Alex stared at the glowing page. "Well.. that's an interesting twist." A weak laugh escaped as she looked around the group. "This... isn't a bad thing is it?" Worry clouded her face.

"Um...." Was all chirigami could muster as she watched a page light up all pretty like. Books.... didn't do that, did they? She took a simple step back, not sure if the book would blow up or anything, oh like that would help with one step back. Oh well, chiri thought as she just watched with nervous interest.
Orihime, took an active interest in the pretty glowing that the book was doing. If at all possible, her little tag wagged faster and faster as her teal eyes widened and took in the pretty light that it was emitting. Sou pretty heart

While Oliver was not yet exactly capable of making connections with the minds of others, he had found that emotions were rather easy to read...and right now there wasn't a single reassuring emotion in the air except Ave's, so it was only for the best that he had no idea she wasn't even paying attention. He relaxed a bit, but kept his head against the Ieldi for comfort, his large purple eyes exploring the surroundings for Hime.

The situation was even beyond Avelena's ability to ignore and she blinked a couple times to look over and see...well...something she didn't quite expect. What was a book doing GLOWING? This wasn't too odd, things like this had happened almost everytime the Pantheon was around, but she had been so out of it that this took her off gaurd. She rolled backward and leapt to her feet in surprise.
"What is it doing?!"

"Um...." chiri repeated, "It's... glowing." Thank you captain obvious, said one of the voices in her head... well, it was! And the only other action chiri could do was shrug, she was just as lost as everyone on this matter. She just hopped it didn't blow up, that'd probably hurt.
Orihime was just so excited! She had never really seen something so pretty before really. She turned her head towards Oliver and blinked at his current state, was he scared? why? She bounced over to him and the little Ieldi and yipped in glee, the glowing was so pretty!

A high pitched, unnatural laughing split the air as the symbols on the book began to disappear one by one, soon leaving only the strange picture of the two people.
A deathly silence fell after that, as if the surrounding animals were all sharing a moment of collective "Wtf?-ness."
Karasu scratched the back of her head. "Well that was-"
Suddenly the floor beneath them began to rumble, a sound like thunder peeling through the air as the grass split apart, opening into blackness as the entire group fell into a widening chasm.
"AaaaGghhh!!!!" Karasu screamed as she tumbled down the hole, scratching her elbows on the dirt as she flailed.
Imriel whined, shutting her eyes tightly as she flaped widely, trying to halt her descent. She only succeded in making her landing softer.. or that was actually because she landed on Rasu.
"Uuf...!" Karasu lay pinned on what felt like a stone floor.. Gods.. Imriel was small but the impact had knocked the wind out of her. Stars danced before her eyes in the darkness.

Letting out a shriek of fright, Kujaku took off, wings spread as he lifted off of the ground. It was back... the monster was back and it was going to kill them!! "BROTHER!" he screamed, not even knowing Koniryu's name, only the title that had been given to him as well.
The only problem with his plan was that he was good enough at flying with his own weight... but with the little Kyunru in his arms, his small wings just couldn't keep him aloft and he felt himself falling down after Karasu and Imriel.

Zydeco shrilled out in fright, why did she come! She fell downt he hole just like all the others but as soon as the sides of the whole was felt she tried her best to latch on. She had no idea how deep this hole was, and so she dug her fingers into the wall. The dirt was very clumpy and in the end it was no use. She fell down with the rest and landed on the stone flooring, head first. She felt completely stunned and as soon as she shakily viewed the ceiling she fell into unconciousness.
(oh yeah...she hurt her head...isn't she smooth)

Koniryu's eyes narrowed to mere slits and his ears flattened at the sound of the laughter - and then they were falling! It was so sudden he didn't have much of a chance to react. He did manage to land on both feet, but stumbled almost into the nearest wall at the bottom.
As soon as he had his bearings, he whirled around, robes billowing, looking around for any impending danger and to see if everyone was okay... just in time to hear Kukaju above him. He leaped quickly upwards, managing to catch the Ieldi and Kyunru at the height of his jump, coming back to earth with a grunt. This time he fell on his backside, but at least the two little ones were okay...

Avelena took a deep, calming breath...it was only a glowing book, hell, she'd seen weirder than that! Hrm, what was that sound though, oddly familiar laughter that's what that was, she wondered where it was familiar from...
"Eeerchk...Oww!," she cried out loudly as her bottom hit the hard rock ground below...her mind immediately raced to Oliver and how she could possibly let him out of her sight.
Oliver made use of what he could with his paws as he clung to the Ieldi that appeared to be his only protection at the moment...what was happening!

Alex clamped both hands to her ears as the laughter sliced through the air. The ground trembled beneath her feet. Her gaze shifted from the ground to Karasu and Imriel as they were the first to fall. As the ground caved below her, she prayed that she wouldn't land on anyone.
The dust still clung to the air as Alex pushed herself into a sitting position. It was hard to see through the falling dirt, but she could hear as people called to others.

As the earth opened under her, the only thought passing through her head is I knew it'd blow up, I knew it! She lands hard on her butt, and curses colourfully. "Owww..."

Chiri's red eyebrow raised at the sound of the laughter and then... a hole was beginning to surface beneath them, "Oh That's just biza-AAAH!" She screamed and flailed and flapped her arms in some attempts.... to do something. But nothing, and then she hit the ground head first. "OW!" She whined in pain, oh gawd she hated holes! This was just like the last hole and she had fallen on her head the last time too!
Orihime, didn't know what to think of the events. The pretty lights were gone and then there was some weird shaking and then... a hole. She let out a small squeak as her body fell down after the others. It was, a bit fun, she had to admit, thought a bit sudden, but thankfully she managed to land on her feet. Wait, ow... that still kind of hurt gonk

Kujaku let out a wail as he clung to Olivir and at the same time, tried to latch onto Koniryu as best he could. "It'scomingit'scomingit'sgonnakilleveryonewehavetoRUN!!" His words all ran together in his panic, the boy's wide green eyes flicking aroudn as if expecting to see the Beast descending on them at any moment.

"No, no, it's not... it's okay," Koniryu said awkwardly, tryign to soothe the frightened Ieldi, even as his mind churned over what was going on, where they were.. the laughter...
The words stuck in his throat.
