"Well. . . I guess you don't have to leave me alone." Ace said, as he began to feel comfortable around her at the moment. It was only best if they were to continue being friends. Well, maybe not better, but it would be nicer. But there had to be some ground rules. "On three conditions though." He quickly said, as he held up three of his fingers. "One; Don't make me feel like a complete idiot. Two; Make Katherine stop calling us a couple. And three; Don't be mean to me anymore. If we're going to be friends, we have to act like friends. Such as agreeing on everything, and being kind to each other. No more insults. Okay?"
Ace took a deep breath after telling Jessica all of the rules in order for them not to ignore each other. It felt nice that they were no longer arguing. In fact, Ace felt a small crush on Jessica. But he tried not to express it. But blushing was almost obvious. . . Which was what he did whenever she began to speak.

Jessica smiled a bit as the boy who previously 'hated' her began to speak. The fact that he truly didn't hate her, and did desire to be her friend was a comforting thought considering she hated to be hated. However, his words troubled her a bit, for she couldn't help but wonder how that was what he thought friendship truly was.
"Do you not have any real friends?" She then asked finally, staring at the boy with a puzzled expression on her features. "Friends don't act like what you said. They tell each other everything, even if it means calling out what they are doing wrong. And friends most definitely don't agree on everything, silly."
Laughing a bit with a glint in her blue eyes and the smile still on her lips she then added. "And I can't make Katherine stop calling us a 'couple'. This is Katherine we are talking about. You just have to learn to put up with it. But if you really want her to stop saying it then just admit you are a perverted b*****d and she won't approve of you. Then again... the color in your cheeks will make it hard to convince her.""

"Actually. . . I've never had any friends before." Ace mumbled, and then slumped down and was no longer standing straight. His head was faced to the ground, as he was saddened at the truth that he had to admit to Jessica that he had never had friends before. "Well. . . I mean, I controlled people's minds and made them be friends with me." Ace said with guilt in his words, "But I've never actually had someone that wanted to be friends with me. . . "
Ace shuddered, and thought about him when he was a kid. On his first day of school, the kids wouldn't let him play with them because they thought he was bossy and mean. But he couldn't help it. So, instead of being a social kid with friends, Ace would simply sit in a corner and read a small book with his imaginary friend. And doing that made the kids tease him, which left a tear or two drop down his eyes.
His head shot back up at her when she mentioned about making Katherine quit teasing him and Jessica. He nodded, and gave a smile at her when she finished telling him what to do."Okay. . . I guess we can't make her stop." He laughed, and stood up straight again. He quickly rubbed his cheeks as she noticed him blush. "So. . . Should w-we find Carter and Katherine?"

The smile that had been on Jessica's lips soon faded to a frown as the boy spoke to her, giving her a glimpse of some of the troubles he went through as a trial. She herself had similar issues, but that was simply that no one had wanted her, not that she couldn't make friends at all. Even so, her and Ace had been through alike circumstances.
"Well, I want to be your friend." Jessica pointed out to him, her perfect smile returning to her lips. "And if you feel that uncomfortable around me I guess we could go find those two."

"Oh." Ace said quickly and smiled at her. "I don't feel uncomfortable around you." He reassured her, still smiling. "In fact, I think this is the most comfort I've felt in a long time." Ace said boldly. He felt a common history as a child with Jessica. But she probably had much more of a harsh history. In fact, it seemed like a lot of the students at Koi had troubled histories. His eyes drifted to the ceiling, as she agreed that they could go after Carter and Katherine. "Any ways. . . Who is Carter and how do you know him?"

"Aw, Ace is comfortable around me, maybe he really does like me." Jessica teased Ace in reply to his statement, a broad smile on her lips as she teased the boy in a way that Katherine would. However, her smile faded a bit when he asked her about Carter. She wasn't quite sure why the boy was curious but she would answer anyways. "I've known Carter most of my life. I grew up with him. He's just very protective of me, cause of... yea."

"Oh. . . Right. . . " Ace mumbled, with a thought of a relationship between the Jessica and Carter. Hopefully, he wasn't thinking of it too much, for Jessica could read minds. "Well, maybe I should get to know him. Y' know, so that we can. . . Erm, become friends!" He smiled, but a glare quickly crossed his face at the thought of them becoming friends.

