Alek had heard the commotion and was waiting patiently, because he was taught by his mother only to attack when provoked or when someone was in extreme danger, and he saw the lightning bolt... he didn't think, his arm crystallized as he moved full-speed to in front of Ceri, deflecting the bolt, ignoring the pain as his arm superheated in that moment of contact.

Bandora was mad now. Not only did her plan fail to work but someone other than her intended target saved the girl. Bandora flew up into the air. "Why you interfering pest! Do the world a favor and help me kill a god!" she said, knowing that Alek was going to do as she demanded.

They've got it under control, you idiot! Rincewind screamed at Vilrath. They probably haven't even noticed you! Just get us out of here!

Alek stared back at the crazy woman, glaring steadily. He wasn't sure if she assumed he hated the gods or if she was trying to exercise some sort of mind control, which generally didn't work on vampires as old as him, but he raised his arm at Bandora, aiming down the crystallized length. It was hard to do and would hurt like hell, but he could launch crystals. He prayed fervently to the vampire god that someone came up with a better plan.
She acted like a child, but the thoughts ran through her head faster than she could run on land. Sometimes it's not your fight. You have to ask for the kill. She wasn't looking forward to touching this woman... but she would. "Can I kill her?" Angel asked. Her voice dropped its usual little-girl accent, and the look in her eyes was downright murderous. As she waited for an answer, she shifted into a predatory crouch, wings ready to spread, not surprised to find a low growl coming from her lips.
Angel's voice chilled Val to the core. She said, a little unevenly, "Okay, seriously, it's time to get out of here." She had been listening to the madwoman and deduced that Van was who she wanted; removing the god from the situation would diffuse it. "Rincewind, honey, stick with my brother and Angel. They'll know how to find me." She kissed his cheek quickly and then uttered her plan to her siblings so low, only they could hear it.
"Get ready, Van," Angel said softly. "Val's going to get you out of here so this crazy woman goes away. The rest of us will be there as soon as we can." Hopefully the plan would work...

Rincewind dropped the swords; he wasn't strong enough to hold them anyways. "Wh-what?"

She glanced at him, then kissed him hard. "Listen, I'm going to get Van the hell away from here, and then my brother and sister are gonna beat this woman until she's nothing but meat. Just try not to get yourself killed. Sugarsweet always knows how to find me." One of his inexplicable abilities, to always be able to find her. It made playing hiding games horrible. Then she shifted into a crouch, although it was a runner's crouch, if you knew the types of crouches vampires sunk into. It certainly didn't look like she was getting ready to run at an insane speed. She was balanced precariously, legs spread and feet together. Her fingers, in front of her, were holding her up.

Rincewind nodded, glad that Vilrath wasn't going to get him into any more trouble.

Ceri stood there, frozen. She had never seen what was unfolding before her eyes ever before. She didn't know whether to fight the chick or what. Her breathing was labored. Why can't I move?! she asked herself. Come on legs, move! You've done this before!

"Wait...what? We have a plan now?" Van asked in confusion. How did this go from 'crazy woman he could probably deal with in ten minutes tops' to 'terrible battle with a dangerous foe that we must flee from'. "Whatever. This is getting ridiculous. Anything to get rid of this hag all the sooner."

"Just hold on," Angel growled softly. Her wings were rustling impatiently now. "If diffusion doesn't work, kicking her through her middle certainly will."
And then Val was off, at top speed within the second, grabbing Van and clear of the situation in but a moment. She ran for half a minute and stopped, then dropped Van unceremoniously on the ground. "There. Now, my brother and sister will take care of the problem if it doesn't take care of itself. Who was that crazy woman, anyways?"

"OH GOD DAMNIT!" Mala exclaimed, running on after Val and Van as quickly as she could - which was pretty damn fast for a mage. Still, she couldn't hope to catch up to Val. Still, Mala thought that it would be better to stick by Van than to get involved in a fight when stronger beings could handle it for her.

Ceri just saw flashes of color. She was still frozen solid. Her brain seemed to have shut down on her. She didn't understand. She was shaking.

Alek glanced at his sister, then put an arm around Ceri, the crystals receding and turning back. "It's okay," he murmured. "It'll be over in a second."
With all the grace of a predatory animal, Angel lunged, colliding with Bandora at high speeds, and she immediately screamed and dropped. Bandora, of course, would likely go flying according to Momma's Rules of the Nature of Things, since she was standing against nothing and that was an awful lot of speed. Angel was more sensitive to the dispositions of people; however, with her innocence and naïvete, she did not really know what to expect and was therefore terrified when close to the crazy woman. She dropped and went to Mala and held her hand, then murmured, "I'll carry you to Van and Val, but I have to carry your brother, too, because my big brother has to carry Val's lover and Ceri."

((Another brief check in before I am gone for the night))
"From what I can tell, some crazy hag that wants to kill me and take my place as a god." Van said as he got to his feet and brushed himself off.
"You sure you can carry us both?" Riley questioned. "I mean, no offense, but you don't exactly look strong enough to carry two full grown adults..."
