She gave a tender smile at Midnight's words. "O-okay" she said softly. "I guess that's true. We were both there to be together" she hummed a soft happy note at the kiss to her forehead. She felt reassured by her soulmate's words. "You're important to me too. That's why, if you died, I'd do anything to get you back. You, and our children. I know they're not even formed yet but I can feel the small soul attached to me. It's faint but it's there"

She smiled more as they talked together and grinned at the nuzzling, reaching up to stroke Midnight's cheek affectionately. "No, we don't" she was happy to realise that. It meant so much to her. "We always make up. Somehow. And I always regret getting carried away by my emotions in the moment and wish I could go back and change things afterwards. Thank you for being so patient with me. And for not getting mad when we don't agree on things. I wish I could be more like that. And I'm trying. You're a good role model. I sometimes think I don't deserve you. I know your mother at least probably wishes you'd have married someone of higher class and education, but she got me instead" she gave a wry chuckle, shaking her head slightly. "I'm sure they won't care once they find out we're giving them grandchildren though"

She nodded when Midnight thought over what she said about babies and purity. "Yep. They start out as a blank canvas and the way they turn out is shaped and molded by life experiences and everything around them. I'll admit, some of them do come with a seed of darkness inside, but everyone has a seed of light inside, too. If you water one and starve the other, then it should turn out okay" she reasoned.

She looked amazed but impressed by Midnight's admission at how quick they were able to make decisions and analyse everything. "Woah. Well, maybe your brain works at a faster speed than mine. I'm just not so confident in my own abilities. Sometimes things happen in a blink of an eye. For instance, a cup of hot coffee gets knocked off a table and spills on the child. I don't know if I'd even be fast enough to leap in the way of it and push the kid out of harm's way. Situations like that...worry me. I could learn a thing or two from you, maybe. About taking in all the details quickly and quickly making decisions in a matter of seconds. I didn't really know what to do when the big guy attacked you at the wedding party. I just tried all the divine holy magic I knew. And it still wasn't enough. I had Cat Step on as well but he seemed to be impervious to most everything. It kind of feels like those...choose your own adventure books, where you have several options to choose from and each one has a different outcome that changes the path going forwards"

She nodded thoughtfully at Midnight stating they were being realistic, each in their own way. "Yes. That makes sense" she nodded along. She couldn't help but relax and bask in the thrumming sounds of a content dragon. It was like the vibrations emitted positive emotions themselves. Maybe they did.

"Hmm, yeah, you're right that we should keep growing and learning. As for being better. Better than who, or better than what? I do want to be good at some things but I know I'm not good at everything. Still, increasing the strength of my magic is a good idea. I like that thought. It would be nice to cast it in a wider area of effect that lasts longer. Or to have more intensified power concentrated in the spells. The more I use them, the stronger they get" she smiled. "Third option. Well, if there is one, I'll have to get better at finding it" she conceded.

She was feeling quite relaxed now, enjoying their conversation rather than getting worked up over things. Midnight's speech placated her as she hugged the flask of chocolate liquid. She nodded in understanding and agreement. "That's right. We work together to make it work" she mumbled, almost to herself. She drank more cocoa, taking several gulps of it. Her hands were warm from holding it and she was delightfully warmed all the way through from the magic draught. She gently took Midnight's hand and held it, brushing her thumb over it in patterns. A simple, loving gesture that you could only do with someone very close. "I hope so!" she beamed. "I plan to lengthen my life span so we can be together for longer, with you and the future children. I wouldn't do that for anyone else"

She considered the question Midnight asked "I don't know. I guess because, I care more about all of you than I do about myself. If you are all able to be happy then that's good enough for me. It's all I really want" She sipped her cocoa and frowned when Midnight informed her that bringing people back to life had its risks and side effects. "Not at all. I don't wish that on anyone. I mean, people get resurrected sometimes. Or reincarnated. Depending on what universe you're in and what system the gods are using. Not everyone is always messed up in the head. Some people are happy to be back. Then again, some people lose their memories, anything can happen I guess. I mean, I'd be looking into safe ways to bring you back. You, Snow Poff and them. It's just a worse case scenario. I hope I never have to make those kinds of decisions. I'm willing to make sacrifices to see loved ones again though. People who died before they were ready to"

She snorted as she sipped more chocolate. "Well I'm not gonna become an athlete, I can tell you that right now. Exercise is good for you but I don't really like it that much to be honest. Discomfort, getting all sweaty. The endorphins and benefits are the only reasons I do it. And the fighting. Learning how to attack and defend. If I didn't think I needed to, I wouldn't bother to do it" she said honestly "Honestly, I'm a bit lazy in that area" she admitted. "But I'm a lot better than when I first arrived at the academy and I'm doing it for myself, and the baby and you, in a way"

"That's fair" she commented regarding Heather. If Heather wanted to poke the dragon, then she would get what she deserved. Without the police or media becoming too involved.

She listened, drinking the hot chocolate. It was getting empty. The warmth was still spreading through her body and Poff rolled over and curled up again, snuggling into the warmth. She stroked the sleepy cat.

"I could have" she agreed meekly, about being another Heather, "That's true" She started to play gently with Midnight's hand again. "I'm really glad you took a gamble and let me in. I've thrown people off or scared them away before. A lot. Some people find my anger explosions funny and see past them, which is how I have a few friends" she admitted. She laughed softly at Midnight's description of her and her face was reddened not just by the wind and hot chocolate but by the blush of giddy embarrassment and pleasure that went through her at the words. "Thank you Midnight. I hope I never let you down. And if I do, please give me the chance to learn from my mistakes and make it up to you" There was a pause for a moment or two then followed up by a giggle. "I'm still squicked out by creepy crawlies. But I've gotten used to liking people's familiars once I get to know them. I just hope we don't get attacked by any insect themed demons" she cringed. She then tipped her head back and tried to look up at Midnight "I love you for who you are....too" she said softly and smiled, giving Midnight's hand a loving squeeze. Her green eyes shone with a soft tender look.

