Hello, animal-loving peoples! I'm a big animal lover, ever since I was a little kid. I love all animals, even the creepy ones like spiders and stuff. : D
I'm in the Animal Rescue Club at school, although I'm often excluded from group activities there because I don't look like I want to rescue animals. But I probably do more than alot of people in the club. I'm trying to gradually get more involved. ^^
I don't have a favorite animal, because while cats hold a special place for me, I love all animals. <3
Glad to be here.
cool. nice to meet you..and glad to have you here xp

Hello, I'm Pinto and I absolutely adore animals. Due to family and home issues, I can't have any pets right now, but I'm so tight with other people's pets that I feel that any pet someone has is mine, so I have quite an extension of pets in that case. I love horseback riding as well. Some of my favorite animals are wolves, bears, horses, dogs, big cats, ducks, goats, chickens, pigs, cows, turtles, dolphins, whales, FINN WHALES, foxes, giraffes, ostraches, the list goes on.

In my area there are lots of squirrels. Unfortunately I live in the suburbs so there's not much. Petwise it's all dogs, though there are them cats and the occasional gekko. Luckily I'll soon be going on a trip where I'll get to go to an alligator farm!

Besides animals, I also have interests in pirates, art, writing, psionics, therian, internet in general, swimming, sports, movies, archery, waterskiing, windsurfing, anime, manga, reading (depends), Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, camping, fire, cooking, acting, singing, dancing, photography, kayaking, canoeing, typing, music, green, beading, traveling, rollercoasters, talking, etc. Let's just say I'm never bored.

Hello, my name is Myao (previously Tsukiono but that account got hacked) and I love animals with all my heart. I'm in 8th grade and I'm dreaming to become a Marine Biologist when I get older, going to go for a Ph.D.t major. I live in Moreno Valley, California with my 4 wolf dogs and my goldfish pond, in Macomb, Illinois is the rest of my pack, 2 parakeets, 2 Cockatiels, 2 black dogs, 2 black cats, 5 pigeons, and 2 bearded dragons. I breed show pigeons and racing pigeons, both types are white so I can release them at weddings and funerals. My favourite animals are Dolphins, Cats, and Dragons and I hope I'll be able to make some friends here and get advise on how to get my pigeons back into their coop after an opossum attack where out of my 9 originals plus some eggs 5 lived confused
I love to read, write, and roleplay. I'm especially interested in medieval times, Ancient Egypt, pirates, and fantasy. I'm not too much into non-fiction books but I like to watch Animal Planet, I love the Sci-Fi channel and I love learning about the paranormal (UFOs, the Mothman, El Chupacabra, etc.)
Well, I'll see ya around ^-^ heart

Irmatu

Beloved Dabbler

PostPosted: Sun Dec 04, 2005 11:00 pm

Hello..

My name is Irmatu, but if you can come up with another nickname, go ahead -- I'm collecting them! Currently, I do go by Irma, Irmy, Immy, Arc, Eso, Iso, and Uni though. I live in Virginia, in a cozy small town I prefer to not disclose, as an eighteen year old, full-time college student. My birthday is on January 11th, so I will be turning 19 in about a month (feel the excitement!). As for a few other obvious basics, I'm an African American -- how much I do not know -- and a female. My family consists of a mother, father, and two younger brothers; and my dog of one and a half years, Jackie, is a Jack Russel/Beagle mix plus a big part of the family.

My love for animals stretches back to when I couldn't even walk or crawl yet, I believe, and the concept of me becoming a veterinarian entered my head in my first year of schooling. So now I'm attending a two-year college first to gain my Associate in Science degree, and then I will go to a good four-year college for my last two years in order to recieve my Bachelors in Biology or Biological Sciences -- perhaps a minor in Pre-veterinary Medicine if I can. I might stop there and just use my acquired degrees to be a Veterinary Technician, because becoming a Veterinarian is hard these days, but it all depends on how life plays out over the next three years. In the mean time, I'm applying to the no-kill shelter SPCA for a position as either their Veterinary Assistant or Animal Care Technician. Either of this positions would benefit my veterinary credentials in the future (which is a BIG necessity to becoming a vet).

