"S-So... what is this place?" Mithra asked as they walked down the dead streets of the underground sprawl.
"This is the city of Ollam, capital of the country of the same name." Archive said with a smile.
"Ollam... I've never heard of either..."
"That's because it was destroyed." Thornak said flatly, almost with regret.
"Destroyed? but this city-"
"A mere shadow of what used to be. Archive, is it possible to show a-"
"Yes, sir!" Archive held out her bracer, and a small futuristic city appeared, bustling with miniature cars and people.
"Wow! but there's forest above... What happened? Who destroyed it?"
The city sped up, then slowed as a massive blue-white beam obliterated everything, "The country of Alainn destroyed it in the war."
"What war?"
"The War of Demons." Thornak said gravely, "we had no choice..."
"You talk as if you were there!" Mithra exclaimed.
"I was..." Thornak drifted off.
---
In the hole, there was noting but dust and tiles some thirty feet down. some footprints broke the dust, and the echoes of Thornak, Mithra and Archive were the sounds that issued, warbled and faint, so that most of what they said was incomprehensible.
The only words that could be understood were Ollam and Demon.

"Ollam Demon," Bell muttered, leaning in closer to try to hear. She gripped a root that was sticking out to keep her balance and looked for a way down. There was nothing to see. GURGLE, her stomach complained loudly. With a sigh she made her decision. "H-hello?!?" she called into the hole below her. Again, even if they killed her, it'd be better than starving.

The girl led Thornak and Mithra to a massive structure, a pool surrounding it except for the single path that led to the large glass front. all around, water fell from the ceiling into the pool.
The sound of falling water drowned out the sound of the forgotten city coming to life.
---
The voices faded away, but the hum of 'Demon Magic' began to issue from the hole, growing louder. suddenly the ground lit up, as did the place below Bell, revealing tile, glass, dust, and carpeting. Bell was on top of a skylight to a multi-story mall, the food court, to be exact, which was the same place Thornak and Mithra had entered, minus being able to see what was there. Old signs lit up, showing images of burgers, hot dogs, pretzels, and pizza, all foods that were forgotten on Muir Nin, and probably looked absolutely bizarre. There was no food down there, of course, just the signs. nothing during Ollam's day had survived nine hundred and fifty years, so the food court was simply a bunch of empty stalls.

"Oh, fantastic. More farmwork. I almost wish Gaudin were here, that lazy buffoon."
Due to Gaudin's magic, travel didn't take nearly as long as one would thnk. "Who's lazy, Acharius?"
Acharius turned around. "Gaudin! After eight years, you haven't aged a bit!"
Gaudin laughed. "I wish I could say the same for you, berserker. You've aged at least six, seven days since I last saw you. So, where are the others?"
Acharius scratched his head. "You know, I'm clueless. We all just went our seperate ways."

Inside was a pool of water in a little circle, surrounded by plants. Above it was a massive sphere, black in color, with blue glowing from what appeared to be grooves.
Thornak gave it a hateful glare, "The Ollam antennae... This is what holds back the little girl's emotions and keeps her in the city... an abomination!"
Mithra blinked, "So.... what are you going to do?"
"Two guesses." Thornak replied as he swung his gun out and brought it to bear at the sphere.

"So, care to go adventuring again, Acharius?"
"I've certainly got nothing better to do. However, I'm in the middle of a monthlong contract, so I'll have to say no for about two more weeks."

Bell's eyes widened in wonder as she saw everything below her light up. It was beautiful in a strange way. A...building? Bell thought, vaguely remembering something about strange buildings of the old world. They had the metal demons alright. Tons. A smile crept onto Bell's lips. Metal. Lots of metal. Just waiting down there. With a deep breath, she slid to the edge of the whole and pushed off, finding whatever metal she could quickly and using it to slow her decent.

The rifle was silent, but the result of it's attack was terrifying. The bright flash cut into the sphere with little effort on the first shot. Thronak flipped open something on thre gun and readied to fire again. It was then that Mithra had noticed Archive had stopped smiling. The little girl's eyes were no longer green, but a bright red, data flashing through at an alarming speed.
Thronak fired again. Tears began to appear in her eyes.
"Thornak! I think you're hurting her!!" Mithra gave an alarmed cry.
"She's experiencing her past... and feeling every emotion she missed... The device is leaking them out." Thornak replied.
---
There was a step behind Bell, A machine, smaller than the hunters and carrying a device with electricity openly flaring on it pointed at her. The optics weren't faded, like the ones above. these glared with an intense light. The armor of the machine wasn't metal, but plastic. Only dust marred this machine's appearance.
"Halt! You are guilty of vandalism! You will be escorted to the mall security office immediately." It said in a commanding tone.

"Please, I'm only lost," Bell responded in terror. There was little metal on the outside of this one but she figured the insides were generally the same. She didn't want to have to waste her energy attempting to figure out what exactly made the thing work, but she prepared herself for it.

"Answer: I am lost. Response: Then come to the security office immediately. You can look at maps while we call for someone to pick you up." The machine replied. (It ran on recorded phrases and responses to function, as well as actions, so it finds the correct response for situations... pity it's outdated...)
---
Thornak fired again. Archive fell to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. Thornak fired another blast, and Archive screamed. Her voice was drowned out by the waterfalls.
"Stop! I can't stand it!" Mithra cried.
"Just a bit longer..." Thornak said, pumping another shot into the sphere, which was now sputtering electricity.
No machines came to the Ollam Library's aid... for Thornak Calma had clearance, and he was somehow given the ability to do this...