"You don't have to share your wealth, really" she gently protested, "I'm grateful for what you've spent on me already. I always intended to get a job as a crystal witch anyway, enchanting things, selling gems, helping townsfolk. It's not about the money. I think I'd be bored if I didn't have a job. But if I earn my own, I just think it'd be a good thing to do. I'll feel like I'm contributing to the family. And I can use it to buy you stuff or spend on myself or others. I'd feel bad asking you for money all the time. Your family worked hard for that and earned it" she said. She covered a yawn as she snuggled into Midnight. Midnight was normally cold to the touch but they felt warm from the magical drink. Larissa fought off sleep, enjoying the view and the sounds and smells of the forest and snowy sleigh trail. The whole journey took a good hour and a half and by the time the sleigh pulled back into its station, Larissa was fighting off more and more yawns. She stretched her arms up, arching her back "Ahhhh~" she sighed in pleasure. "That was such a romantic, relaxing sleigh ride. I think we just made a memory for life" she smiled, picking up Poff and cradling the sleepy cat in her arms as they slowly dismounted the sleigh and thanked the driver. He took the horses to the stables to rest and went to grab a different team that were fresh and wanting to stretch their legs.

User ImageShe seemed to relax at the reassurance that I married her because of her. We wouldn't have been in that clearing if we hadn't been getting married, of course we would be there together. I sat back, letting her relax while bundled up in the blankets. I let out a breath, it becoming an impressive plume of steam. I turned my eyes towards the heavens, thinking. What if to ascend to godhood... I'd have to die? What kind of price would Larissa have to pay to drag a fully fledged god to the world for them to walk like a mortal? It's one thing to die to give another a chance at life. It's another to give up everything. And furthermore... how do I tell her that I wouldn't want her to make that sacrifice? She had the idea firm in her mind, and I don't know how to break it to her without... breaking her heart.

I looked back down as she smiled up at me, realizing that no matter how much we argue-- we make up and we don't hold grudges about it. I smiled as she lifted her hand to my cheek, closing my eyes. "I think mostly my mother wishes you weren't so girly." I said, my tone amused, before I opened my emerald eyes to look at her once more. "And, I don't think grandchildren is the most important thing on her mind..." I mean, she knows we're having the children already. I think mostly she's concerned for me, my health and my safety.

I shook my head as I adjusted myself slightly in the seat. "You mean good an evil, love. You know as well as I do that light does not mean good and dark does not mean evil." I said. I hated the assumption that light automatically good and dark was automatically evil. I was nitpicking, but that one little thing got in my nerves more often then not. I wasn't mad at her, but if she can get annoyed at word choice so can I. It was one of the reasons why I picked the shadows, and I was showing people every day not to fear the dark.

She was impressed by the description of how fast I could think. And it was true... to control my movements at the speeds I could fly, I had to think ahead, and my mind had to be faster. "It is possible." I said. "Humans are capable of out-thinking supercomputers... it takes training and conditioning, but I'm sure you can learn to think and react that fast. And I'd be fulling willing to help you reach that point." As for her comment about the coffee spilling on the child. "A cup of coffee... isn't going to kill a kid." I said, sounding slightly confused. "Why... would would you try to push them out of the way? How is the child going to learn that Coffee = hot if they are shielded from it?" I asked her. I then sucked down a breath, putting my hands together infront of me. "Now, don't get me wrong... I don't want to see anyone suffer, much less children... but if you shield a child from everything that hurts, you're going to be sending them all the wrong messages." I paused. "My parents did something while they were raising me, and I didn't understand why when I was living with them... but I do now. They did not allow me to heal via magical means, only natrual means. Can you figure out why?" I asked her. She's seen the scars I have, though faded. Larissa was the first person to use a healing spell on me, (besides myself, of course) even Dr. Mark hasn't used his magic to heal me and he's my personal doctor! "Go ahead and take your time thinking about it... it is a rule I myself will want to put in place for our children." She may very well get mad at me for suggesting this, but it was one of the ways my parents raised me not to be a spoiled brat.

"Being a better person then you were yesterday." I said, hoping that clarified things. "And yes, practice practice practice."

She then told me that she was willing to extend her lifespan to be with me. I smiled, not helping the look of contentment on my face. "That means a lot to me, thank you." She wouldn't want to live forever, and she's said so... but a few extra hundred years to a millennia with company would be nice.

She mentioned that she cares more about us then herself, and I got that concerned look again. She spoke of not everyone ending up messed up in the head. "But that's the thing." I said. "There's a reason why resurrection is a highly discouraged thing to do. I know it's possible with enough power and the right conduits, but dying itself is stressful enough on a soul... bringing it back is, I think, possibly even more so." I sighed. "Think of what you'd be putting them through to bring them back. First they end up in whatever afterlife, after what is most likely a grueling journey to get there, and then they are called back and they have to make another one. Crossing realms is not easy and not fun!" I shook my head. "And that's on-top of having to deal with whatever stress they were under during their last moments... only the most mentally fortuitous of people come back from the dead without some form of PTSD.... and at that point, they wouldn't be happy. They'd likely be stressed and sad and confused." I know we were talking last resorts here, but I was trying to stress why I didn't want her taking that option even if one of us died. "If I was brought back only to find that my wife is dead, or my mom, or my mage... to find that they'd sacrifice themselves only to leave me alone... I wouldn't be happy. Not happy at all."

