"Back in my day..." Ark mumbled, trailing off with a yawn. He had his arms stretched across the table, not really doing much. "What do you usually do at night?" he asked, only slightly clearer than before. "There are still a few hours to kill."

"I have two lovebirds and a sun parakeet," Ark said. "I wanted to get a macaw or a chicken or something, but that wasn't really a good idea for an apartment. The birds I already have sometimes cause problems, anyway. Are you afraid of them or something?"
