THE NEXT DAY...
Echo waited as long as she dared before entering her Defense Against the Dark Arts, then bolted in and hid in a shadowy corner of the bench. A few other Slytherins glanced at her disdainfully. Footsteps sounded in the corridor...Echo fingered her invisibility cloak.
"To hell with it," she muttered, flinging the cloak over herself and huddling deeper into the shadows.

Mischa woke up later on that night, wondering what had caused her sudden return to conciousness. She then realised with horror that someone had their arm around her waist. She let out a yelp and leapt up into a sitting position on the bed. Rookwood was lying next to her.
"Hello, luv," he said, smiling at her. "Feeling better?"
"What the hell are you doing?" Mischa shrieked, looking horrified.
"The Dark Lord told me to keep an eye on you," he replied. "And you looked a bit of a mess, so I tidied you up..." He then leered at her. "You look a lot prettier without leaves and twigs stuck in your hair and dirt all over your face..."
Mischa recoiled from him, looking disgusted.
Ew... Creepy Death Eater, creepy Death Eater, creepy, old, seedy, pockmarked Death Eater... Yuck, yuck yuck! Mischa thought.
She then shifted sideways towards the edge of the bed. Rookwood shifted over too. Mischa continued to shift over, and Rookwood continued to follow her until she fell onto the floor.
"Are you alright, luv?" Rookwood asked, leaning over the edge of the bed.
"Yes..." Mischa growled.
"Are you going to get up?"
"No..."
"Why not?"
"I happen to like it on the floor."
"Alright then, luv," Rookwood said softly, smiling at her. "Goodnight."
Mischa merely sniffed.

Meanwhile, Daft crouched beneath a table...
Greyback was stalking around, guarding the entrance, swearing.
"Something don't smell right..." he kept muttering to himself,"Something smells fishy..."
Daft stood up.
"Er...Hi! Lovely night for...uh torturing...um...stuff," she tried to smile convincingly, before remebering the hood.
"I see..." said Greyback, staring at her suspiciously. Then he smiled.
"Seen Bellatrix lately, Avery?" he asked her.
"Um...yeah...downstairs by the-"
"Hah! An intruder!" he yelled triumphantely,"Avery's in london!" Greyback advanced menacingly.
"Curses, time for plan B..." Daft drew out a pumpkin shaped squeaker.
"FETCH!" she threw it out of the window.

In the room next to Rookwood's bedroom, Macnair and Dolohov were having an extremely loud argument about... something stupid. Rookwood wrapped the nearest pillow around his head in an attempt to block the noise out, but to no avail. He readied himself to yell out various insults at them, but Mischa, who was still on the floor, beat him to it.
"SHUT UP AND LET ME SLEEP, YOU PAIR OF MISERABLE B*****DS! OR I WILL COME IN THERE AND NAIL THE BOTH OF YOU TO THE CEILING VIA YOUR TONGUES!" she yelled, banging on the wall.
Grumbling noises could be heard for a few seconds, then silence.
"Wow..." Rookwood muttered in amazement. He smiled to himself, then fell asleep. And started snoring. Loudly. And it was Mischa's turn to grab the nearest pillow and wrap it around her head.

"Huh..." said Daft, looking up at the narrow corridor.
It was dark and gloomy, several small skeletons lined the floor and the cobwebs were so thick, small lizards had been-
"That way!" said Daft, turning to the opposite corridor.
This corridor was so dark, no forms were visible. But there was a slightly sweet and penetrating stench that wound its way out though the-
"Um..." Datf turned around, looking for more options.
"WHERE THE BL***Y H*** DID IT GO!?" came Fenrir's voice from outside.
Daft took the skeletony corridor.

Poor Mischa only got an hour's sleep that night. When she woke up, she found that Rookwood had levitated her back onto the bed and had resumed cuddling her. Looking disgusted, she pushed him off her, causing him to wake up startled.
"Oh, it's just you," he said, "did you have a nice sleep, luv?"
He lifted her chin up and looked into her face. But, judging by the dark shadow that had formed under her eyes and extremely grumpy look on her face, he supposed not.

