Is there any situation in which you could see yourself joining a foreign army?

Ok. If, for some reason that you thought was completly unjustifiable, bogus, wrong, against your principles etc, America attacked Canada (yeah, not gonna happen, but this is hypthetical) and it turned into a full-out war, would you -Join the US Army -- protect your country even if you think it's wrong -Hop over the border and join the Canadian Army -- fight against what you believe is wrong, even if it is your native country -Sit on your a** and do nothing -- you don't want to join a war that's wrong, but you don't want to attack your own country. And besides, getting killed is not your thing. ?

Well, I wanna attack Canada. Thomas Jefferson ment us to own/rule/take over the entire Americas. Canada would be a nice start. They're not even using it!
Sit on my a** and do nothing, unless we start losing. I don't like it, but better my country then yours pal.
Er, ok?

What do you think is more important: freedom, or democracy?
For example. If one country has a fairly, freely, openly elective leader or government that makes it a point to use policies that significantly restrict the personal freedoms of people, and another country has a system where there is no democracy, and people have no say in the government, but are nontheless given more freedom, which country is better?
(RL example: many middle eastern countries have goverments that are secular, unextremist, and very much undemocratic. Where democratic reforms have been introduced, the tendency of people is to vote for more extremist/islamic politicans/groups who would like to rule things in a less secular, thus less free (ie. banned alcohol, less womens rights, etc) way. )

True freedom. Democracy was made to try to bring freedom to a large body of people, but fails nowadays because of the grip of the media.

If someone you don't know very well and don't talk to often gets you a christmas present, are you obligated to get them something in return?

Yes, but a card with a bit of money in it will do in a pinch.

If someone has a choice to do something that would make them happy, or something that would make their parents happy, how obligated are they to choose the latter?
