He wasn't exactly sure why he had never forced himself outside the castle's grounds once had been stationed there... why he had never tried meeting somone other than the two men he knew now- one who he could barely even call a friend... It had been completely uncharacteristic of him to take care of Peyton, especially when he had- the timing had been horrible... and yet he had never thought to take time off to visit the outside world until he had been forced to. Well, not visit exactly, seeking information and trying to help the fire kingdom's image wasn't entirely relaxing.

Haar supposed it was because of his parents. No, no, it wasn't there fault per se, it was his own- but because of what had happened, what he had done...that was a major part that kept him from becoming anything more than a guarded friend of anyone's. Year after year of dismissing his behaviour and hiding away from public it had become habit, and that was where he was today. He had made himself completely walled up on a certain specific level. One could get just so far before he would cut people off. That is, he had until about a year ago. He had tried for once in his short, and yet incredibly stressful, life to find someone that would make his said stressful life a little bit more worth living. Something, someone worth living for. It hadn't turned out nicely to say the least.

Running a hand through dark hair, Haar attempted to smile away his clumsy side step before turning his head away from the teen. "Thanks...I just-"

Yes, it had turned out perfectly horrid.

"Need to sit down for a moment or so."

(... random... XD)

".. I wouldn't have complained," Dax muttered, giving Sayael a side-long look. In reality, he actually would have complained or would try to take some of the other boy's. And with the way he acted when it came to honey, he believed it would've turned into a struggle. He couldn't deny the fact that he was charmed with the thought, though. It was.. sweet. Even if it was only a tactic to make him not whine.

Though he too doubted they would lose each other, he didn't disagree(for once). As they once again began walking, he stayed on the inside of Jacqueline, closer to 'Lucian'. "There's this pub near the edge of town," he said. "Just before we hit the woods again, I'd like to stop in."

He usually would have replied with something along the lines of 'yes, you would' but had enough foresight to be able to reason out that that would probably creat an opening for yet another argument - bickering seemed to be the only thing they could do together.

"Hmmm, is my lovely life going to turn into a drunkard?" he asked curiously. He didn't know if Dax drank often - but somehow he doubted it, with a super over-protective mother like his.

"Are you alright?" Alti inquired, frowning slightly. "I hope it's nothing bad enough to call Mum or you'll be forcefully bedridden for about a week - she's probably still worked up about Ed - er... that boy's injury," he said, having completely forgotten the boy's real name. He was terrible with names and it didn't help that his mother had confused him even more.

"No!" he protested, giving Sayael a light nudge with his elbow. "Not unless you give me reasons to drown my senses in drink, but I think I'd have you back in line before that would happen." He had only managed to have a few drinks throughout his entire life. He never actually liked the bitter taste of alcohol, but always tried to keep the best straightface he could manage when downing a cup. Afterall.. what kind of man couldn't handle a couple drinks? "I just wanted to see someone there."

Sayael - that is, Lucian - looked horror struck. "Wh-wh-what?! Are you cheating on me?!" he demanded, looking terrified whil managing to look as if it were all a joke at the same time. "You'd better not be," he said, pouting as he slung an arm around the other's shoulder, pulling 'her' close.

"Oh, dear Lucian! How could I ever possibly cheat on you?" he asked, catching onto the jesting in the boy's words. He managed not to pull away or immediatly tense up when he was now right next to Sayael. Even after some hesitation, he placed his own arm around the other's waist. Now they looked like a couple. "You're the prize catch."

"Even if I am crazy about sweets?" he asked, grinning. "Anyway, who are you meeting? Anyone I know?" he inquired, genuinly interested - which wasn't saying much, considering the ammount of curiosity in his nature.

"Maybe you're just crazy in general," Dax mused teasingly. "And I'm meeting an old friend of mine. At least.. I hope I'll be meeting him there. He normally spends his free time at that pub so we'll probably catch him. Hm.. You may have seen him before. He travels everywhere with my father. First royal guard in his ranks, Zavier." Though he wouldn't give a face-to-face goodbye to his parents, he wanted to at least see the older man once more.

"And you intend to see him while looking like this?" he murmured in the other's ear, a smirk on his lips. "I suppose it's normal for a perfectly healthy prince to suddenly go gender-bending, as well as changing his hair and eye color." He grinned and, while his face was in the perfect place, took the opportunity to kiss the other's temple. It was fun to mess with Dax. He had interesting reactions.

Dax shrunk down in Sayael's hold, almost like a turtle trying to retreat into its shell. "I hadn't really thought about that," he admitted in a muttering voice. "Well.. He'll understand. I know for certain he won't tell anybody where we're going if I ask him not to." He could just imagine Zavier's face now once realizing it was the blondie prince under this disguise. "Alright. So can we stop there?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 01, 2006 3:38 pm

"Sure. But try not to mention anything about who I really am, alright? I don't have the best reputation, due to my blood," he said with a shrug. "I'm surprised your mother even allowed me near you, with rumours. But I guess our Kingdoms are far enough apart for even royal screw ups to go ungossipped..." He noticed the other's "shrinking" and was a little perplexed. He'd though Dax would protest in some way - well, Dax would, but he had to be Ellian now... an interesting thought and something to take note of.

"Oh, I'm sure she has found out one way or another," he said. He often titled his mother 'The Gossiping Queen' much to her declining of doing such things. "But before the party, she was told time and time again to behave.. As long as you didn't touch me, she was calm enough. Just be glad she wasn't present during our dancing." He could imagine her trying every attempt to hide behind other twirling couples while peeking around to keep an eye on the two princes. "But that won't matter anymore.. Now we can dance the night away without a care!"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 01, 2006 3:52 pm

((xD Dax's mother should meet Alti's mother...))

He grinned. "Hmm, well, that is quite fortunate. You're a much better dancer than the majority of the girls who hang around my palace. And more fun to talk to. We'll have to dance again, but since we are rather unfortunately surrounded by quite a lot of moving people, I don't think now is the time." His arm was still around the other's neck and he shifted it slightly so he could run a hand lightly through the other's long hair.

((You know that inwardly he's comparing it with Isfahel's mane. xD ))

(XD He'd be sad if he didn't have better hair than a horse.)

"And I wouldn't exactly call the music around here the best dancing music," he added. Throughout the bustling people came the out-of-tune music of cheap instruments that the people played to earn a quick penny. Suddenly, Dax felt as if his back froze stiff when Sayael's fingers laced through his hair. First the closeness, then the little kisses, and now this. He understood they were supposed to married, sure, but this was.. Embarassing! He recoiled himself away from the other boy defensively. "Hey! Cut it out, will you?" he said, trying to keep himself sounding the least flustered as he could manage.
