.............................................. Tunda blinks, then nods in understanding, looking from Mel to Ignatious and back again. "I.. I'm ready." He mumbles, tail flicking slightly, sparks bouncing rather rapidly from it's tip. ................................................

A fire-red ear tilted lightly at the faint sound of crackling. The Alpha glanced back at Tunda and smiled. "Don't worry. I did not mean to frighten you, but you needed to know..." He did not know if the electricity discharge was actually a result of unease or concentration, but to ignore the possibility was simply not an option for him.
Taking one shackle in hand, he rubbed lightly against the smooth, cool metal. When he pressed it against the back of Tunda's wrist, it was warm, warmer than one's body temperature. "I'm going to cut this now. I will move the metal slowly so you do not jerk against it."
Ignatius rubbed along the seam now, like he had done before only more forcefully. He dug a claw into the metal as it passed along its surface. At first it seemed to do nothing. Then with another pass the seam began to open up as if he were gouging cold wax. The metal had begun to glow faintly silver and orange around the area; his claw darkened, glowing at the tip. Several passes later, he was through but he held the shackle firmly and carefully. He began to push the metal where it had been resting against Tunda's wrist, against the curve of its casting. It began to heat up but not uncomfortably so as he continued to push against it. In the end, the metal bent away from Tunda's wrist like so much aluminum and he was able to slide his hand free.
Taking a deep breath, he took the shackle and set it in the ice water, cut-side down. It had taken a great deal of concentration to focus with such pinpoint accuracy. It would have been so easy for something to go wrong, for him to slip or any number of things, and for Tunda to lose his hand. He could also have bent the bracelet too far and snapped it in half...
"One down, one to go!" The dragon grinned and tapped the cat's arm lightly with the back of his hand.
Ignatius flashed a smile and nodded in return. "I might still need you."
"Naw... you're The Master." Mel turned away and wandered over to a drawer across the room. From it he pulled a hand towel then set Tunda's old shackle on it when he returned a moment later. He nodded to Tunda. "How you holding up?"

625k/1Mill Debt paid off Tunda's tail continued to flicker, crackle and spark as the other watched every movement Ignatius made, curiosity making his ears perk forward until his ears were almost touching the Alpha's face while his eyes tracked every movement made around him. He blinks, looking up at Mel's question and gives the other a small smile. "I'm... Alright. It's just interesting to see someone else with an ability somewhat similar to my own. I... may not be able to cut things, but electricity can set things on fire, as well as it being extremely hot to the touch." ................................................

Mel chuckled. It was great seeing Tunda's interest piqued. "Iggy isn't the only one around here with such abilities, though he's definitely one of the most powerful."
"You flatter me, Mel." The cat grinned back at the dragon before turning back to the pokemon. "My son's abilities are similar as well, though we have yet to find out everything he can do." The truth was, if Keahi was anything like Ignatius, he would be fairly conservative in his use of fire.
"When you're ready, I can remove the second shackle."

625k/1Mill Debt paid off Tunda tilts his head, glancing rather slyly at Mel. "What can you do, Mel?" He asks before turning his attention back to Iggy and giving a small nod. "I'm ready." He says, rotating his right wrist around, which was now free from the confining shackle. There was alot of very obvious scarring on his wrists, mostly due to how he had been treated at his former home. ................................................

Mel stared blankly at Tunda for a moment. Do? He snickered. "Besides my witty remarks and brewing killer coffee?"
"Mel is an interesting case. You should ask him about it sometime..." Ignatius glanced back at Mel. "You are a dragon..."
"That doesn't mean anything..." The dragon frowned and shifted uneasily for a moment.
The Alpha's only reply was a faint smile. He returned his attention to Tunda. He could only imagine (possibly accurately) what he must have suffered to wear such scars. "All right..." He shifted his grip to the remaining shackle before repeating the process he had with the first.

625k/1Mill Debt paid off Tunda tilts his head at the dragon's reaction, watching him shift a moment. "What does that mean?" He thought about pressing the matter with the dragon, then thinks better of it. After all, Mel had done so much for him already. His tail curves up until it resembled the shape of a question mark, vaguely showing his confusion and curiosity. When Iggy went back to work on the remaining shackle, however, his attention was captured again. ................................................

