"I'll be back shortly. I feel like someone is calling me to go to the lounge." Perrian said and left Vincent's Enclave.

Perrian returns many hours later and knocks on the door. Vincent's cursed blade sends him a warning that a person who has a blessed item is near.

Vincent opens the door to his hut to see Perrian standing there. Perplexed by the sword's reaction, but still happy to see his friend, Vincent bids the man to enter. Djanni remains, still drinking from the large pot of tea sitting on the fire.

Vincent leads Perrian to the sitting area then asks, "Would you like some tea? Is a tad strong, but not bad if I do say so myself."

"Vincent, I have a question to ask of you." Perrian said. "Would you be willing to join Firu and I in a survival tournament? We need a third person, and I'd be honored if you would accept my invitation."

"A survival tournament...sounds like it could be fun! I would be honored to join you two in your tournament. When is it and where?" Vincent's eyes shine with anticipation as he gives his emphatic answer.

Perrian smiled. "It will be at The Miyr School of Necromancy and Black Magic. The when part I'm not too sure about. I'll need to ask Firu about that more. I don't think a firm date is planned."

"Well, when you find the details out, let me know. Also, Perrian I have discovered something grave." He looks to the broken sword on the mantle and grimaces, "It was the reason that I called Fury, Djanni, and yourself. That sword belonged to a dead man I found on the side of the road up in the mountain trails. That sword is the sacred blade given to the servants of the king of The Kingdom of the Emerald Hills-it is the blade given to the men that served the King and myself in that once great battle. Something horrible is happening and I don't know what."

*Djanni only half listens to the conversation; her attention is diverted inwards, and to the necessary task of controlling the Fire. The curse is in turmoil, wailing and writhing over the presence of the broken sword. Whether in anguish or ecstasy, she is uncertain. The only fact clear to her is that Vincent is indeed correct; something horrible has happened in the presence of the broken blade, and the Fire senses it.*

"Vincent, I also have another matter to discuss. Djanni, you may listen in also, if you want." Perrian said and laid out a map on the table. "Vincent, I'd like you to acompany me on a journey to slay a dragon. Here is a map that I bought which has the location of one. Would you like to come with me after we go on the quest to your home village?"
