Jessica continued to stand there, trying not to get distracted by the scene that Carter and Katherine were displaying, which was rather hard considering that the two of them were rather loud (Well, Katherine at least). Still, she stood there, simply looking towards where Ace was, laughing at bit after Katherine and Carter had left the library completely.
"Why?"

Ace stood up from where he was hiding. It felt safe to stop hiding now, since Carter had left. Carter was the main reason why he had been hiding in the first place. And now with just Jessica and Ace alone, an uncomfortable feeling was drawn upon the him. He inhaled, and then exhaled as he stared at Jessica. She looked amused at Ace for some strange and dull reason. This made him even more uncomfortable. But steadily, he walked up to her.
"Why?" Ace repeated to what she had said, and crossed his arms with annoyance towards Jessica. "Because, you promised that you wouldn't talk to me! You promised that you would leave me alone? Why are you so obsessed with me?" he yelled, raising his own voice. Just then, the librarian came up to him and glared at him to be quiet. He nodded towards her, realizing that he should be more quiet on a count of that they were in the library. "Well?" he turned back at her, and waited for her to reply.

"Obsessed?" Jessica questioned, staring at him blankly, that thought not having occurred to her. "I'm not obsessed with you. I'm more in awe of you, or amazed by your actions at least. Intrigued you could say."

"So, are you stalking me?" Ace asked with a glare, feeling a bit more uncomfortable. It would be strange if she was stalking him. But who knows? What if she was a stalker?

"Stalkers are stealth... I'm not hiding." Jessica pointed out matter-of-factly in reply to the boy's question, even though she honestly was unsure of how to justify her actions. At that moment she was doing everything on impulse, her logic was being thrown out the door. Well, partially at least. "I just like when things make sense, and you're way of thinking has been confusing me. Therefore, I am intrigued."

"Well, so what? That doesn't mean you can stick your nose in my own business just because your. . . Intruged!" Ace yelled, and walked closer to the door. If she made one more statement about him that was more of an insult rather than a comment, then Ace planned to run out of the library and never talk to her again. He knew that it was childish and immature, but the way Jessica talked to him drove his mind mad.

"The reason why I'm intrigued makes it my business." Jessica replied to him, trying to act as calm as possible even though she couldn't help but admit she was beginning to get a bit irritated herself. "It's about me therefore I have a right to know."

"Listen. . . " Ace said, and clapped his hands together to help him relax. "What do you want me to do for you to finally leave me in peace?" He mumbled, thinking why he hadn't just asked her this in the first place.

"I don't want to leave you in peace!" Jessica finally snapped in reply to Ace, a look of frustration and desperation clearly on her face. Though afterwards she immediately shook her head, looking down towards the ground while shaking her head. "I-I didn't think you actually hated me."

Ace jumped back with shock, and a surprised expression was slapped onto his face. Shock and embarrassment hit him like a truck, and all he did was stare at Jessica. She didn't want to leave him in peace, and that was that. "W- W," Ace stammered, but continued to just stare at her. He could see the frustration on her face. . . Along with desperation as well. "Well I don't hate you!" Ace snapped and then stared at the ground just like how Jessica had been doing. "I. . . I. . ." he mumbled, as fear crumpled up his mind. What was he planning on saying? Was he supposed to say that he liked her?
"I. . . I like you, okay!?"

Jessica laughed a bit as the boy replied to her, the stutter in his voice making his statement seem ever so convincing. She far from believed the boy of course. She could easily look into the boys eyes and find the truth herself, but she knew there wasn't a reason for doing such a thing, she could tell he was lying. He had to have been.
"Oh yea right." She said to him, looking back at him her usual glint returning to her eyes. "I just don't like you hating me, you don't have to lie about it and take it to the other extreme."

"Well," Ace said, and crossed his arms, "Maybe you didn't hear me correctly. I said I liked you." he laughed, and smiled at her. "How is liking someone taking hatred to the extreme?" Ace laughed even harder, as if he was laughing at her stupidity. "Did you think I said 'love' or something?"

"Ha, no." Jessica said with a laughed as she placed her hands on her hips, leaning towards the boy a bit so that her words were emphasized by her actions. "I'm just saying all I needed was 'I don't hate you', but that works too." She then shrugged, leaning back, now looking towards the boy curiously. "So, why did you say you hated me?"

"Because you made me. . . Remember what you said?" Ace mumbled with a lazy tone and then straightened up. He coughed, as if he were about to sing a song to Jessica. " 'Just say that you hate me, and then I'll leave you alone!' " he said in a girl voice that was supposed to be a quote from Jessica. "That was what you told me to do. . . So I did." Ace stated, and then laughed while rubbing the back of his head. "Stupid, huh?"

Jessica couldn't help but laugh as Ace pulled off what somehow was supposed to be an impersonation of herself. He was right, she hadn't really given the boy much of a choice. Well, actually.. she did... he just happened to pick the one that was mean. "So..." She began, about to play her guilt trip card. "You do want me to leave you alone? Guess that means you don't really 'like' me huh?"