That may not seem like much, but if you ever had problems with a pet, I could still offer advice to the best of my abilities. Granted, it's not professional advice, but my opinion has been known to be mostly correct or helpful. I used to volunteer at the before mentioned shelter and carry a lot of funny, sad, and happy stories about the animals I met there (you folks would love the Dr. Pepper's Butt Close-Up, KeeKee's Grand Escape, and Stella's Groove memories!). I might make a thread of those one of these days, so look out for some grand laughs. Despite my time constrictions due to college work and possible real work, I manage to show my cheerful, comical personality side when I can. Another trait of mine is to simply make people happy..

..so I've been known to offer items to quests, donate money, or draw free pictures for people out of nowhere. ^^ Don't ask me to do so, just sit back and be yourself. Beggers don't get as much as random strangers -- weird, huh? Oh, and I know I'm late in stating this, but 'yes' my GAIA character reflects me and my wish to be a Veterinary Technician, and the Coco Plushie has a personality of his own.

And he prefers to be called Chocolate Thunda. xD

Thanks for reading my introduction!

Hello. My name is Rain.

I have a lot of experience with animals, not just because I've had them all my life, but because of the work I do with them. My mo used to breed and show her horses, so I know a bunch on them, how to train them, clicker train them, what sort of hay to feed certain horses and grain. There is a little medical history there too since it's hard to find Horse Vets to come out to our place, so the assistants are left behind and sometimes I help with the bandaging up or x-rays.

I raise Guide Dog Puppies for the Blind and have had 15 of their dogs go through my house. We have trained 4 full dogs from puppy to adulthood and 2 have made it to guide. We've had 10 other dogs with behavior problems that have stayed in our house anywhere from 2 weeks to 10 weeks for special training. Our 15th dog is still at out house and will return in February.

As well as being a raiser, I am the assistant leader for the Guide dog club and will sometimes conduct outings or I give advice on how to better handle a dog, or do some behavior modifications.

More volunteer....I am in Search and Rescue and for the past year and a half have been training my dog, Hansel as an air scent/wilderness search dog. She is about 6months until certification, but we're having issues with her fear of unsteady surfaces, so we're doing a lot of confidence training. For the past 8 months, I've been training a Pit Bull mix to be an Explosives detection dog. She didn't pass the last test because she has issues with focusing on the task at hand, but if we had found that last article fine, she would have been certified. I teach a 5 week intensive basic obedience class for the new handlers, and I help with the start of air scent training.

I do agility with all three of my dogs. I do the competition style and have been doing that for the past year. We're in novice and I hope to be doing a jump match with Hansel soon.

I work for a Veterinary clinic as a kennel assistant and vet tech. As kennel, I take care of dog's enrichment, walking the dogs, feeding. cleaning, etc. As vet tech..I do everything from restraint to dentals.

I work for a professional trainer. At the board and train facility, I assist with the cleaning, feeding, medicating and exercising of dogs. AFter I am finished, I assist the trainer in training the dogs. We go on field trips and do off leash and do socialization in the outdoor malls, etc. I help along with integrating dogs back into homes, behavior consults and private lessons. I help with the group classes as well.

Besides work and volunteer, I have an assortment of animals.

Hello, I am [Demon_Angel],

Word.

Well any way, i am 13, and i show and breed dogs. I love all dogs, but the little yappy ones run my patience thin, and i love cats. really- i love all animals, but fox are my favorite. Err, yeah. I am NOT for animal rights, i think we should treat them fairly, and lovingly, but they really dont have as much rights as humans. Yar.

I currently have 13 dogs, though it ranges from time to time. I have had up to 23 dogs in my house at once. But luckily they are mostly Shelties, so its not really that big of a deal.

I love to draw dogs, though my best are shelties, (obviously).
