Aslinn saw his uncle smile and listened to him. Hearing that her dad had shared a lot about her made her feel incredibly awkward. When his uncle mentioned a marriage Aslinn's mind went blank and her face went scarlet. She'd seen the documents somewhere in her father home study, in a nice picture frame, but assumed it was an unfulfilled pact that would remain unfulfilled because that tribe had died out or so she thought. The problem with arrangements as such is sometimes fate had other ideas when kids were born and it sometimes fell upon latter generations. After a few minutes though Aslinn fell backwards onto the carpeting in her office her hair cascading in the plush fibers.

Aslinn barely heard what his uncle said about the aunt. "ahhh okay." she mumbled her face still bright red. She didn't know how Cody would take it but she wasn't honestly sure what she should think. Aslinn did have standards and being handed off without her say was admittedly below them. As she laid on the carpet she mumbled something most interesting. "you idiot..... the bookstore will be able to assist you. There's a boy there i used to help out alot really nice kid. It doesn't hurt to lean on people from time to time other than family.... Family is nice but given the circumstances your family isn't something i'd be too keen on leaning on." Aslinn was quoting different tidbits from her father that he'd shared during their last conversation. Looking back on it on his deathbed he talked an awful lot about that book store and the family that ran it; he held them rather highly.

Until her sister had tried getting her killed Aslinn hadn't understood that last part; her mom had simply exiled her sister didn't even bother to make her mortal. Aslinn's mother had been one of those women who didn't like stress or dealing with complicated matters. The most stressful thing her mom ever really decided was what would be served for dinner. Admittidly Aslinn's mom though she'd deny it did have a favorite child, her sister. Aslinn and her sister were polar opposites; which was why her mom had always been indifferent to Aslinn while showering her sister with affection and praise.

Aslinn heard his uncle over the phone and her face went scarlet "No! i don't know! A long time ago i found that marriage pact floating around in my dads study inside a nice photo frame. Figured it didn't mater and put it out of my mind... However on his deathbead my dad spoke highly of you two trying to tell me to seek proverbial shelter at your book store if things went out of hand." As soon as Cody chastised his uncle and hung the phone Aslinn began pondering her options.

She didn't have much idea on what she'd do. The pact was old but her father intended to honor it. The more Aslinn thought on the matter she realized marrying a human would be easier said than done. She didn't indented to be the first person to speak about this matter however she figured she might have to considering Cody's personality.

Aslinn smiled when Cody said to ignore the pact. She turned and looked at him. "that would be best" she mumbled before she sat up unable to lose focus on everything. If her mother caught wind of it heaven help her.

When Cody spoke about her being his friend and helping him adjust she held her hand out before speaking "i'd be glad to Cody. I'd reccomend keeping the book store closed for a few days until you've adjusted a bit. I can skip a few days at the office and drop by and we can work on your skills until your proficient. Since your senses are all sharper and stronger it's for the best. Meanwhile are you up for doing anything tonight at all or do you want to rest?" Aslinn knew some of the most important thing's she'd have to teach Cody based on her own childhood; simply leaving him alone running a shop was a horrible idea. She would have to teach him first thing about the charms and how to behave when situations presented themselves with his sharper senses; but it would have to wait if he were tired.

Aslinn stood up when Cody asked how he was supposed to get home. She moved over to her desk and grabbed a leather bracelet and a leather cord necklace. She walked over and showed hi each piece; in the middle of both of them hung the same sun shaped charm. "well i'll be driving you home... but these charms when worn give the illusion of having a human body. The bracelets better for when you sleep if you've got company." She set the items in his hands before she grabbed her pendant off the coffee table and slid it on around her neck. "these should take effect right away however if they come off you've got between two and four hours."

Aslinn looked at Cody as he examined them before putting them on. "Well your sen of smell is gonna be incredibly strong... so foul odors are a problem; also ummm well f-females wh-who a-are ovulating. You might find yourself more active at night for a while until you adjust. I don't wanna overload your brain just yet so lets try taking it slow at first." Considering what his uncle had said about the marriage pact when she brought up how he'd be able to tell when females were in heat she went bright red. As he went back to "normal" Aslinn slid her charm on and she reverted back to normal. Once that was said and done she moved over to her desk and began grabbing her keys and her purse.

Aslinn led him out to her car and when he winced she quickly opened the passenger side door and shoved him in. She shut the door and moved over to the drivers side before climbing in and shutting the door. The car was fully sound proof none of the outside noise was getting in and bothering them. Looking at Cody she frowned before saying "s-sorry i-if i was a little rough.. i-i kinda forgot but until your used to it th-the noises can kinda be painful" She frowned a bit while she started the car and waited for him to calm down.

Aslinn watched him relax and she laughed when he spoke about his apartment being slightly sound proof. "well that will be fine but we should get you some ear plugs or headphones." She slowly began driving when Cody spoke about her sister. She thought it over feeling rather unsure about what she should do on the matter. "I-i'm not sure. I highly doubt she even knows where i live. Let's face it she had to use you to track me down." Upon weighing the odds a bit she finally decided "i'll be fine at home. I doubt she'd even attempt anything after this evening" Aslinn drove Cody back to his place fully unaware that her sister had been plotting. When Keria had been scared off she'd trecked all the way to her apartment before breaking in and taking a few items before she'd lit a few toxic herbs and left locking the door while the scent filled the apartment.