Then the topic moved back to exercise. I shrugged when she said she wouldn't want to be an athlete. "I know it can get boring." I said. "It's why I know a few different forms of exercise, in case I get bored. Dancing, ballet, ice skating..." I made a thoughtful noise. "Would you like to perhaps to learn some kind of dance for getting fit?" I asked her. "Capoeia is a fun dance martial art, but there's always classics like ballet or waltz and things. You like to dance, don't you?"

Well, she wasn't going to argue with me causing trouble for Heather if she caused trouble for us. I couldn't help a brief smirk.

But the smirk turned tender as she thanked me for letting her in. For taking that chance. She was cute, with her face red from both the cold and no doubt a blush. "You are welcome." I said, holding her hand as she ran her thumb in patterns over the back of mine. "And I will. You have no idea how much it means to me that you love me, not my wealth or my reputation."

Then she told me she would feel bad if I was spending all the money. I smiled and winked at her; "If you're sure, I'll hold you to that." I said as I took a swig of my hot chocolate.

We snuggled the rest of the trip, and I dismounted after Larissa picked up a snoozing Poff and dismounted from the carrige. The sleigh lefted after we got off, and I looked on as my breath puffed.

"Well, what do you want to do now?" I asked. "We could go to bed, or we could maybe go find some of those toys we were talking about earlier~" I suggested with a wink to the sleepy Larissa.

Larissa didn't know what Midnight was thinking but needless to say, if she had, she probably would have promised not to drag Midnight back from godhood once they died. Dying of your own choice and having that choice taken away early were two different things. The witch would understand not to bring back someone who doesn't want to come back. If Midnight didn't want Larissa to do everything in her power to bring them back should they die prematurely and against their will, all they had to do was tell her. She'd respect that.

She smiled wryly as Midnight spoke about their mother. Larissa's mother in law. Wow, that was a weird thought. She was going to take a while to get used to some things. "Well, I am what I am, and like most people, I just want to be accepted for who I am. Being this way makes me happy so I don't want to change. At least, not only to please someone else so that they'd accept me" Larissa blinked as she remembered that Perla and Quirrel already knew their secret. Oh. She forgot. Oh well, hopefully she could find a way to get along with Perla and there wouldn't be too much trouble between them.

She pouted when Midnight had said good and evil "Why do you always have to ruin my analogies? I thought that was a good one!" she complained. "I know that. But light is often used to symbolise good while dark is often used to symbolise evil, so I was going with that. It made sense...even if it wasn't that accurate. I'm just saying, the way they're raised makes a difference in who they become. If you encourage the good and discourage the bad, then it should be okay"

She had been surprised when Midnight reminded her that people could out think computers. "I dunno...I think I'm more like a super computer in regards to intelligence" she said with a chuckle, "But you can try. I guess it wouldn't hurt. Just acknowledge that I'm not perfect and I'm going to make mistakes. And I'm not going to be able to win every situation that comes along"

"No, but it could give them serious burns if it's hot" she replied as to the spilled coffee. "Tea, coffee, anything that's at boiled temperature could leave some nasty scalds or burns and kids' skin is really delicate. All it takes is a second for something like that to happen"

She had listened to them speak of not shielding kids from everything. "I know that. And I wasn't planning to shield them from everything. Just from third degree burns and things like that. I'm not going to be neglectful but I'm not going to be overprotective either. You don't have to worry"

She had a think about why Midnight's parents only let them use natural healing and had a vague idea why "I don't really know. I guess it's okay for us to implement that rule with our babies...but if they get seriously injured, I think we should relax that rule and heal them magically. I kind of get why your parents used that rule. So they don't rely on magic as a convenience and get spoiled. But in emergencies I think using magic would be okay"

"Oh. So the me that was me yesterday isn't good enough?" she questioned. "I don't quite understand ...but I suppose just trying to be the best person you can would be fine" she said. "Learning from mistakes and all that"

Her smile was bright when Midnight thanked her for stating she wanted to live longer to stay with them. "Human lifespans are way too short anyway. And it will give me something fun to do when the kids are old enough to take care of themselves. They might even want to come with me as I quest for the key to longer life and youth" she grinned. "We could be an adventuring family and explore the world. And I'd double as a traveling merchant. No one's going to try and steal from someone who has a dragon guarding their stuff"

She was thoughtful about resurrection "I don't know. Some people are just happy to be back alive with their loved ones" she said. "I mean, wouldn't you want to bring back our child if one of them died? I don't think everyone has such a rough time of things crossing from one realm to the other and I'd search for the best ways to bring someone back with the least negative impacts" she stated. "Ohh. No, I didn't mean dying in order to bring someone back. Otherwise that's kind of pointless. Just making sacrifices. I might have to lose my sight, or cut off an arm, or become unable to walk and be in a wheelchair or something, but it would totally be worth it to have them here with us again. That's what I meant. Dying kind of removes the point of bringing them back"

She hummed over the exercise thing. "Dancing...could be fun" she agreed. "I used to dance with my dad" she smiled. "I think Rock n Roll dancing could be a lot of fun. And waltz's and things so we can dance romantically together. But just...understand, that I'm happy with my body as it is. There's not many people who are. So I don't want to be pushed too hard. I just want to have fun doing something whether it be swimming, walking or dancing. And I'm sure I can fit all three of those into my weekly routine!"

"I'm sure" she promised with confidence about earning her own living and not just relying on her partner to buy everything. "I always wanted to have a business. Being able to call yourself a crystal witch is fun and it could also help people while giving me something to do"

They had snuggled until the sleigh pulled back in and dropped them back at the hotel. She yawned as she held Poff in her arms. The cat slowly woke up, copied Larissa's yawn and shook her head. She crawled up onto her witche's shoulders and sprawled out, looking more alert after her little nap.

