Lark laughed at his joke knowing what he really meant was him she ate a great less than what he could put away and still be unsatisfied it made her wonder if she should enter him in a all you can eat contest just to see if he could out eat everyone else. "Of course it would be bad if we ate ourselves sick." She joked back as they made it to the car as she leaned on his arm lovingly

Devon smiled pleased with himself. He walked to the car, helping her in so they could be off. He remain a little silent, lost in thought and planning. Everyone once in awhile he'd look over at her, just to admire of a brief moment.
It wasn't long before they arrive and he was opening the door to her side again.

Lark was all smiles not minding the silence because it was comfortable and she was thinking as well but it wasn't even close to what Devon was thinking about she was replaying the ballet in her head completely inspired to draw what she saw tomorrow when Devon opened the door for her she took his arm and quickly followed him inside where the manager seemed to think that she really was a princess and gave them the royal treatment without Devon ever mentioning his name which took her by surpise

Devon and Lark were shown to one of the best tables and made comfortable before the attendant left them to serve themselves. There was lots to choose from at the buffet, and Devon pilled his plates with more meat than vegetable. He made sure to fill his plate sensible so not to appear a pig. He didn't want anything to mar Lark's night.
"How are you liking the attention?" he asked Lark, Amused(if a bit annoyed) by all the stares she was attracting.

Lark smiled at Devon not minding a bit that Devon wanted to pig out but was holding himself back on her account so she decided to encourage him by putting his preferred amount of meat on his plate with out a word smiling while she did so while she put a little more meat than usual on her just to try it and humor Devon. "Well I have to admit i'm still new to the royal treatment but I like it."

"You should get used to it." he said. "Cause I plan on seeing you treated like this often."
He was surprise that she piled more onto hi plate and onto her own. he indeed found it amusing. He wondered though. Had she sensed his intentions. If so she was getting more comfortable with the bond. It was a comforting thought.

Lark laughed a little as she made her way back to the table after she got her favorite drink. "I don't know if i'll ever get used to this kind of treatment." she told him eating her vegetables first she was smiling at him

Devon and Lark had a very enjoyable meal, laughing and talking about the Swan Lake and other things. Time ticked on, and they were pretty much finished eating.
Becoming a little nervous Devon looked at Lark seriously. "Lark, there is something I need to tell you."

Lark was still laughing at a story he told her about his childhood one of those heroic stories she had been warned of. She stopped and became worried when Devon turned serious. "Yes Devon what do you have to tell me?" She became a little scared when she couldn't find any emotion on his face but the serious mask he was wearing was he about to tell her was going away again? Or something worse?

Devon looked down at the table took a deep breath. He then looked her in the eye.
"I know it's hasn't been long since we met and I've dragged you into nothing but trouble. I want you to know how sorry I am. I swear that I will protect you in anyway possible from now on. I love you Lark..."
He stood and knelt down beside her chair. "All I'm asking in return, is that you marry me." He opened a little box with a diamond ring inside for her to see.

Any worries that Lark may have had seconds before all disappeared and was replaced by with love for her wolf. While he was warming up she was about to tell him that it wasn't wholly his fault for the troubles they had as it was in her selfless nature to take the blame for everything but even that was forgotten as he got down on bended knee and her heart swelled and she was in dream state of shock. "Oh Devon, yes I'll marry you I can't imagine a greater honor." She kissed him on the lips and threw her arms around him in front of everyone in the whole restaurant which had stopped to watch and when she accepted they broke into loud cheers and whistles

Devon had never felt so proud and happy in his entire life when she said yes. He was grinning from ear to ear. He placed the ring on her finger gently and kissed her again.
"You've just made me the happiest man in the world." he told her.
With that he picked her up(earning more cheers from the people) and and carried her from the restaurant.

Lark gasped and then started laughing and crying joyfully as she was picked up and carried out into the night by her mate this was truly the best night of her life as Devon carried her she kissed him all over telling him how much she loved him

it was a very happy drive home and Devon very released his hold on her hand. He would glance down at the ring and smile too himself. Now they could officially be together, No doubts about should's or could's. He had never felt so happy in his life.

Lark was the happiest she has ever been in her life she had never been so happy. Devon proved like he had over and over again. That he really truly loved her and he wanted her and no one else. He chose her and soon enough she would be his life long mate and he hers. While Devon wasn't looking she was also smiling at her ring the symbol of his love and devotion. He kept his promise to her and his mother was right also.She wasn't alone anymore and she knew she would never be again. The ride seemed short as they pulled in the drive to their home. "Thank you so much, I love you." She kissed his check. "Stay with me tonight?" she asked
