But it was in her nature to try and help Zero, even if he were evil.
It was times like this she wished people would understand her way of seeing things.

Ace struggled to find the right words to say. "Zero isn't...that harmful really. He's just use to being alone. Here, I'll tell you the whole story. About 5 years ago, or so, I found Zero crying...He was lost in a forest covered with blood. He said his only family had been killed that night by bandits...He had no one else. Ever since them me and him have always been side-by-side. After begging on streets and stuff, we decided maybe thieving would give us a better profit. So we've been robbing people who come through the pass." Ace sighed. "He's not evil...Just alone. He's really one of the kindest people I know."

Although Kai looked disaproavingly at her actions, he shrugged it off. That wasn't his current duty. He began walking around, picking up twigs for kendling, then a couple larger sticks for later, and made his way up through the cave then out again on the top of the ledge, and dropped them. He slowly organized the twigs in a circle, then began the common ritual he did often in the wilderness, by taking out flint and striking it at the apropriate angle. He prefered flint over matches, since matches ran out faster. With in little time, he quickly had a small flame going, which he was sheltering from the wind, as he began building onto it. The fire began to grow, illuminating his face, and his blue eyes. Once he was sure it was large enough, he ran back down to the cave to get larger sticks.

Candy couldn't help but feel terrible for them.
"I'm so sorry that happened to him," she said as she held onto her locket.
Seeing a blaze come from where Kai had gone, she stood up and faced it. She then looked back down to Ace with a smile.
"Do you think you could watch my patients for a little bit?" she asked. "And if Zero gets better, can you try to convince him to stay with us just for a little while?"

"Sure! I can easily watch your patients but...." he sighed as he glanced at Zero. "Zero's a loner...And he's so use to stealing, I don't know if he could get use to not stealing from you guys for a while..." Ace sat down and stared at the sky. "Not to mention he won't easily forgive your friends over there." he said pointing to Tyo and Kai.

"Who, me?" Tyo asked, perking his head up curriously, from watching Kai go through the manual labor, and eaves dropping at the same time.

Candy nodded. "I don't know Kai and Tyo very well, but..."
She sighed and looked back to the fire. It was worth a try, she thought, to at least let them stay around with the group for a little while. She wanted to give them a little hospitality for all that they've been through.
"...I'm sure they didn't want to fight Zero in the first place."
It was then she ran quietly up the path to find Kai. Even if he was annoyed by her, she wanted to talk to him.

"Yes, you." he said simply. He stood up, dusting off the dirt that clung to his light fur coat. He had yet to learn anyone's name, until then he would just have to say him or her. He looked over at Candy. "Who knows...Sometimes Zero can rush into things." he shrugged. "You're friends aren't going to kill him are they?"

Kai aproached the tree again, looking at the larger branches which had fallen off after Zero's tumble. It looked like it hurt a lot. He shook his head and sighed, then aproached the fallen branches and began attempting to snap them in half, by standing on top and bending them towards him. CRACK! Finally, it gave in. Kai continued, breaking it into four more parts, then neatly folding them in his arm. He had just begun to conjur sweat on his forhead. But knew that if he couldn't get a fire going, then there would be two people who should be resting, left in the cold damp cave. This was the first time he felt responsible for others, and he didn't want a guilty conscience again.

Candy turned around to answer Ace. "No. But if they try to, I will help you."
She approached Kai and picked up some twigs. "I know you're busy making the fire, but do you mind if I talk to you for a little bit? I'll help you find things to burn..."
She held some small twigs in her hand and hoped that he wouldn't get mad at her. After all, her anxiety has been rather tough on her lately.
