Keratin What I think is over-rated, is this s**t music they play on the radio. Oh wait are we only talking about art? Well there's there was this god awful art movemment called Dada... Or, oh, are we only talking about specific artists? Because I know this total d**k called Picasso who... Wait wait wait. I'm sorry. Are we mostly talking about contemporary artists, like the ones on internet. Man, I don't know how popular she is over-all, but there's this one artist that strikes me as being so over rated. She's got these crazy die-hard fans. Well, only one fan that I know of, but the fan is pretty close to me. And she's totally nuts over this artist, like you wouldn't beleive. I can't remember the artist's name though. It's like... the jew? Something like that, or maybe I have it all backwards. Whatever. Her art's really weird, and I think she has a condition that prevents her from typing legibly. At least, I assume it's a condition. What else could it be. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed...? Or with a huskey dude elbow deep in your colon? Chill out, senor.

zephyree the one i think is very overrated is http://ramy.deviantart.com/the time he as on gaia, selling bust shots pour hundreds of k was funny... he do wonderfull cg, with smooth colors, but i think every face look the same and got no emotions... that's sad, i'm sure he got potential to do very interesting things! he do very detailled backgrounds,great lights. that's not only the 'anime style' that distrub me, that's something deeper... iprolly said this already but it just makesme terribly sad when artists have all this cg skill and then apply it to subpar drawings @__@ j 3jjjj

Has anyone mentioned Messa on DA? ... her fanbase is HUGE. And I really don't understand how it could've gotten so big.

Oh, man, I agree with so much in here. It's amazing just how fanatic folk become in regards to one artist on dA. Kind of scary. Albeit, if it happened to me, I so wouldn't be complaining. XD Matt Busch -> This guy is my illustration prof right now. Not only do I think he's overrated (especially that movie he made..he made us watch it..we all wanted to die..isn't it bad enough we're poor college kids?), he's also got a huge ego and thinks he's better than sliced bread (whatev. sliced bread rocks). It's sad, since he's often a nice guy and ok prof..and his artwork is good too. But damn, if I could serve that guy some humble pie, maybe he wouldn't act like such a rock-star wannabe. I think a lot of it, when it comes to overrated folk, is that they're often complete dicks. It's so much easier for me to not care if they have some humility and don't think of themselves as a golden god.

That Pretty Gay One I don't like Nicole 1725's art very much, either. Granted, she does have a few good pieces here and there, but some of her anatomical mistakes are just so glaringly awkward that it makes me cringe. That and she's constantly telling people how much she sucks and, for some god-awfully irritating reason, can't use punctuation. AT ALL. I know this post is old but I would like to just comment on this. x_x I completly agree, I used to draw a lot at Pallid's oekaki where she likes to abuse her moderator title. She's extremly rude. >_<;

This sounds way too spiteful of me, but I really don't mind when people are super-successful in Gaia, because most of the time, they'll be treated like s**t-artists IRL.
I'm really not a fan of overly-smooth coloring in art (textures make me orgasm :B) so I never really liked Ramy in the first place. His style of anime eyes buggers the shiet out of me too. >< It's funny, though, because his realistic pieces aren't that bad. His anime stuff is sugarcoated.

Dov Charney makes me want to punch someone. What's really sad is that most of the fashion department in my school probably has at least one of his shirts and wears it like it's going out of style. on an unrelated note Conemonster is in one of my classes. She's obscenely cutesy and this one other girl eats up EVERYTHING she does. I'll admit i like her stuff but moreso because she's pretty good at Illustrator and i have no decent practice with vectors. Aside from that i told her her devart stuff looked very Japanese, and when i say Japanese i meant that it was very Gothic Lolita influenced, and she started freaking out like "OMG I HAVE NO STYYYYYLE D:" I thought it was kind of funny, but i'm also an a** like that. Since i don't think he's been brought up yet, I can't stand Bleedman. All i can think of when i see his stuff is how much he rips off Joe Madureira and that most of it is pretty damn ***** amazed Bara-Chan hasn't been brought up yet.

Jadie You know there are other stores besides Urban Outfitters... sweatdrop i am perfectly aware. I just made a simple comment based on a real situation i was in where i had money to buy clothes and after deciding i didn't like American Apparel very much i took it to urban outfitters (which was in the same part of downtown) do instead where i found the apparel vastly more interesting. other wise, i shop where ever.
