"Well...it feels like you just stitched up my shoulder." She laughed. "It's fine. Thanks." Looking down at her hand, she looked back up. "Hey, Edward...I'm sorry for yelling at you."

"Don't be." he sat next to her, on her good side. "Without you yelling, I would have jumped purposely. I am sorry for making you worry like that." He rested his head on her good shoulder.

"Atleast I knocked some sense into you." She muttered, not minding that his head was on her shoulder. "So, rather than jumping. Talk to me. Reasonably of course. Okay?"

He fell back with her, laying close to her for comfort. "There is not that much to say really. I wanted to die, because it's my fault for going too soon to get my son. Kirai was right about that. Losing my son feels like there is no reason to exist anymore." He huddled against her. "Then Banshee reminded me that I have friends still. Which is something I thought I lost when that incident happened. Her words, reminded me that I have have to stay strong for the Society, and my friends."

Through his talk, she'd decided to start playing with his hair, it always comforted her when she was with Alexander. "You're very lucky, Edward. You have so much going for you. Even when things like this happen, there are so many others, like myself, that are here to bring you and your family back to your feet."

Edward loved the feeling of her fingers in his hair. "I have decided that I am going to do my best to lead, and protect my friends." He subconsciously wrapped an arm around her, holding her gently. "I have to be if we are going to win this war. I want to bring peace back to this land."

She shook her head. "Edward, take baby steps. You can't expect to bring peace to the rest of us, if you can't bring peace to yourself."

He tilted his head, and opened his eyes to look at her, still holding on to her. "It is the only thing I have that will bring peace to me. It's the only thing that will keep me together. Once everything is over and done with I can then set to work healing all the damage that was done to me." His eyes had finally changed from the pure black that Banshee seen earlier to a bright shade of green. "Fighting to protect my loved ones is all I have Lydia."

She nodded. "Just don't push it then, alright?" She smiled, patting his head lightly. "Just know, no matter what, I've got your back. Believe me, Edward. You need a babysitter."

He smiled, then moved his head back to where it was before. "Thank you, I promise that I will try not pushing it." He closed his eyes, and held on to her a little tighter. "Thank you for being here for me." he whispered.

Edward, for the first time in a week, was finally happy. "Things are looking up now." He scratched his eyebrow against her shoulder. "The question is where do we start from here?"