"I think I got a little too cosy on that sleigh ride" Larissa chuckled. She blushed happily at Midnight's suggestion they go shopping for a few things "Oh, yeah, that sounds good. Maybe they sell transformation spells there too, so I can do that thing we talked about earlier" she grinned. "This is what honeymoons are for after all. Let's do it!" she agreed. She took Midnight's hand in hers and started to walk in the direction of the store, recalling where it was located from the map display of the shopping centre.

When they reached the store, she checked both ways before sneaking in and starting to look around.

User Image"Ehhh, she's concerned that if we get into a tough spot you'll use your girlyness as an excuse not to help me." I said in response to Larissa's thoughts on my mother. "And, no doubt she's seen women just as girly or even more so then you try to use their gender as an excuse not to do the things that need to be done, gross, unpleasant, or annoying things that they are. She is a business mogul, after all." I shrugged. "Maybe the fight at the wedding changed her mind some about you. Maybe she wasn't paying attention. I dunno. But you were there for me when I needed it." I smiled. "She's not right."

Her reaction to my nitpicking was a pout. "Because you know that symbolism gets on my nerves. I hate it." I responded, shaking my head to her complaint. "All that does is hurt those who practice both." As for the notion of raising children... "I suddenly wonder how the drow and other evil societies raise their kids. Do they encourage that kind of behavior? Do the kids learn by watching their parents? ... I should stop before my morbid curiosity gets the better of me."

"I'm not expecting you too." I on the following up comment about the computer. "But, I am simply asking you to try."

"Sure, I don't." I said, not helping the minor sarcasm in my voice as she spoke about the burns coffee could have. "A second degree burn isn't going to kill a child. It'll hurt for a while, but with some aloe vera, they'll be okay. And if it's unattended in a cup it's likely not even going to leave a first degree burn." Coffee cools, after all.

She thought about it, and convince... eh, one way of looking at it. "I was a rich kid." I explained. "My parents had it all, money, a big house, whatever services they need. That's the recipe for a spoiled brat right there." I said. "So they had to teach me that despite the money, despite the house, despite it all the world did not revolve around me. They did this by letting me deal with the consequences of my actions." I shrugged. "Broke my arm? I got it professionally set back into shape and a cast on my arm for 6 months. Got burned? Aloe Vera and bandages. Stuck my finger in a light socket? Check to make sure I wasn't going to have a heart attack and tell me 'that's why you don't stick your finger in a light socket.'" I snorted. "And honestly? Our kids will be in the same kind of situation. A second degree burn does not warrant a healing spell. A 3rd degree? Maybe, depending on location. With this rule a serious injury is not enough. We have one of the best doctors as my personal doctor, after all. Only a fatal injury would warrant a healing spell. Nothing less. And if I'm honest, if we're doing our jobs as parents-- they won't be getting fatally injured." Be stern, Midnight. If Larissa gets her way the children will be coddled with healing spells. "Besides, pain will toughen them. It will make them stronger, or it will teach them to be cautious with their actions. Possibly even both."

"And you complain that I pick apart your analogies." I said, suppressing an eye roll. "Seeking self improvement is a good thing to do."

Next we moved back to the topic of the her extending her lifespan. "I might like that." I said, thrumming. "I've always wondered what life on the road was like."

I made a an 'eh' face at her words about resurrection. "... It's pretty much expected for them to have a rough time, Larissa. Dying is stressful to the max. And depending on the afterlife they end up in? I'd leave them be. If they ended up stuck in Limbo, yeah, sure, bring them back-- they're not going anywhere, Limbo sucks royally. It's the place you go to if no one can decide what to do with you. If they're in the Abyss... I am not sure what kind of person we raised and we should probably leave them there. But if they're in Nirvana or Elysium or some place like that... they're someplace far better then here." I lifted my hands to the sky, looking up. "I don't know about you, but I think it would be terribly selfish to drag someone out of paradise. If you're not happy there, you're not happy anywhere." At the examples of the sacrifices she would make. "And then you get to watch or listen them weep over what you did to yourself to get them back... when they might not even want to return in the first place." I wondered if she had considered the thought of them wanting to return or not.

"I like the way you are too." I said, as she brought up hoe she liked her body. I gently cuddled her. "I am not making comments about your figure, love. But what I'm trying to say is that being active and fit has it's benefits. That discomfort doesn't last forever." In-fact, if she was still getting discomfort after this long, she may not be working out hard enough. I then thought about something. "Are you telling me that if the method of extending your lifespan had exercise as a part of it, you wouldn't do it?" I prodded. A lot of the oldest people I know do at the bare minimum 4 miles of walking a day. And that's with no extra magical shenanigans added in. "You're beautiful to me whether you're chubby or toned. But I do care about your health, and that's why I encourage you to exercise. Is that so bad?" She mentioned dancing with her father though, and I nodded. "I look forward to waltzing with you and doing the tango~"

Off the sleigh, Larissa liked the idea of shopping for some naughty things. I shook my head when she tried to enter the shop incognito. When will she learn that sex is not something to be ashamed of?

Walking in, I paused as a familiar scent greeted my nose. Hellfire? Here? It wasn't particularly strong though... My head whipped around as I gazed around the shop, to see a succubus standing behind the cash register-- playing with a cell phone.

I left Larissa to her not so subtle sneaky looking as I wandered over to the cash register.

She glanced up. "Can I help you?" She sounded bored. She wasn't trying to hide her small horns or the long whiplike tail that was tipped with an arrowhead shape.

"I'm curious... how long have you worked here?" I asked her.

She blinked. "That's... an odd question. I thought I was used to all the odd questions by now." She seemed puzzled as her tail swayed back and forth. "About a year, roughly."

