Remus slowly stopped, kneeling and panting from his strenuous training. He altered to his human form and closed his eyes, slowly his breathing and calming his thoughts.

Lina came in soon after, her footsteps silent, and her gaze distant even as she stepped closer, moving past her husband to sit in the seat she had so long ago sat down and told the Lotus Cause to him. It seemed fitting that the story would be told here at this very moment, as if things were coming back full circle.
"Remus," she said softly, her eyes finally alert, but still held the coldness as long ago, "We must talk."

Remus stood up, careful not to let his expression change at Trodan's mention. He stayed where he was and nodded for her to continue.

"As you know, Torden and I, along with eight other beings were trained as the Ten's apprentices for a reason we did not know at the time until they left. We all trained together, ate together and even slept in the same rooms until it was time for us not just to learn about teamwork, but how to better use our powers as well. That was the point where we all went our separate ways, each intent upon learning our master's trade. It was then that the world was separated by the realm each Leader ruled. Lotan was the alpha of all lycans and taught Troden the ways of the lycan people as Moneko, a being who ruled over the light and even the vampires themselves taught me ther ways. We were fine then, and in a way still innocent of the ways of the world. That is until it was time for the ten apprentices to meet once more." she took a deep breath before continuing, "It was the second time that restrictions were made and we were thankfully allowed to sleep in separate places, but the training was still as one body. We truly met in one of tour training session he and I, Troden a being of physical combat and myself mostly a physical combat user myself for Moneko had only taught me more about ways of life than magic. Our first fight was Troden's victory and out of stubborness I chose him as my sparring partner until finally I beat him soundly as I had wanted. I was proud of being the second Leader's apprentice and back then I thought of their numbers as ranks and not what they really were, a way to truly show just how needed each power was, from Lotan being the foundation on up. As I said before I was a fool."
Lina's gaze became distant once more before she went into the first painful moment of her past, "We both were stubborn beings, so stubborn that even after we could read each other's moves without even blinking we continued to fight, until the only true reason we chose to spar with each other awas just to be in each other's company. And even that feeling became what I thought was love." her gaze remained distant as her fists tightened once more, "I grew so attached to him that I didn't realize that I was the only one who had that feeling, and when he gave me those poisoned lies about his own love I didn't bat an eye before proclaiming my affections for him as well."

Remus's expressions stayed the same. His fists tightened slightly, and his jaw clenched slightly, but he looked the same. His voice was also level when he spoke. "Is there more...?"

"Alas there is," Lina answered, "but I shall fastfoward to just before my mother fell at my hands for it is then that this will truly be told." there was a moment of silence before she finally began, Even then there was a time of drastic change within the world for the Leaders convened more and more often and rumors were spreading throughout the land that whatever the Leaders were planning would be a great blesssing as it was a curse. We, being their apprentices didn't even know what was going on until all us were told to come into the meeting room with them and there their plan was told to us. Some of the apprentices were scared, some never showed any reaction at all while others like Troden and myself were angry that they would even think about leaving this world for the human's sake. They were foound and nothing more. And then they ordered us to keep watch over the world." a dry laugh escaped Lina lips then, "That only sent most of us into a panic. We weren't ready. Not by a longshot as you can see, but the order was final and nothing could be done. They would prepare us for a few more weeks before finally disappearing from the realm of the living and the dead. Out of all of us I think me, Troden and two the beings were the most calm about it for even in our anger there was a since of purpose. We knew what we had to do and how to do it. We just needed faith within ourselves. Nothing then would have even given me a hint at how fast Troden's loyalty would change from the Ten, to myself and then to the Rajens who I inevitably helped create."
She glanced at Remus then before nodding slowly, as if answering a silent question, "Yes, I did help create the Rajens, but under the thought that it would be an organization that would guide everyone through the hard times and keep the world relatively the same. It was on the day that the Rajens would be revealed that Troden gave a potion that was supposed to give me the strength to face my family for if I was to truly help with this cause I would have to break my ties to a family that had long held the traditions of ancient royalty and not the new ideals that the Rajens had instore. It was a lame reason to drink it, but I was in love and I twould have drank it if he had said it would bring Moneko back so blinded I was by his lies. That same day I killed by mother, was left abandoned by Troden who then claimed the title as Rajen Leader and was ultimately banished from my family until justice was served, but I still love Troden so hurt and confused I went to him, offering a book that was left to me by Moneko herself that would help him find the Ten in their time of need. Back then I felt the time was now. There were two books, as we all know, one for and and the other that was clearly one for Merlin. Why Vincent himself didn't give it to her I don't know but I disobey her orders just to be back in Troden's arms again. You know the rest of the story." she sighed deeply, the room cooling for a moment as if she had lifted a great weight off her shoulders only to bear a new one of anxiety. How would Remus react to something like this? It was all so studden and almost without a cause...that he knew off, but he needed to know the truth. Her hard expression finally broke and she almost looked small in her seat as she began to cry tears of relief and sadness, a strange feat for her to make at the time. She couldn't even speak she was so emotional.

As the tale ended, Remus shifted to his hybrid form. He slowly turned away from Lina, one hand on his forehead growling menacingly. "THAT SNAKE!" In one swift motion he'd pulled his sword from his back and thrown it point first into the ground, burying the entire bottom blade.
Remus was also a mix of emotions, but his were very different. He felt rage at Trodan, and even a little anger at Lina for keeping this from him. He felt confusion as to why she would fear telling him. He even felt a cold-blooded instinct from his wolf side that he could only assume to be the urge to kill. Slowly he calmed himself until his thoughts and instincts were down to a dull roar. He shifted to his human form and turned back to face Lina.
As soon as he saw her, all of his rage and anger left his heart. He could understand. He walked over to her and knelt down in front of her. Taking her hands in his, he looked upwards into her face. "I am glad to have heard this from you, and while I'm not happy that it occurred, it isn't your fault, nor can I blame you for what happened. But, Lina... You are the woman I love. That will never change. You don't ever need to be afraid to tell me anything... I love you..."

You make it sounds so easy... Lina answered, her robes turning tint of blue from her tears, But I tried so hard mot to have to burden you with that part of my past, the part that would give Troden such power over me so easily. I didn't want you to see weakness as I am showing you now. And for that I am sorry. her cries softened until her body stopped its heaving and she was still once again, save for her hands which were trembling within his, ...I love you too...

Lina didn't reply, but allowed herself to be held, not even a hint of the Lotus Leader appearing in her form as she rested against him. This was truly a first for her, to just be Lina Asanti, no, Lina Sec, an ordinary vampire who follows and extraordinary path. She closed her eyes, her now pale blue robes moving slighlty as she wrapped her arms around him.
Emit smiled for a moment as the tension in the air receeded intonothing, his brown hands lightly taking another sip of the tea, They will do better now Moneko.. he murmured, looking at the walls around him, BBut their trust has only begun to be tested. He could almost sense the affirmation from the power around him, which only brought another smile to his face.

After a few moments, Remus gently let go and looked down at Lina. "Let's get some sleep and we can get back to work tomorrow." He leaned down and gently kissed her.

Lina slowly nodded, slowly putting herself back together before a sense of calm came back to her, "That sounds good. Let's go." she finally answered, wiping her eyes before moving towards the door, her hand still within his.

They got to their room without incident. Remus kissed her again lightly before getting ready for bed.
