"Not so much trouble as possibily life threatening," Ryu murmured.

Though he should have figured that coming from Aliya. Like he had thought before Aliya and Feng were two of a kind. Once they were in, Ryu had caught as glimpse of Feng already bouncing up the stairs to put her fans away.

"Oh... well... I see.. I think, but she and that thing are two different things, but it makes her sad.... but Elnara has all of us and she adopted too, so it's all good," Lin grinned at that.

"Well ... if she learned her lesson then it's not an entire waste," Aliya shrugged. "I mean, I know I've done my share of stupid things, but I learned from them, and I know I won't do anything that stupid again."

At least, from her point of view.

Elberon blinked. "Are you saying that she has been mistaken for the demon, and that the demon truly is dead?" he asked curiously. He looked thoughtful. "Well ... I suppose that makes sense ... though it's truly a terrible thing."

Ryu thought about it, yea that was true, if they had actually gotten hurt from doing what they did. Feng had the devil's luck in her adventures, she had never gotten seriously hurt from what she did.

"It only works if something went wrong."

"Well... I don't know if she's actually been mistaken for a demon, but I don't think being called a a bad name any better," Lin replied.

She never did figure out what Ruel said about Elnara to Celebor, but she was sure it was some sort of name. Otherwise Celebor wouldn't have decked the man.

Aliya looked thoughtful. "Well ... if her stunts did work, then that would only prove to her that they were safe enough to do again," she shrugged. "So I guess that makes sense. Not that it's smart, I suppose."

Then again, almost all of her own stunts had gone wrong, so she hadn't had false lessons like that.

Elberon nodded. "You're quite right, being called any sort of mean name is not a pleasant experience. I think that someone who would do something like that, call someone something terrible when it isn't deserved, is someone who will not get far in life, and is truly without honour."

"Well... at least she's too big to do some of those stunts anymore. Those where when we were much smaller," Ryu murmured thoughtfully.

Like the fish baiting, and the trying to hitch a ride on a bird, and the falling into another Second's vase....

She wondered if she should stop calling a certain ninja stupid, after all it might not be his fault he's not that bright. Well.. .she hadn't really called him that to his face, and she supposed it was bad if she did say it aloud.

"Hmm....." she wondered about Ruel then, because he was good... sometimes, "Yea, it's not a good thing, but some people are too freaked out by it to know better."

"I'm sure there are still some things that she does that are dangerous," Aliya smiled at Ryu. "After all, growing up doesn't mean that everything's safe, as Mum is constantly reminding me."

She held the door open for him to go inside first.

Elberon thought about that carefully. "It's true, there are many things that can take a person by surprise, but it's really no excuse. An honourable person will keep a civil tongue in their head during times of fear and panic, and wait to find out the truth of things before pronouncing judgment. At the very least though, they would apologize for anything they said when they couldn't control themselves."

"Well she hasn't figured out a new stunt at her size quite yet," Ryu murmured, "And I won't encourage her any time soon," he added as he stepped in.

Now all they had to do was put away their weapons, make sure they hadn't lost Feng and meet Halmir. Granted he knew he was getting dragged along whether he liked it or not.

Lin thought about it, that did make sense and it only made sense. However what was it that she was looking for, that problem she would like to solve.

"But, what if that person already made up their mind? That the other person isn't a person and so they call them names because to them that person isn't a person so it's alright. How do you get them to stop?"

"Well, riding horses is dangerous enough," Aliya told Ryu, "but I'll make sure she doesn't try anything dangerous. I know I've done some pretty stupid things in my lifetime ... way too many, Valar know, but there's no way I would let her put herself in any danger."

She paused. "For one thing," she murmured, "I'd be afraid of your father if I let anything happen to her."

A troubled look crossed Elberon's face, and he frowned softly as he racked his brains, trying to think of a reply. "Well ... I'm sorry, Lin, but ... if a person is like that, and refuses to change though the know the person well, and know the truth about the person, then there's very little that you can do to change their minds. It's sad, but there are people out there who just won't accept others who are different from themselves, and unless something happens ... something huge, something that will change their lives completely ... then they will never change, and there's nothing you can do to change them."

Except of course, cause the life-altering experience, but that wasn't exactly something that such a small child could do.

Ryu had actually forgotten about putting Donovan into the equation, he considered the man many things but scary wasn't one of them. Which was funny because he knew very well that Donovan could be a very scary man. Then again....

"I don't think I've ever considered Donovan scary, then again it's hard to see someone scary when you first seem with wearing a baby carrier," Ryu replied thoughtfully.

"Oh...." Lin mused on this, "Too bad, it would be nice if those people could just think about it and be happy. Besides it's a lot more fun with different people...."

"A baby carrier?" Aliya questioned as she followed Ryu up the stairs. "What's that?"

Elberon nodded sadly. "Yes, it's all too true. I suppose that if you see the person often enough you could try to talk to them, but ... the only other thing I can think of is to force the person to come face to face with the person they look down on and see what comes of that. Too often, though, something like that ends in disaster, rather then having a happy ending."
