Ashe tilted her head to the side, confused. Her friend had just stopped playing, there was no more fun. Aww. Ashe was tempted to pout--but Fiara might not understand what it was for, would she? She sighed, How well do I really know her?
Ashe's gaze followed her friends and she watched as the movement of her fingers made the fire dance and spark. "...It would kweh depend on how high you kweh went up," She pointed out softly, smiling faintly, "But I sssure that if you wanted kweh to, you could dissappear, though...I's kweh be a bit ssssad," She added softly, voice barely a whisper.
"Ahhhh," She waggled a finger at her friend again, "You [ikweh never know that!" She replied sternly, "Perhapssss you kweh can sssing, you jussst kweh don't think you can." She sighed softly and shook her head, "I want you to kwehp sssing it for me sssometime, kweh, Fiara." She nodded once, determined.

"But could you?" Ashe had said nothing more and Fiara realized that the teasing was just that, teasing and it was doing no harm, she could continue the back and forth as they made their way to Ashe's home, more welcome than silence. "I think you would stop me, if you wanted to but could you, could you catch me to stop me?" She twitched her wings, fluttering them.
"I don't want to disappear," She shook her head and tilted her face towards Ashe, "just the opposite of that. I want to be accepted. Cared about. Happy." She made a face, "Less corny." And smiled, with a small laugh at herself.
"I don't know it, but I feel it. My father, Xiang, he has a good voice and so does daddy Renem, so do my brothers, in my opinion though I've never heard them sing." Fiara thought her voice was too soft, to much nocturne, that it held a male quality, her view could of been askew due to the fact that most all of the voices she'd grown up with were male aside from her fiery father's. "Sometime, I can't promise that you'll enjoy it but I will, sometime, for you."

Ashe blinked as the teasing was suddenly resumed. "Hmm..." She thought, tapping a paw to her chin, "doubtful, very kweh doubtful." She shrugged helplessly, "I do not like to kweh fly much at all and even kweh if I did, one cannot catch the sssky." She pointed out with a soft smile.
Ashe looked at her friend, "Ach, that isss kweh not corny," She protested, smiling, "It isss sssomething everyone kweh wantsss; to be accepted." She nodded sagely, smiling, "And there will kweh alwaysss be ssssomeone out there that kweh will accept you for who you are, not kweh becaussse of sssomething elssse." She squeezed the night-sky females paw, gently.
Ashe laughed softly and shook her head, "I doubt anyone kweh in my family can ssing," She pointed out, grinning, "It isss kweh interesssting to know that an entire family can kweh sssing and do it kweh well," A giggle; this was certainly new information!
"Of courssse I'll kweh enjoy it, Fiara; it'sss your voice, how could I not?" She replied simply and honestly because it was the truth.

Fi smiled in mock smugness, "Only if the sky wanted to be caught, would it let anyone catch it." She raised up her free hand holding it at a high angle and spread out her flaming fingers, she took a step away from Ashe, though still clasping her hand, completing the posture that resembled flight if her arms were wings.
Fiara squeezed back, she felt the tingle of an urge in her arm, though it slipped away swiftly with only a faint blush to even show that it had been there at all. "Where do we find numa like that? Do they grow on trees somewhere?" She looks up and away to the leafy boughs above her to hide the brief warmth that had come to her cheeks.
"Welll," Fiara had to admit, "I don't know for sure if they can all sing well, I just imagine that they could if they wanted to, I know for sure that father does, he sings when he is happy, or cooking, or lullabies... He has such a more feminine voice than I do. I just think that the rest of them would sing well given that I like their voices. I like your voice too Ashe, would you, sing with me, maybe, sometime, if I sing for you, then I wouldn't be so embarrassed to do it as it wouldn't be my voice alone."

Ashe stuck her forked tongue out at her friend defiantly, "Yeah, yeah, I kweh get the picture." She grumbled softly, though the amusement never left her face or eyes. Her friend's pose was something that suited her; Ashe would nevere have been able to pull something like that off.
A chuckle escaped as she felt her paw be squeezed, "No, no, they kweh aren't common like that," She chided, batting at her friend gently, "Thosssse kweh numasss do not grow kweh on treesss, one mussst find them," She shrugged helplessly, "Or at leassst, that'ssss kweh what they ssssay." She sighed softly, "Whether or kweh not it'ssss true isss an entirely kweh differnet matter." She glanced up at the dark sky, "But one can kweh hope, can't they?" She murmured softly.
"Nyaaa, then it kweh can be true, can't it?" She shook her head, "All I kweh know isss that mossst of my family cannot. With the kweh exception of Auntie Kechara and Kohane. Maybe kweh Gabriel too...." She giggled, "Sssscratch kweh that, Gabriel'd sssing even if he kweh wasssn't very good at it."
She paused in her reminising and tilted her head at her friend, "Ach you kweh wouldn't want me," She waved a paw dismissively, "Besssides, my "kweh's" and lissssp would kweh get in the way." She pointed out, unsure of how to answer to such a question. Her ears flicked back and forth for a moment and then she shrugged, "Well, if it will kweh make it easssier for you then I sssshall try? Or..." She rumbled softly and shrugged, unable to add to her words.