I squinted at her, but I think she's being truthful. "Okay. Thanks."

"So what's got you so interested, oh holy one?" She asked me, giving me a flirty glance.

I froze mid turn back towards Larissa. "Uh, you can tell that?"

"You reek of sacred darkness. Just as I smell of hellfire." She smiled. "Screwing angels is always interesting~" She purred.

Huh. Better she thinks of me as an angel rather then a godling. "Sorry, but I'm on my honeymoon." I said, lifting a hand and showing off the ring.

"Oh?" She seemed surprised, and then she gave me a genuine smile. "Well then, for the happy couple I can give you a discount." She winked at me. "If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask~"

"I won't." I said cheerfully before I headed back to Larissa.

They talked along the way to the shop, walking down the hallway past racks of clothes, items and displays outside the front of various stores. Larissa again didn't agree with everything her mate said or thought but she tried to see things her way as best she could and just go along with it. She didn't want to argue constantly. Sometimes the best thing was just to nod and agree.

As they entered the shop, Larissa detected the smell of hellfire after some minutes. Her nose wasn't as sensitive as Midnight's so it took a while for the smell to reach her. She felt faintly nauseated, as she always did when demonic scents were strong enough to bother her. She hurried along one aisle of items towards Midnight to tell her there was a demon in the shop and probably after them but she stopped just out of sight when she saw the succubus and her spouse talking together. Phew, it was safe. If the demon had been dangerous, Midnight would have attacked them already.

She went back to browsing the shelves discreetly while leaving Midnight to chat. While they talked, she managed to find a potion that would transform part of her lower regions, like they talked about earlier. She looked both ways before quickly taking it off the shelf and wandering back out to Midnight. She walked up to them "Midnight, I found the transformation spell. It's a potion" She also pulled something out of her pocket "And these dice...you uh, roll them and um...do different things that they say" she blushed, showing her the pink and red dice with writing or pictures on them to spice things up in the bedroom.

Poff looked around the store and at the items Larissa held to show to Midnight. "Do you mind if I go out to explore while you two have your fun later?"

Larissa looked up at the cat. "Of course not. I'm sure Sapphire and Gossamer would want to go with you. We'll be occupied for some time and...well, you guys can find things to do. Just don't get into trouble"

User Image I chatted with the shopkeep a little bit, though I didn't really answer her question as to why I was interested.

I broke off from the chat when Larissa approached, presenting the potion and the dice. The shopkeep smiled, pushing herself up from where she had been leaning on the counter. "Ah, I sense kinky things." She said with a mildy fangy smirk. "I approve."

She took the potion and the dice after they were placed on the counter, and rang them up. "Just so you know, this is a temp potion. We don't keep the permanent potions on the shelf."

"Let me guess, people not reading the label?" I asked with a smirk.

"Oh yeah." She said. "Too much trouble for the company's taste."

I picked up the bottle and looked it over as she rung up the dice. "What can you tell me about it?"

"That's a week-long transformation that affects just the genitalia." She said, the half-succubus's eyes on the screen. Her tail was swishing back and forth slowly as she was applying the honeymoon discount. "Genitalia grown is authentic in appearance and sensation, though it will lack reproductive qualities. It's so our customers get a feel for it before starting what is for most life changing. Most of the permanent potions are taken by people transitioning from one gender to another."

"And the effects of the permanent potion?" I said, glancing at the succubus.

"The genitalia will be full functional." She stated, finishing the transaction and I placed the bottle down on the counter. "The person taking the potion will experience hormonal changes as the amounts of estrogen and testosterone even out in their systems. There are some... well. Bone structure changes that will also occur, like for men their hips widening to be even with their shoulders and visa versa with women. It's painful but short, two or three days at the most."

"Hormonal changes..." I trailed off.

She stopped to look at me, before she took a deep breath in through her nose and glanced at Larissa and I. She worked things out pretty fast.

"Oh. Oh." She smiled. "The temp potion is perfectly safe. The permanent potion is too, but I'd recommend talking to a doctor before taking it. Afterwards would not be a problem at all."

I nodded. "Thank you."

Her expression turned pleased as her tail started swishing back and forth behind her like a contented cat.

Meanwhile, Gossamer and Sapphire looked over at Larissa talking with Poff.

"Sure. I'm sure there are things around here for Familiars." Sapphire said in her chittery voice.

Once the items had been bought and bagged, Larissa headed back to their room with Midnight and their familiars went to head to the familiar catered hang outs and shops the resort offered. Some of them were different environments, for instance, a jungle, a cave with crystals and rock formations, a sandy beach, a park with trees to climb and stuff to play with, too many to name...they offered anything an animal familiar would enjoy and let their wild side come out. For every type of familiar. Others were bathroom facilities, beauty spas for massage and grooming, places to eat, and more.

With their familiars happily occupied for the rest of the night, Larissa didn't feel guilty for leaving them or worry about them. She could sense Poff's presence in the building and that also put her at ease. Once in the safety of their locked room, she took the potion, a bit hesitantly at first because she wasn't sure of the taste. But then spent a night of rolicking fun being intimate with her mate in all different ways, in different areas of their quarters. Needless to say they were thoroughly worn out by the end of it and fell asleep in each other's arms, tangled together in the big comfy bed.

Larissa slept in before getting up and ready for the day. She wanted to make the most of the time they had here and make sure that she and Midnight had an awesome, fun time they'd remember forever. So, they looked at brochures and picked out stuff to do. They packed their day full of activities. Larissa enjoyed trying to learn how to ski, how to snowboard and how to go sledding. She wasn't good at the first two but the third she surprised herself by haviing some talent for it. They took a break to warm up with some cheese fondue which they dipped snacks into.

