Sibyl was confused when Jaden rose from the bed and passed her to leave the room. What confused her further was when he opened the refrigerator and began to take something out of it. Of course it would confuse her, after all, he'd just asked her moments ago to go get her something to eat and then he passed by her and went to get something for himself. She'd asked him what he'd wanted to eat, he could have just told her that it was in the fridge ... People, humans, they were just extremely confusing to Sibyl and she didn't understand half of the things they did. They were far more complex than she could ever hope to be and sometimes it frustrated her and made her feel inadequate.
She decided to follow Jaden into the kitchen to see what exactly he was getting amongst other things. It confused her that he was mumbling to himself but it made no sense so she couldn't even hope to respond or comment or anything. "Jaden," she decided to say, sensing something was wrong, "why are you so sad lately? Every time I come here now I can sense that you're extremely sad and lonely. Are you wanting to go search for Myyth and try to bring her back? I'm sure you could sit someone in your place temporarily to help me run the pack if you chose to do that. I can just run it on my own as well. Either way works." She was struggling, trying to make him feel better but she never made him feel better, her attempts never worked. However, she kept trying anyhow even though she had no idea how to make him happy or at least content.

Jaden emerged from the fridge with something that looked like an overly large raccoon in his sharp teeth. "I don't want her." he snarled through the meat, though since it was stuck in his jaws it sounded more like 'eye ond n't er." Stalking away irritably he swatted his tail across the females legs as he stalked away, chewing on the mass of flesh as he tried to get away from the company.

Sibyl was accustomed to deceiphering the little messes that people called speaking when they had their mouths full. After all, she was a wolf and had grown up with a pack of them and every single one of them had done that at one time or another. "What do you mean," Sibyl asked with confusion as she followed behind Jaden despite her sensing that he didn't want her there, "you don't want her? She's your mate, isn't she?" This had just completely blown Sibyl's mind. Mates were supposed to be forever and here Jaden was saying he didn't want Myyth? ~I'm so lost ...~ She truly was, not in a physical sense since she followed him easily but on a mental level, she was definitely lost.

Jaden turned around with a snarl, his red eyes flickering. "She's either dead or run off to her first mate. I don't want her. I want my first mate back." He tore a massive chunk out of the creature and swallowed it. His bad mood was returning and the urge to kill was rising in the back of his mind, taking advantage of the sorrow and lethargy that had been upon him the last few days.

Jaden baffled Sibyl's mind further when he told her that both he and Myythren had possessed mates before the other. What confused her the most, though, was that if Myythren's first mate was still alive then why had she decided to mate with Jaden? They'd both apparently had mates before eachother and this was just a concept that Sibyl hadn't really thought of at all so it'd caught her completely off guard. Then again, it probably was to be expected considering how old they both were so they probably outlived their mates or their mates were killed and they lived on just as her sister had. Then it hit her, Jaden was suffering like her sister had been. Jaden had given up just like her sister had though his instinct was still there keeping him going because he couldn't help his instinct.
"You mean," Sibyl practically stammered and blurted her childish question, "you both had mates before eachother? Wow ... That must mean you're both really old ... You just reminded me that you're probably my senior tenfold or more ..." She then listened to the pain in his voice, the pain hidden behind the aggression and Sibyl felt bad for him, just as she'd felt bad when Ceon had died. "Where," Sibyl asked without really considering the consequences of such a question, "is your first mate?"
Sibyl was the odd teenager who had yet to experience love and that naturally meant that she'd never had a mate. She was rather, to put it bluntly, retarded when it came to love. Though Sibyl was very sharp in other areas when it came to love she was just a complete and total ditz and daze. She failed to notice things that would scream obvious at other people such as Mikami's little display of ogling her chest amongst other parts of her. Sibyl had failed to notice and she had also failed to notice that the lycan found her attractive. She was still a child that way, completely unexperienced and unsuspecting. Sibyl was as innocent and ignorant as one at her age came.

Jaden turned and looked at the young girl as he swallowed another chunk of meat. It really was probably all apart of his imagination but the first mark on his back felt like it was hurting again, even though it had been inactive for decades. "The ocean." he muttered as his clawed fingers closed over the silver crescent. "I scattered her ashes to the ocean. Why should it matter to you?"