"Oh Ashe, I know you don't like flyin all that much, that doesn't mean I'd fly away and leave you behind or anything." Fiara was speaking in present terms, she considered Ashe her best friend after all. Who in their right mind would leave a friend behind especially if she was sick? Fiara smiled and lowered her arm taking a step that brought her closer again to the green female, she swung her arms a little moving Ashe's with. "Catch the sky to stop it from worrying... You know I bet you could outsmart the sky Ashe," She turned her head to give Ashe the once over, "Yup, if force won't due another method should be tried."
Fiara had turned her gaze back to Ashe to catch her profile as the other gazed away at the sky. She didn't say anything for a moment but felt maybe a little loneliness from Ashe, in truth herself was a bit lonely but she had brought upon herself and now she had to bring herself out of it, and Ashe too, She doesn't deserve to be lonely either, Fiara thought. "I'm sure it's true, our own parents are an example I think, they found each other."
Fiara burst with enthusiasm, she'd unintentionally cut of Ashe if she'd wanted to continue. "But that's what makes it fun, there's no rule that says that you have to be really good or even have a good voice, or even know all the words to the song that you are singing, if you are just singing for fun. Like I said I like your voice, it wouldn't be the same without the long ess sound and the kweh is cute." The words were out in a rush and then she didn't have anything else to add for a moment the word cute echoed loudly in her own ears, or was that just her imagining. There's nothing wrong with thinking it was cute or even admitting it, right? "I'd like it anyway, if you would."

Ashe raised an eyebrow at her friend, "Outsssmart the kweh ssky?" A chuckle and a shake of her head, "I don't know if I kweh could, you know." She mused, shrugging her green shoulders. She shook her head, laughing, "Why would I kweh want the sssky to do anything for me?" She grinned and looked at her friend, "I've got my kweh own piece right here, don't I?"
A long green ear flicked back to Fiara's words and she shrugged absently, "But that'sss kweh them and not usss." She pointed out, "They've found each other in kweh thisss place, but who sssaysss that we kweh can? Love doesssn't kweh grow on treesss, you have to kweh find it." She sighed, "But mossst kweh people jussst don't know where to look." A rueful smile graced her lips.
Ashe managed to look a bit put-off by her friends words, though the single syllable of "cute" made her heart quicken for a moment, "But the entire kweh point of sssinging isss becuassse it'sss kweh a beautiful voice itsssself. I wouldn't be kweh able to sssing myssself becaussse of the lisssp and "kweh"sss I make. I don't kweh like be bad at thingsss." She stuck her tongue out in mild dislike. She just didn't like doing things that showed how bad she was at something.

"Well, maybe not the whole sky, but this little ol bit right here, definitely smarter," Fiara still grinned to show that she was playing. "Oh I don't know, how about if; you told the sky, "A nice day today." and it listened and then it was nice out?"
"I know love doesn't grow on trees, but you're right if we knew where to look it would make it easier," Fiara wibbled a bit as she walked hand in hand with Ashe, "but but, you know," Fiara had never admitted this and her talk with Azami and only made her more sure. "I like to think that there is just one numa out there for me and when I find him or her then I'll just know, we'll just know. Maybe it's an immature dream, but I still think it won't just be anyone, but the perfect someone." She held out her pinky and said quietly, "Maybe I've been listening to too many stories."
"I don't think that's the whole point of singing. It should be for your own enjoyment first of all." Fiara thought about it, sure there were things she was bad at, but that only made her want to try harder so she could get better at them, singing was one of those things, she couldn't compare with her fiery father but she still wanted to sing, "Another time maybe? When you are feeling better." She nodded firmly with a smile on her lips, now if only I can translate the words and sing the song for her, to show her.