Katherine kept trying to open the door to the library, which was proving pointless because it just wouldn't budge. Damn stupid fat ugly door! She thought getting more frusterated.
"Why won't you open?!" She yelled at it while kicking it, causing her to spit out a few more curse words.
"Goodness Katherine when did you obtain such a colorful vocabulary?" Carter asked, trying his hardest not to laugh at the poor girl, which was proving hard to do so. Katherine whirled around and gave him a glare. "Don't you want to know what they are talking about too?" She asked him.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." He replied, still laughing slightly.
"What are you talking about Cartine?" Katherine asked, slightly confused.
"I know for a fact that if you really wanted to know what they were saying you could have used some sort of spell to spy on them. But you're just trying to respect Jessica. Am I right?" He asked with that all to familiar grin.
Katherine gave him a 'I hate your guts' look then turned back to the door. "Well I hope he isin't doing anything to her. Our poor little Jessie." She told him dramatically.
Carter twitched slightly as he looked at the door. He wouldn't even try since he knows we are only seperated by a door. He thought to himself, shrugging off Katherine and continued leaning against the wall.

"Carter doesn't really make friends..." Jessica replied to him, her words only coming out from her in a mutter as if it was some horrible thing to say. It was very true though. Carter never really talked to anyone besides Katherine and herself. Oh well, maybe Ace would teach the boy a thing a two. Then again sticking two people who had social problems together may have not been the best thing to do.
"And no there's nothing more to our relationship." Jessica clarified to Ace, having heard his thoughts earlier.

"Well, if you say so. . . " Ace replied to both of her statements, with studder in his tone. He hated the fact that Jessica could read minds. Nothing will be private anymore. Every thought that came into his mind would first come into hers. And why wasn't Carter a friendly guy? If he didn't make friends with anyone, then how did he become friends with Jessica and Katherine? Everything was a confusion. Just then. loud bangs were heard hitting the main door to the library. Obviously, Katherine was trying to get inside of the library.
"You pull the door open, not push!" Ace shouted through the door at Katherine and Carter, laughing a bit as he did so. She'd better stop banging it in, for she was making a load of noise in the library. If she kept that up, she would get herself kicked out of the library for making too much of an annoyance.

Suddenly the banging got very quiet and a loud laughter was heard from the other side. Katherine hit Carter with her fist on his back and screamed 'why didn't you tell me jerk?!'.
She pulled open the door very softly, a blush arose over her face like a flame as she walked with as much dignity she had left over to Jessica and Ace, with Carter following her behind. "So? Uh, what did you guys talk about?" She muttered crossing her arms looking outside a window, still quite embarresed.
Carter gave Jessica is-everything-alright look while he just stood there silently, avoiding eye contact with Ace.

"Oh I just made him admit that he didn't really hate me." Jessica said in reply to her friend as she burst into the room (which she did in an oddly non enthusiastic manner), proud of herself for being able to make Ace to admit such a thing without manipulating him. "And he said he wants to be friends with Carter."

"Aw! That's sweet! Isin't that nice of him Carter?" Katherine replied looking from Jessica to Carter with a happy expression.
"Carter?"
Carter twitched slightly as he forced a smile on for Katherine and Jessica. "Oh yeah, it's just great." He replied, trying to hide the sarcstic side of him answer.
Katherine rolled her eyes and turned from him back to the others. She was aboutto think something to Jessica when she remebered Ace could sort of read minds. "Psst, Jessie I want to ask you something but I don't think I can think it because thinking is no longer an option because now we have mind thinkers...I mean readers." Katherine whispered, trying not to confuse herself.

"Hey, don't mind me. I can't read minds. I just control them!" Ace told Katherine with a grin, but then noticed Carter twitch. 'Jeez, what's with him?' Ace thought, while rubbing his chin. He quickly smiled at the two girls again, but then glared at Carter suddenly. It was predictable that Carter and himself were not going to turn out to be friends. They would be better off as rivals. "What's your name again? It was Farter right?" Ace hissed with a grin at him. "Oh. . . I mean. . . . . Carter!" He chuckled, with his cheeks turning red. That had to be the best joke Ace had made that day. Satisfaction was what he felt after he had made his little comment about Carter.

Carter just shook his head at Ace and smirked. "It's sad that you have to use little jokes to make yourself look good around others." He told him, not affected at all by that comment. He heard it before anyway so it really wasn't anything new to him at all.
Burn? Katherine raised an eyebrow at the two boys, knowing that this 'friendship' thing would not work at all. Okay Jessie! I have it all figured out now! You see it will come out to be a battle for your loooove. I think. Maybe. She thought as she looked towards her friend with a slight shurg.
