i was extremely brave and PM'ed Josh and humbly offered my services, seeing as i'd seen him posting in a thread mentioning that he was looking for some new mods to trial and he wanted people from time zones outside the US..

So i fitted one requirement immediately, plus my age would have been a large deciding factor too.
I've had people PM'ing me now asking how i became a mod, i tell them that the other staff members chose them after watching your behaviour in the forums..no way am i telling anyone what i actually did, i think Josh would come and find me and shoot me if i did, he'd have a million PM's a day saying 'lyke, make me a mod zomg..'

i will admit that i'm finding it a bit of a trial.
as us 3 trial girls are the first new mods, there's nothing for us to learn from.

for example, when Josh replied to my first PM he said he'd looked through my posts and i seemed ok, when did i want to start, i said i can start now.
So i thought i'd then get a PM either telling me, or linking me to somewhere that told me, what my duties were, and maybe more importantly, what i wasn't to do.

but no, nothing..i got an email similar to the PM's here when you're promoted within a guild, and that was it..

so i'm sat here thinking WTF confused

i go off to the staff forum to look for rules and guide lines...nothing

we had to ask what we were supposed to do rolleyes and now we have people telling us conflicting things.

i tell you, one look in that staff forum makes it VERY plain that all the Mene staff are rather young, it's SO disorganised, they bicker amongst themselves, they get behind with picking the admin's choice and getting the donation items finished on time, the pixelists pick at each others work rolleyes

i want to give them all a good slap!

they were discussing next week's admins choice and someone i know is in the running, i commented that it would be cool to see a friend on the front page and another mod (Otohime) says.."i hope you wont tell her that we're considering her confused "

i mean ffs!! i wanted to give a very tart response to that, but i just thanked her for her vote of confidence in me..she's ignored that comment rolleyes

she has walked over me a little in the GD too, i've been active in a thread about botters during the day, in between running around moving posts by said botters, nice people were reporting them to me and saying what a good job i was doing and so on, i did post reminding people not to post in a spam thread, simply to report it. Otohime turns up 5 posts later and says exactly the same thing as if my post wasn't there, and tells people to feel free to PM her about such small issues as bots, also as if i hadn't done a damn thing the whole day. Felt like a real slap in the face to me, i wanted to post after her saying 'HELLOOOO, I am here you know..'

i wonder what her problem is neutral maybe she didn't like Josh taking me on without consulting her first..seeing as the other 2 mods were suggestions by the others, but i feel like i need to watch my back ninja
but it's hard not to slip up when you don't really know what you're doing!

Sorry to rant so much!! but i can't moan over there and i needed to vent before i burning_eyes

i just posted in the staff forum about my disbelief at there being no rule about begging.
i saw someone who had just signed up that minute go and beg in their first post last night, so i go to leap on them about it and find that i can't because there's no policy neutral

they really need to get their acts together, because once the site grows a bit more begging is going to become a real problem, there's not even a sticky in the charities forum for do's and dont's!
just pretty much do as you please!

well i think the donation items are out tomorrow, hope you guys like them, not too sure about either myself for various reasons but i shall be interested to see what the masses make of them.

That's his level of input usually, plus moaning about things not being ready.

Telling mods not to comment on pixel art seems rediculous to me, we're the first people to see this stuff, and we're not entitled to an opinion? so if we all think an item is horrible we're not allowed to say so because it might bruise the artist's ego?
I'd use the mods for opinions all the time if i was a pixelist, 6 people who will all have different tastes and opinions, if we all agree on an item, then there's a good chance that it will be popular, but what would i know huh?

i'd have given some opinions on this month's donation items too! because there's major faults with both of them.
the cloak of nature is a lovely idea and very well executed, but it doesn't match a single item on the site, and the hood on the cloak of healing really should be optional.
i assumed that the hood would mean that you couldn't wear any of the items that you have on your head, but now it's released i see the items show on top of the hood,which looks really dumb.
it's such a shame because without the hood that cloak would be a great asset to many an outfit, but with it, i'm unwilling to buy one.

but i'm not allowed to speak my opinion so..