Ashe shook her head simply, smiling, "Ach, don't put yourssself, kweh, down, Fiara; you're very smart." She ruffled the other numa's hair gently, grinning lopsidedly.
She shrugged dismissively, "Bah, "nice dayssss" aren't kweh "nice" by mosssst people'ssss sssstandardssss. I kweh love the rain." She smiled sheepishly, "I don't know why, but kweh pretty much everyone in my family doessss. We flock kweh to it esssspecially at night." She grinned sheepishly, embarrassed, "It bringssss ussss kweh together, I think."
Ashe chuckled and shook her head, "Yeah, sssomtimess I kweh think that too," She sighed softly, glancing up at the sky once more, "And then kweh other timesss I think I'll be all alone." She shook her head, shrugging, "I don't kweh know which one to accept." Indeed. She didn't think she'd be able to find anyone, but that didn't mean her friends and family couldn't. Oh, well, she wasn't going to dwell on it too much with others.
Ashe gave her friend a lopsided grin, "I can't kweh really enjoy thingsss if I'm not good at kweh them," She confided softly, shrugging her shoulders, "I feel like kweh I'm hurting othersss more than kweh providing enjoyment." Another lop-sided grin, "Yeah, sssure. I'll kweh sssee what I can do." Answering nod was given to the first to confirm.

Fiara made to flatten her hair swiftly but then Ashe had already seen her scar, "I don't mean it to put myself down, it was supposed to be compliment, but I guess it came out weirdly, huh?" Instead she ruffled Ashe's own hair, "Now we match." She poked out her tongue and returned the grin,. All this time walking and talking with Ashe, she had smiled more than she had in a long time, her heart felt light as well, as if things wouldn't always be as bad as they had been.
Fi's ears perked at Ashe's description of a 'nice day', "That's so nice~" She murmured, "Well then if you told the sky 'nice day' I'd have to remember my umbrella~" Fiara giggled, she really loved the rain, but she did not like getting wet. Besides causing her hand to steam and sputter it made her feel worn out to get all wet, but sitting just inside the cave she shared with her fathers and brothers watching the sky, flashes of lightening, the sound it made on the tree leaves and the smell, it was indeed very nice.
"Really?" It was a comfort to know that she was not the only one to think that way, but it made her sad, Ashe's loneliness something she couldn't bare. "Oh. You don't have to accept either, you know Ashe, you'll always have me as your friend, even if we find mates, we'll always be the best of friends, don't you think? And that way, we won't be alone." Fiara felt a sort of sad weight when she spoke the words, they were sincere, spoken truely, but sad.
Fiara kept pressing the subject, "What about yourself? Do you ever want to do things for your own enjoyment, even if you're not already good at them?" Fiara thought, if they were going to be best friends forever, then she should know what Ashe liked to do and didn't like to do, so that she wouldn't make uncomfortable requests.

Ashe sighed and paused for a moment, turning her friend around, "Don't hide it, Fiara," She murmured, staring at her in the eyes, "Ssscarss are kweh ssscarss, you can't do anything kweh more than accept and learn from them," She sighed softly, shaking her head, "But if you kweh really want to, I can't make any decisssions kweh for you." She held up her burned paw, "But I'm kweh going to accept thiss."
A smile graced her lips again and she promptly set off walking again as if nothing had just happened. "Umbrella?" A giggle, "I kweh never ussse one of thossse," she winked, "I love getting kweh wet, it'sss part of the kweh fun!" She did love it. She felt more alive than any other time when she was caught out in the rain.
Her smile faded a bit, "Ach," She rumbled, shrugging her green shoulders, "Accept or kweh don't accept, doesssn't matter to me." She mused softly. She looked at her friend calmly, "I hope you kweh find a mate sssomeday, Fiara," She proclaimed, "But I'm kweh afraid I'm going to have to make sssure he'ssss--" A grin, "--Acceptable for you, you kweh know." She nodded firmly, only half-joking.
"We'll never kweh be alone," She confirmed softly and sighed, "Thisss isss kweh so cliche." A laugh followed the statement quickly.
"Enjoyment?" Ashe shrugged, "Sssometimesss I kweh practice my sssnake-like abilitiesss with kweh Coatl to make sssure I'm not going to fall out of kweh practice sssoon." A shrug, "But I mossstly ssstick to kweh thossse things that I'm pretty good at." Was that uncommon or something?

Biting her lip, Fiara brushed her bangs to the side with her right hand, with her left she palmed Ashe's burned paw and really looked at the wound that had no right being there, "You can and you have but I won't fault you for it, I won't fault myself either, it happened and we go on from there, that's what I have to do." But I won't let it happen again, I can't live with myself if I hurt you. There was a determined look in her eyes, both still shone with emotions even if she could only really see from one.
"Maybe I could enjoy it too, if I was with you during a storm, maybe your energy would rub off on me?" Speaking of which, "You seem to be feeling better?" It could just be that she had gotten her mind off it, but from Fiara's point of view she thought maybe the sickness was passing.
"Or she." Fiara added but smiled anyway at the protectiveness that Ashe shared with her fathers, even if she didn't know it. "As much as I hope to find that special someone, I'm not in a big rush to go tasting horns and prayin' to the Swan, I don't think I want pups just yet, though it would be fun to tell my dads that they're grandfathers, I don't want to grey their fur just yet." Fiara when on, "Pups are something big, it's not like you're guaranteed to get them just 'cause you pray, you gotta want them and be ready for them..." It's supposed to be every numa's dream, find a mate have pups and watch them grow up, Fiara wasn't against pups, she just wasn't as sure about them as her own fathers had been.
She shook her head and sweated "I didn't mean to just go on and on like that. I don't mean to sound cliche either," she made a face that showed the uncomfortableness that she felt inside, was it wrong somehow, what she wanted to express without knowing exactly what it was.
"I bet Coatl enjoys that too." Fiara spoke softly with a smile, she couldn't imagine what it was exactly that Ashe would practice with her little wind serpent but it was still something interesting to learn.