What he meant was that he knew nothing about being a dragon, besides that many could fly and that they liked to hoard shiny objects in their cave-like dwellings. And that many possessed magical powers. Mel already did two of those things and was working on a third... but magic? He didn't know the first thing about magic. Or being a man either... Ha ha... He added ice to the water before waiting with Tunda for Ignatius to finish with the shackles. But nothing went wrong. He was too good to mess up, really.
The last shackle slid free of Tunda's wrist, bent and glowing faintly where the Alpha had cut it free. With a soft hiss of protest, the metal slid into the water. Ignatius straightened from his hunched over stance with a grin. "You're free." Nothing could better serve to illustrate this fact than the pair of bent shackles now sitting on the counter.

625k/1Mill Debt paid off Tunda looks down at his wrists, still not believing that he was free. His tail flicks from side to side before he glances over at the shackles now gracing the counter. "I guess so..." He looks up at Mel and gives a small smile before looking back at Ignatius and bowing his head. "T-Thank you." ................................................

Ignatius returned to bow, smiling gently. "You are most welcome. You are also free to decide what to do with those."
"I recommend tossing them," the dragon muttered. Everything about them was repulsive. The only redeeming value perhaps would be reserved for melting them down into something else.
The Alpha chuckled. "You never know, he might keep them as a reminder."
A memento from a different, horrifying way of life? Wouldn't he rather put that kind of thing behind him? At the same time, while Mel had little in his own life to compare to, he understood how a simple reminder, a tangible link to the past can spur one on to do greater things. So he nodded. "I suppose so..." He turned back to Tunda. "Whatever you'd like to do now is up to you." He meant of course, 'for the rest of the day.' At the same time, 'for the rest of your life,' was also a viable unspoken meaning that he could not deny.

Tunda looks over at the counter, staring at the shackles for a moment before shaking his head slightly, cringing at the memories the sight of them brought to him. "Y-You can do what you want with them. I don't want them back. They remind me of my former life." He mumbles, ears flat against his head, tail curling up around his ankles, looking very much like a sad and lost little child at that moment.

"Don't worry, we'll put them to good use." Ignatius gazed at the shackles contemplatively, arms crossed over his chest. What to do with them? It would have to be something useful but also symbolic. His tail waved about behind him, mismatched wings fluttered. What indeed?
It was apparent to Mel that Tunda had much to overcome in the days and months and even years to come. Right now, the events of the previous night were vivid in the dragon's mind. How many times was it compounded for Tunda? How many nights would he be unable to sleep because the nightmares continued to haunt him?
Mel was by his side without thinking about what he was doing. It was compassion and it was instinct. An arm wrapped around Tunda's back, the other across his chest, in an embrace that was both strong and nonrestrictive. "You're going to get through this. You're going to be all right."

................................................ Tunda blinks at the sudden hug, flinching the slightest bit. He obviously wasn't used to such contact, and as such, it scared him just a bit as to what would happen next. Hearing Mel's words, however, he started to calm down just the slightest bit and relax into the others embrace, unsure of what would happen next. He looks up at Ignatius questioningly, as if asking the other what he was supposed to do now. ................................................

Hugs. Not helpful. Got it. That was actually a relief for the dragon, as he was not usually overcome by the urge to embrace someone. He pulled away from Tunda almost as quickly as he had come to his side, wandering away to dump out his now-cold coffee and pour a fresh one.
The Alpha offered no further assistance to Tunda. He had done his part and offered to help if the other only just ask for it. However, he did flash the confused-looking anthro a warm smile even as his tail swished behind him. Initially he had arrived to grab himself some coffee. With that done, he contemplated what to do next. There were always things to do, but deciding between them was a task in itself.
"Well, I'll take these off your hands," Ignatius said, picking up the shackles. He studied them for a moment before nodding to Tunda and heading out of the room.
"So." The dragon was now seated on a counter top with his legs dangling over the edge, watching Tunda curiously. "What now?"

................................................ Tunda blinks at Ignatius, then nods before glancing at Mel once more. "I... don't know... Did you still want to go shopping..?" He asks, tail flicking slightly behind him as he slowly stood up and shuffles over to the dragon. ................................................