Sibyl's little mark that Jaden had given her had never reappeared since he'd given it to her and he'd never bothered to use or activate it. That was probably a good thing since it meant she hadn't gotten into trouble, however, it'd probably end up being a waste of time on his part. She probably wouldn't get herself into any life-threatening situation that she couldn't wrangle herself out of but then again she had needed him to get her out of the Alasdair situation. However, she learnt a deal about that and she knew what course of action she would take for next time. And even if she didn't like the thought of it, sometimes sacrifices had to be made and the world truly did turn into a battle that ended up being the survival of the fittest.
"I was," Sibyl answered honestly without so much as a heartbeat of hesitation, "wondering because you mentioned Myythren may have gone back to her mate, which would mean that he was still alive. If her mate was still alive I thought that yours might be ... Unfortunately for you, I suppose not. If she had been alive, I suppose I would have helped you search for her or something but if she's ashes then she's unattainable." Normal people would have apologized for bringing up such a hard topic but Sibyl had no way of knowing and she didn't believe that she should apologize for something that was not her fault. There was no way she could have known so she didn't feel any guilt.

"You could find the others. I'm sure they are scattered bones at least so they'd be easier to find. Only if your obsession with peoples mates goes that far though." His eyes flickered dangerously as his body shivered in frustration. "Or you can find a mate of your own to pass the time."

Sibyl snorted at the crude response she received from Jaden after what she'd suggested and said. All she'd wanted to do was to help and to make him happy but apparently what she said meant that she was obsessed with his mates. "I," Sibyl stated rather clearly with yet another indignant snort, "don't care about your mates. For whatever reason it makes me unsettled and unhappy when you're unhappy so I just wanted you to be happy. For whatever reason it bothers me that you're like this and I wanted to try and change that but sorry, apparently that means I'm going to go dig up your mate's remains or get my own."

Jaden's eyes softened slightly as he began chewing on the raccoon silently. He didn't make a noise again for several minutes. "Jaden isn't my real name." he finally said to the wall. "It was a gift."

Sibyl wasn't sure what exactly she was supposed to say or do in response to what he'd just said. So she just simply went with what came naturally to her and that was her questions due to her curious nature. "Did," Sibyl asked even more softly than she normally did, seeing as her voice was already soft and soothing, "your first mate give it to you as your gift?" She figured that was probably the most likely option and that his mate probably gave him that necklace as well. Why else would he hold something that burnt him?

The best indication to show that he nodded was the slight dip of his wolf ears and the rustle of his hair. "We didn't like my birth name so she never used it in the few years we were together. She always called me "Wolf" or "Mr. Wolf" when she needed to properly address me. I think she felt sorry for me in the end so she gave me her name and we changed it together before she died in my arms." He finally turned around to Sibyl and looked at her, his eyes may have been crying but no tears came from them. "Do you know what it's like to lose the person that understands you most in the world?"

With Sibyl's sharpened senses she noticed the gesture without any difficulties or troubles. She knew that he was nodding yes to her, her instinct had told her so and rarely was her instinct incorrect. "Hm ..." Sibyl was curious yet again and had more than one question this time, "what was your birth name? I wish to hear it to see if I understand why you both held such distaste for it. Birthnames are important, they shape our figure." She believed so anyhow, it was just what she believed and her family along with her. "I think," she said genuinely as an afterthought, looking like a child as she actually thought about the names, "that Jaden sounds much better than Wolf or Mr. Wolf."
Sibyl could see that Jaden was suffering but more so than that she could feel him crying on the inside and it was beginning to really bother her. Her lavender eyes actually began tearing without warning for she certainly hadn't given them permission to unleash the salty, watery liquid that was now forming in the creases of her eyes. "I've never known what it feels like to lose the person that understands me most in the world for I haven't found that person. However, I've whitnessed it happen. My sister lost her mate right before her eyes and I was there for the aftermath. The only reason she kept going was because of her children and there was nothing I could do to bring her back. I felt so helpless and utterly useless and I hate that it's happening again. I hate being helpless and useless."

Jaden couldn't help but smile slightly. "Jade was murdered almost seven centuries ago. There really wouldn't have been anything you could have done." Standing up he walked to Sibyl and wrapped his arms around her. "I've had several mates over my lifespan, All of them dead, not all of them nice."

Sibyl noticed his smile and was somewhat baffled by it seeing as though he was mourning for his mate and had been approximately a second ago before that smile appeared on his face. She tilted her head to the side to show her confusion, a very wolf-like gesture and movement of her since both wolves and dogs alike did that when they were confused. "There wasn't really anything I could have done for my sister's mate, either. I wasn't there either. I only arrived after it was too late ..." Her soft voice was tainted with disappointment and disapproval at what'd happened.
When Jaden's arms wrapped around her, at first her instinct screamed at the possible threat that Jaden could be to her. He was bigger, stronger and he had her in his arm, trapped and she was truly vulnerable. Yet something about him having his arms around her was comforting at the same time and soon enough she found herself leaning back into his chest, her tiny head rested against his masculine, battle scarred chest. "Not all of them nice? What other mates did you have and what did they do that made them not nice?"