Ashe laughed and shrugged, wondering if that was possible, "I sssuppossse that kweh could happen," She admitted, "But who knowsss? Your kweh flame-hand could go kweh out, and what would we do then?" She smiled, wondering if it was possible for that to happen and what would happen to Fiara if it did.
Ashe shrugged helplessly, "Ssshe? Okay." A grin, "If that'sss the kweh way you ssswing." A wink, what did it matter to Ashe? Love was love, gender was unimportant.
Pausing she shook her head, "Pupsss?" She repeated looking at her friend curiously, "Thossse haven't kweh even crossssed my mind." She shrugged again and thought for a moment, "Pupsss are kweh all well and good but the parentssss have to kweh be ready, Like my father and kweh mother." She nodded as if to confirm it, "But sssince you kweh have to have a mate firssst I kweh doubt anything like that will happen to me kweh anytime ssssoon."
Ashe waved her damaged paw dismissively, "I wassss kweh actually referring to myssself, love," She laughed softly, shaking her head, "I sssuppossse my wordsss were kweh jussst too garbled to underssstand." She stuck out her long tongue in disgust.
She sighed and shook her head, "I think I'm kweh getting a bit better," She admitted at last, surprised, "Who kweh knew it would passs like thisss?" A faint grin and a shake of her head, "Jussst in time to reach my home kweh too."
There it was, or at least, the sound of it. There was a waterfall nearby and anyone who visited her home heard the waterfall before they saw the house. It was a unique and amusing indication of where they were.

"Go out?" Fiara blinked, that wasn't something she had ever thought of, even with all the trouble the flames had caused. "Well if I put my paw in liquid, it does douse it of course, but it sorta wants to be lit, it will boil the liquid if I left it in long enough but then when I take it out and it dries enough it combusts again. Its not likely to go out because of rain either cause it's not really condensed enough, it dries to quickly, you see?"
Fiara could only giggle, "He or she. Love is love. Swinging has nothing to do with it." She nodded sagely and giggled more. "So how would you go about testing as to whether or not this future numa is acceptable, O defender of my honor?" Fiara felt the same as Ashe when it came to pups, she said so, only a little embarrassed when she did.
Fiara shook her head and then admitted, "I guess I just don't understand what you meant about 'this being cliche'. You're not at all garbled."
Fiara's ears had perked and she smiled even in the dark she thought that the surrounding were lovely and she told Ashe so with a grin. The sound of water nagged at her a little though, would she have to get wet to gain entrance to Ashe's home? But she didn't worry on it for long, she remembered that Ashe had said that it was near a waterfall, not under it or anything. "Well I am glad if you are feeling better, thats a worry off my mind." Fiara still had plans to go and get some of the medicine plant as soon as she could.

Ashe blinked in surprise at her friend's explaination; she had never heard ofsuch a thing before. Wanting to combust so badly it boiled water? How strange. She wasn't about to complain though, before Fiara, she'd never even seen another creatre on fire constantly before. Who was she to say such a thing wasn't normal somewhere?
Ashe paused and appeared thoughtful for a moment, "You'ed have to be happy," She answered finally, aserious tone entering her voice, "You'd have to be happy with them no matter what and they would have to be the same. Love is love, but I wouldn't let you into a relationship where you could end up hurt." She noded once, as if to confirm it to both herself and the midnight girl.
Ashe laughed andwaved a paw in a dismissive gesture, "Nothing to worry about, Fi!" She answered, grinning, "I guess we both got confused, huh?"
Ashe shrugged, ears flicking back and forth to catch the tell-tale sounds, "Don't worry about your arm, Fi," She answered, almost sensing the question, "The waterfall is just near our home, not behind it or anything like that. It's not very big either, just a pretty piece of the landscape."
A firm nod and a smile, "I'm glad I'm feeling better too, that was embarrassing." She rubbed a paw againstthe back of her neck sheepishly, the feeling still lingering.
