"Well, it's no picnic being a single parent to your own parent either," Sunrise said wearily. "And I'm always afraid I'm going to get an owl saying either one of two things. 1) My Dad's being taken away to an insane asylum, or 2) He's accidentally killed himself. I'm afraid that I won't be able to return next year, or even after Christmas."

"Don't say that Sun." Emily hugged her friend tight. "If they take him it's for the best, and you have to let it go. You can't always be there Sun, that's what I'm struggling with each time I leave home."

"That does make me feel better," Sunrise murmured. She leaned into the hug and closed her eyes, remembering the lsat time her mother held her like this.

"You need to be a kid Sun. You can't continue to take care of your father by yourself. You have to remember that you're only fifteen." Emily ran her fingers through Sunrise's hair. "I have to tell myself that each time I leave home, and I have to force myself to get on that train."

"I know Sun, and I love my mum." Emily smiled and looked up as she saw someone coming.
"Hey Emily, hey Sun." A very tall boy with blonde hair came up and kissed Emily lightly. "How have you been?"

"Hi Austin." Emily gasped as he kissed her, and then squealed not hearing Sunrise in the least.
(This is the guy I like in real life as well.)
"Hey Sun, if we wanted to rub it in we might do something like this." Austin picked Emily up and began kissing her neck.

"Austin!" Emily scrame it in shock at his big mouth.