"-brings the total of squished skeletons up to seve-"
Crunch!
"Eight..." Daft decided that the first thing she was going to do when she got back was to have a bath.
"Never again!" she muttered,"Next time, Mishca can save herself!"
She came to another door. She opened it.
And hastily shut it again as a flash of green light followed her.
"Can't a Lord of doom and chaos etc etc.. get a little privacy around here!?" Voldemort's voice followed.
Daft gingerly proceeded up the corridor.
Crunch!
"I hate mondays..." she muttered.

Rookwood tilted his head to one side as he continued to look at Mischa.
"What's your name, luv?" he asked.
"Why the h*** would I tell you that?" Mischa replied, sounding annoyed.
"Because if you don't, I might just hurt you," he said threateningly, his grip on her chin tightening.
"Well, I'm not telling. So if you want to know, you will have to guess," she said defiantly. He looked at her with an eyebrow raised.

Daft her screaming, yelling and a variety of frankly dreadful swearwords.
"Mischa!" she said, perking up. She headed towards the source of the noise, and came to a door with a pink flowery sign saying, 'Do not disturb-or else!'
Daft blew it up.
"Mischa!" she yelled, joyfully running into the rrom" Are you-What happened to you!?"
She looked at the figure infornt of her.
"You're all...ugly and stuff..."
Rookwood twitched.

"Daft!" Mischa cried, looking extremely pleased to see her. "What are you doing here?"
But before Daft could answer, Rookwood wrapped his arms around Mischa, pulled her close to him and held his wand to her throat.
"Hand over your wand and get on the ground. Do it, or- Mischa, is it?- dies!" Rookwood snarled at Daft. He then turned back to Mischa and whispered in her ear.
"Mischa... what a pretty name..."
Mischa looked more disgusted then ever.

Professor Mcgonagal was in the middle of explaining about the missing students - and teacher - while Echo squirmed guiltily in her seat.
"If you have any information, now is the time to share it," Mcgonagal finished gravely. The bell went and Echo wandered outside, looking at the forest.
"Merde!" she muttered vehemently, kicking a gargoyle inneffectively.

Daft had a vision of the future-it was orange and included a large black board.
"Pumpkins it is then!"
"Eh-"began Rookwood, but was interrupted by a flash of light.
"And I'm going to get detention..." muttered Daft, finishing interpreting.
She looked up.
"Oh dear..."In front of her lay two slightly smoking pumpkins.
Hearing footsteps behind her, she made a quick decision. Stuffing both wands into her pocket, she took a deep breath and shut her eyes.
"Wingardium Leviosa"she yelled, waving her wand vaguely. When she opened her eyes again, she sighed with relief.
Both pumpkins were floating obediently above her, there where no extra pumpkins in sight, all in all, the spell seemed to have worked.
True, one of the pumpkins was a nasty shade of green, but that was to be expected under the circumstances.

Despite both being pumpkins, a large variety of swear words and insults were being thought of by Mischa and Rookwood, ready to be directed at Daft when they were returned to their normal state.

Daft leapt out of the window and rolled.
"Right, where am I?" she asked, looking around.
"Not a place you'd want to be..." growled Fenrir evilly.
"Oh sh- I mean; Botheration!" she turned around, directing the pumpkins between her and the were wolf.
"Oh hello! I didn't know you were here, I'll just take my pumpkins and go!" she started scurrying backwards.
"You can't go," whined Fenrir," I'm hungry, why don't you stay for dinner?"
Even in her state of most-likely-mortal-peril Daft winced at the highly overdone and rather corny cliche.

If Mischa wasn't a pumpkin, she would have whacked Daft over the head for getting the pair of them into such a dangerous situation. If Rookwood wasn't a pumpkin, he would have yelled at Greyback until he helped him out. But both of them were pumpkins, so they simply sat there. Being pumpkiny.