Then it was back for more fun in the white powder mountains. Midnight convinced her to try dog sledding and that was a blast! Larissa was scared of losing control of the dogs but Midnight had a knack for it and they raced each others teams of dogs around the long race course for three laps before Midnight skimmed across the finish line with their team. Larissa laughed and congratulated her as she knelt to pat the huskies and let them lick her face.

They made their way back to the common area to decide where to go and what to do next. "Hey, you were saying you wanted to do the adventure park, why don't we head over there next?" Larissa asked, puffing a bit from the exertions earlier. "Poff must be having a blast, I've been sensing extremely relaxed and happy feelings from her since last night"

User ImageThat evening was spent lovemaking, and Larissa was more willing to do kinky stuff then I thought she would be. With the familiars having their own fun, we were left to our own devices and sleep greeted us as we were happily nestled in eachother's arms. I woke up before Larissa, but I didn't bother to get up as I just held my wonderful bride. I got up when she did, so we left to go on our adventure together.

We went skiing and snowboarding and sledding, and Larissa enjoyed sledding the most out of the three; I enjoyed snowboarding myself, reminds me of a cold, fluffy version of surfing when my family would visit the tropics every other summer. Needless to say I took to that one really well.

Some fondue later, (they had some good fondue, served in a very nice and sturdy cast iron pot. I took note, as Larissa seemed to enjoy it so I might try to find a good recipe for cheese fondue sometime!

We dried dog sledding and from the look of Larissa's face as they raced their dogs around the long course, she was having more fun then she anticipated. Around we went for three laps, before I urged my happy huskies to the finish line. And then we spent like 10 minutes petting the dogs and telling them what good puppies they were.

Next Larissa suggested the adventure park. I grinned at her as she puffed from all the exercise. "Let's get some hot coco and go for the adventure park. I think they have snow tubing or gondola rides in the trees so we can see the forest from above." At the mention of poff I smiled at her. "I think the familiars might have found a spa. Gossamer and Sapphire are super relaxed too."

We got some more of that warming coco and headed out to the adventure park. It was a thickly forested part of the resort, and the trail lead us to a clearing. The tubing was a long slightly rounded strip in which people could ride on what was basically large inflatable inner-tubes on the slippery strip, bouncing into each other like bumper cars. The other side had a gondola system, much like the gondolas that would take skiers and snowboarders up to the top of the slopes so they could slide down. This system, however, would take the riders on a trip through the canopy of the forest.

"Shall we do the forest ride first?" I asked Larissa, and I still had my cocoa in my hand in a warm flask. "Give us a break before we go back to riding things?"

"Wow, that sounds fun. What's snow tubing?" Larissa asked. She sipped her hot coco gratefully, wrapping her chilled hands around the flask.

She giggled when Midnight mentioned what their familiars were up to. "Oh yeah, that's totally Poff. I can just see her doing that. I'm glad Sapphire and Gossamer are having a nice time too" she sipped on her drink, feeling the pleasant warmth spread through her body with a magical tingle.

"We're probably going to need to visit the spa after everything we get up to today. I'm sure I pulled muscles during the skiing and stuff" She winced at a few bruises and sore muscles. Falling down snow hills and crashing into pine trees will do that to a person. She walked with Midnight to the park area, enjoying the scenery around the trail. She watched the people doing tubing with a mixture of fear and excitement "Oh gosh, that looks wild" she laughed a bit. "Fun, but scary, like theme park rides"

She then looked around some more and spotted the gondalas, right as Midnight asked if they should do the forest ride. She found herself quickly agreeing to that idea. "Yeah, let's do that. I don't think I'm ready to face more extreme winter sports straight away" she chuckled, giving a soft grunt as some of her pulled muscles complained at her movements.

She went to the boarding station with Midnight and they waited for a free gondola to pull up. Larissa opened the door and climbed in, holding the door open for Midnight "We got one to ourselves. Lucky!" she sang with a grin. "Wonder if we'll see any animals or magical creatures in the forest?"

As she sat back and Midnight got comfy, the door of the small space closed and sealed and the gondola lifted off the platform, jerking and swaying as it started to move forwards. She gave a small gasp and gripped onto the hand holds. Larissa was kind of scared, but after flying on dragonback and riding the ski lifts, she was getting better with heights.

"Do you think there'll be snow fairies in the forest?" she asked. "I really hope so. What other magical creatures like snowy climes?"

User Image"I think it's like one of those tube rivers at a water park, but you're sliding on snow rather then floating on water." I said when she asked what snow tubing was. The hot coco was wonderful, and I was glad to have it as we trekked to the adventure park.

"Haha, sounds good." I said. She had done a lot of crashing; and I had crashed some myself; though I think my balance has improved since becoming a dragon. I didn't know if I had any bruises, I don't feel any... though I am a lot tougher then I was before.

She agreed that the gondolas would be better for a break. I smiled. "Well then, shall we?" I offered her my arm as we headed over to the waiting area and to climb into the gondola.

"Very nice." I said as we got one to ourselves. We sat across from eachother, me on one side her on the other. I smiled at her before the gondola started moving, with a short jerk she squeaked and gripped the hand holds. I just relaxed against the seat I was practically lounging in, looking through the windows. "Maybe. The ride wouldn't be so popular if there wasn't something magical to see."

"I see. It must be quite thrilling" she replied to Midnight's answer about the snow tubing. "Or should I say; chilling! Ha ha" she made a bad pun and laughed about it. "We'll try it out after this if you want"

She'd been surprised when Midnight had a few tumbles during the snowboarding, skiing and sledding. But not overly so since it was possibly the dragon's first time trying them too. She'd helped them up a few times and they'd returned the favour. Midnight did seem to pick things up faster than Larissa however. It made sense though because ice and snow were Midnight's elements. Or at least, she was a good ice skater and she loved the cold.

