Found it by accident as I was channel surfing when I was home alone. I think it was 91 or 92 when I saw for the first time. As the KST Channel 9 t-shirt says 93 on it for the marathon they ran for it as well. I know I saw it before don't know if I have one for 92 or not? Not sure if they did one been a while. biggrin

Anathema Device Love the Vicar Of Dibley. I love just about all British tv, except Eastenders, of course. Because Soaps Suck! I actually sort of fell into RD. I cought it on some obscure channel one night around one am, and then again a few months later, and then I found myself staying up just to catch it... (when I should have been studying) I started raving about it to everyone I met, and my then boyfriend went away to New Mexico for a week and his cousins had BBC america-- *gasp* and they were doing a RD marathon. So the BF threw a tape in and let 'er record til he had to put a new tape in, etc etc. Then a few years later, the next boyfriend bought me seasons one and two on DVD. I watch RD when I'm feeling down. I'm not a fan of repetition, but RD is just THAT good. I'll watch it over and over. 3nodding Great thread 'Faewen! heart They show Eastenders in america? confused Weird... I always imagined it was only aired in the uk, even though we get austrailian soaps.

Bishounen Bunny Generator They show Eastenders in america? confused Weird... I always imagined it was only aired in the uk, even though we get austrailian soaps. So did I actually! sweatdrop Weird... I'm surprised that people from other countries can understand the ACCENT actually... innit? Lol... Though I suppose it's not that weird once you think about it... I mean, if we get loads of American programmes here, and they get loads of our comedies, then why shouldn't they get our soaps as well? Even if they are a load of sh- END TRANSMISSION

Not sure about Monarch of the Glen! I would probably say it wasn't, though...more a drama, perhaps?
I got into RD because my parents always used to watch it when I was little ^_^ The first real memories I have are of series 6, since that's the first series I was old enough to remember...but I seem to have had vague memories of things before that!
I remember seeing series 7 and 8 for the first time really clearly smile And my whole family bursting out loud at the Rimmer Munchkin Song! And getting the DVDs recently rekindled my RD obsession. wink

My first clear memory of RD was when I was about six, begging my dad to allow me to watch the only RD episode rated a 15; Polymorph, in my room. Alone. In the dark.
Can you believe that? If he hadn't given in then, under the law, I wouldn't have been able to watch Polymorph until this year!!! eek I could have not bothered trying to sneak other videos into my room! It could have killed my RD obsession! It could have meant that this guild never would have existed...
Or it could have meant that I threw a tantrum; either way, it would be bad for me... sweatdrop
But he did let me watch it. Later that night, I had a nightmare about the Polymorph... sweatdrop
And I think Monarch of the Glen is a drama, not a soap. MotG is decent programming you see... 3nodding Lol!

Back home.... many years ago, in a state far away, our PBS station was seriously into Brit programming. Late saturday would be Doctor Who. One night, after Doctor Who, they introduced a new series.... Red Dwarf. 5 minutes in and I was hooked. I got all my friends into it, and my Best friend's son know's quotes from it.

starlit_jewel I'm surprised that people from other countries can understand the ACCENT actually... innit? Lol... Hehe. Well, in our family at least, we're pretty good at understanding accents. Even really convoluted ones; it might take a few repetitions but we'll eventually get it. We also have a tendency to slip in and out of different accents. xd But I suppose I'm getting off-subject. Hehe. The guild probably still would have existed even if you had lost your RD obsession, of course, since Ana made it. But it would certainly be a lot less interesting... and someone else would have inherited it!
