Riza is alright ^_^ She's cool in a way, in my oppion, she's one of thoses characters that only a few people hate

Master-Kris I just realised....I love Riza's Dog training! In the manga, it says (sometihng like this at least...) "And from that day, all the people of East HQ vowed to never disobey the 1st Lieutenant."

~Wings.of.Faith~ Yes, First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye is someone I really like. First of all, she's specially trained with firearms which from what I've seen is really neat. She's disciplined and strict, in a way known as the 'perfect soldier'. She helps Roy around, which I always think theres a 'hint hint' there. Her canine dog Black Hayate is another thing I love about her. How he becomes obediant and slightly strict as well from her teachings. But from the dog you can see a kindness side of her, one of the things that makes her seem...well....more human ^ ^;
Another thing I like about her is how loyal she is to her subordinates and especially Roy Mustang. She's smart and helps Roy when making rash decisions and it seems like from all of it she is the only one that Roy has left, knowing the things he's been through. She's a great character in the show/manga. Yeah... (something from the manga, chapter 50): Roy: Just in case something happens to me, go and escape on your own. Riza: I don't want to. Roy: It's an order. Riza: I can't consent to that. Roy: Stubborn, aren't you? Even if you can't stomach the order, you'll have to swallow it. Riza: I like to say that i have an honest personality. Roy: I'm happy that i have a subordiante who has a strong will like you. I understand. I'll definitly come back so wait. Riza: Yes sir. I wish you luck.

That is another thing I love about Hawkeye. The way she talks to Roy is so different than any other person he really talks to. She can talk back yet he doesn't threaten her or anything like that, as if she gets away with it. That was funny right there too. Thats what I like, she is very loyal to him and Roy says it himself.
One of the things I like is the way she dresses up as someone else. Disgusing is something that seems so interesting about her. In the game she does that, in the manga, slightly in the Anime series as well. That and she always takes Fuerys extra pair of glasses ^ ^;
And the most point of anime is to have different characters. Riza is indeed, different than any preppy kawaii girl. And thats what makes her so independent. The way she works, the way she gets things done. Sure she may threaten Roy to work and may trip him from doing rash decisions, but its how serious she does it that makes it even better. Yes she is barely known in the anime, but she still had a perfect role to play. She's Roy's aid, ever since you know who's death, in a way its all that Roy has left, which always gives that 'hint hint' idea.
Tha manga they show her more and I like that. The way she fights with not only pistols, but rifles, shotguns, and snipers as well. Her dog is slightly shown as well how he can fight back to protect his Mistress. And of course the Barry the Chopper thing I really liked, it kinda gives her a slight spunk in her.
Though, when you think about her a little bit more....The slight sadness you can see in her...I mean... All of Roy's subordinates support him yes, but they do have others lives as well. Falman lives in the apartment and has Barry with him for a time. Havoc always trying to get a girlfriend. Breda would play foreign chess with others, Fuery works on communications and someimtes will go to his dorm. And Hughes of course has a family, yet they all still work for Roy. But Hawkeye...she seems different...It almost seems like all she does is work. Maybe shop for groceries and take care of the dog, but thats pretty much all you see left of her. Which I bring up the 'hint hint' again cause she seems really devoted to her work, not saying the others aren't. They make it seem like she could have a side life, but she decides to just stick with work, and her dog.
One of the rumors I've been hearing, I heard it was offical, but I'm not saying it is, though I would laugh if it was. The guy that Roy plays chess with. I forgot his name...That old man. I've heard rumors and in the manga he evens says "I would like you to marry my granddaughter, she will marry and be the next Furhers wife" of course Roy says "Don't think too ahead General." I've been hearind the rumors that the old man could be Hawkeye's grandfather. I'm not saying HE IS. JUST RUMOR. But, to think about it, I would really laugh hard if it was true.
Man I talk or what. But thats how I really think about Hawkeye. She's one of those characters that makes you wish you could know more about her, but obviously does shows what she's capable of.

Yes, that old general (who is identified in Chapter Fifty as Lieutenant General Gumman) is indeed Riza's grandfather, her maternal one at that. That just seems to keep adding more to the whole hint hint thing you mentioned. 3nodding

Riza would be my second favourite character (care to guess who my first favourite would be, heh heh).
I think one reason why some people would hate her is the same reason why people hate Kikyou and Kagome from Inuyasha. It's because the Roy Mustang rabid fangirls see Riza as their rival.

I think she kicks a** and is kinda cool...well...cool for a girl. The way she can handle a gun and how sharp her shooting is....sigh....i wish i could do that....but...knowing me...if i tried to do that....i'd already be dead cuz my shooting SUX!!!..............................unless i have a laser thingy that shows me where i should shoot xp