"I'm glad you're not a dragon right now" Larissa joked with Midnight. "Imagine trying to fit all of you in here. The gondola would probably explode. It's a good thing you don't weigh the same in human form too. I assume that's how that works"

"I hope you're right" she said to Midnight. And thankfully, Midnight was proven right. As the gondola traveled through the forest, there were many sights to see. Larissa spotted arctic foxes playing together in the snow then they passed an area with a sculpture of an ice palace where it had been magically enhanced to shimmer and shine while large decorative snow flakes fell around it. They also passed an illusion of ballerinas made of ice dancing in a quiet, snowy clearing. They looked so real, Larissa wondered if they were a race of people who loved the cold and couldn't feel it. Their tutus were so delicate and frilly and crystals of ice glittered all over the outfits and frosted jewels the dancers wore.

They passed what looked like parties of seals and penguins sliding down curved tunnels and slides carved out of the snow and diving into a forest pool to swim and play. Some of the seals tossed rubber balls back and forth, others jumped through magical floating hoops, penguins raced each other on a set of multiple slides stacked together, gliding down on their bellies and slipping along the long ends of the slides before coming to a stop in the snow. Another scene showed penguins and seals making sushi with fish they had caught. And another scene showed them playing ice hockey with pucks they punted around like crazy.

A small train track wended through the trees, near the tops of them, winding around and through them. It bore little chipmunks sitting in its carriages waving to the people on the gondolas and puffs of icy steam with snowflakes in it puffed out of its chimney.

There was a whole tiny village made by some of the forest fairies that lived in this area and as they passed through it, Larissa got very exited. "Do you think they're real fairies, Midnight?! Oh I hope so! They are so beautiful!" she cried with her hands and nose pressed to the glass of the gondola as she tried to take in every sight. the fairies had made little homes that looked like clear Christmas baubles made of pure ice magic, and had round openings in one side of them, and inside the baubles of different sizes were different types of buildings and scenes. Fairies fluttered up to the windows of the gondola to wave at the passengers, breathe frost on the glass and draw on it, tap the glass and generally put on a show for them.

"This is like a theme park ride, only it's better because of magic!" Larissa enthused. "I LOVE MAGIC!" she laughed and threw her hands in the air.

User Image"I don't think it would explode." I said, considering the other people these gondolas were made to handle. "Though, I imagine it would get mighty cramped in here if I was to transform."

We watches as the gondola was lifted through the trees, giving us a birds eye tour of a winter wonderland. I watches just as attentively, though perhaps a bit more calmly as we saw the magical sights. It certainly was whimsical; the ice sculpture, the illusion of ballerinas (the area tasted of illusion magic). Seals and penguins doing a variety of silly things, hokey and rings and racing. Even sushi. I did like the chipmunks on trains in the trees. That was cute.

The fairies village made me lean over to look as well, though I kept a more respectful expression on my face and I didn't plaster my face against the glass like Larissa did. still, I was glad the ice fairies didn't mind (though, now that I think about it, if the fae did mind they would move their little village, wouldn't they?)

After the fae village I just smiled at Larissa before something shiny flashed by the Gondola, and I snapped my head to the side to look. It was... it looked like a large, powerful bird of prey, with a straight crow like beak and bright eyes; the creature's wings looked strong and it's tail feathers were long and flamboyant; and the bird looked like it was made of ice.

"Ice Phoenix!" I said, leaning over towards the window as the bird soared past, a chiming like call like the tinking of glass or ice. It circled around the gondola once, leaving a misty glittering trail in it's wake as it swiftly vanished into the trees. "Beautiful."

Continuing to watch, the forest seemed to get denser and somehow darker even this high up, as the gondolas went deeper into the forest where the trees were taller. My sharp vision picked out a snowy white nine-tailed fox in a clearing below, cleaning her fur before her ear twitched and she vanished into the trees.

"Hmm, wonder what kinds of things they'll have set up out here." I mused.

"Oh yeah, we'd both be squished! And that's not comfy" she replied, still joking lightly. "These might be magically enhanced to take any weight and displace it. I've read about spells similar to that at school anyway"

Once the gondola left the section of the fae village behind, Larissa calmed down again and watched their surroundings in quiet but rapt fascination. She marvelled at the beautiful bird and the sounds it made, loving the pretty glitter trail it left in its wake.

"Yeah. It's amazing. I always thought phoenixes were made of fire and heat, didn't even know there were other elements of phoenix. I guess they're very rare?" she commented. "I feel lucky to have seen it with you. Maybe it's a good omen for us" she said, placing her hand on Midnight's and squeezing lightly as she gave her an affectionate glance.

As the forest got denser and darker, Larissa found it harder to make things out. But this place was home to all sorts of magical creatures and races that lived in the mountain forests. The gondolas took visitors through a small portion of the massive forest, and people could not enter it but they could watch as the forest inhabitants went about their lives.

She saw odd little mossy statues and shrines in some areas, likely to different gods. And there were animals, both fantasy and normal kinds. Tiny finches that huddled in the branches, small gnomes with homes in tree trunks, bears and bear like animals, snow leopard with her cubs, a wolf or two, some enormous spiderwebs woven into the most intricate patterns, with snowflakes and ice crystal caught in them...

Larissa swore she saw a dryad emerge from the trunk of a tree which had a door in it that disappeared if you looked too long. She appeared to be wearing a dress made of pine branches decorated with ornaments and looked like a walking Christmas tree.

"This whole forest is enchanted...I bet the things and peoples living in here really didn't like it when the resort developers wanted to build so near to them. They must have settled some kind of agreement. I do notice that no one from the resort can get into the forest from the gondolas or the snow - oh my god, what is that?" she pointed out what looked like a sculpture of a dragon, covered in moss, trees growing out of it, flowers and ferns sprouting up from it. "I thought I saw an eye, just for a split second....and a tiny puff of breath" she whispered, as though scared it would hear her.

"And what the heck are those things?" they were odd sort of loping things that looked like ogre type of things made of the same wood and rocks as the trees and forest. They wore crude scraps of cloth and loincloths and carried clubs and slings. Larissa snapped pictures with her phone "I'll have to look them up back at the hotel some time" she muttered, saving the dark pictures that likely would be hard to see or not able to be seen at all.

Once the gondola reached the end of the track, it landed in another station which rotated them back around and along the track they had already came.

"Well, I am officially freaked out now. Now that I've seen some of what lives in these mountain forests" she shuddered. "I think we better go snow tubing to take our minds off them. I honestly can't tell how many were illusions and how many were real"

User ImageAs the ride got darker and the gondola seemed to enter more dangerous territory, I pulled Larissa close and held her as we continued on. The wildlife was wonderful to see, the finches, the snow leopards, the bears. I'm glad the gnomes were faring well in their little houses in the trees.

I saw the dryad too, in her highly ornamental pine gown, and smiled.

Shortly thereafter Larissa pointed out what appeared to be a dragon, covered in moss and sleeping in the snow... at least until one eye opened to look at us and a puff of smoke from it's nose. I bowed my head respectfully; clearly we're just passing through. "I saw him too. My scent might have woken him. I hope the gondola station is not too far away..."

The next things we saw were what seemed to be loping creatures made of stone and carrying clubs. "I wonder if those are trolls." I said, trying to remember. "Strone trolls, I think?" Larissa snapped some pictures, maybe we can find out back at the hotel.

I held Larissa in my arms for the rest of the ride, and soon enough we reached the station and got out.

"Sure, we can go tubing." I said, reaching out with a smile and taking her hand. "Let the adrenaline take our minds off of things."

However, the optimistic smile didn't last long. We reached the area with the innertube like snowtubes and I saw a couple of familiar faces, which made me frown.

"For the last time, I'm not going to help you try to cancel the concert!" Said the gruff voice of a man who was standing in the line for the tubes, blocking access to the doughnut shaped blow up devices. "And no, I'm not interested in you either!" He crossed his arms, showing off the big thick black jacket he was wearing and the appropriate ski pants and boots. His hair was a reddish brown, sticking out in tufts from under his beanie.

"Oh come on~" Said the auburn haired woman who was right next to him; stepping forward to lean up on her tippy toes, to land a peck on his chin. "You don't know what you're missing, sweetie pie." Her garb was more feminine and revealing, a pale yellow sweater and a white miniskirt, and a pair of yellow thigh high boots. She was wearing no jacket to speak of. The woman herself was pale, with deep icy blue eyes that seemed to glow and her lips were a deep icy cyan as well. It was Heather, my ex.

Her words may seem nice, but my sharp ears could hear the condescending tone from here. I let go and hurried forward.

"Excuse me." I commented as both stopped to look at me. "I hate to get in the way of your argument, but you're kinda blocking the line...?"

Heather looked at me, pursing her blue lips as she studied me and my face; I was uncomfortably aware of how her eyes noticed the gem-like shimmer of my hair and emerald eyes.

"Do I know you, stranger?" She asked me with a coy smile, and it took everything I had not to look away or stare.

"Probably not." I said, glancing to the man. "... You're the drummer from Black Roses, aren't you?"

"I'm surprised, most people give Marianne the attention." he said. "I like you, stranger." He held out a gloved hand to shake, and I took it and gave him a hearty handshake.

I had pulled my hand away when I felt arms around my shoulder, and a body that was far too slender to be Larissa's press up against my back. "I swear I know you, sweet thing~" She said, her lips puffing warmpth next to my ear.

I froze, torn between several reactions before I turned my head and growled. "Let go of me." I said in a deep growl.

She actually let go; the sound made her step back, a look of startled surpise on her face. I lifted my hand, the glint from my wedding band catching the light. This made her pout and cross her arms.

"Do not touch me again." I growled again, before stepping past the drummer towards the tubes, a scowl on my face. It didn't last long before the drummer corrected this by saying "That was totally metal, stranger."

I paused with a smirk. "That was, wasn't it?"

Larissa felt safe and loved in Midnight's embrace as the gondola journeyed silently through the deep forest. Her soft, warm body warmed Midnight's cooler one and she was glad of their presence. When Midnight bowed their head out of respect to the other dragon, Larissa took note of the gesture and when Midnight spoke, that confirmed it was real. She tensed at that though she tried to quell her fears. "Yeah, me too" she whispered, afraid somehow the dragon could hear them. Maybe it could.

"I don't know. They're really weird looking, kind of like aliens..bugs...but with skin made to blend in with the forest surroundings" she said quietly, speaking a little louder. "They're hanging around near the spiderwebs...odd"

She was glad to be in her lover's arms for the rest of their mysterious and thrilling journey. Larissa was suddenly very very glad the forest around the academy didn't have as many things living in it. Or if they did, they were out in the deeper, more untouched parts, though occasionally creatures would stray close to the academy.

She smiled when Midnight agreed to tubing "All right!" she let out a high pitched cheer and clapped her hands together. Her flask of cocoa had been drained earlier during the ride and she could feel the magical warmth steadying her against the chilly air of the snow mountains. She clasped onto Midnight's hand and giggled "Yup! It looks super exciting. I'm probably gonna scream a bit. I'll try not to".

When they reached the boarding area with all the snow tubes waiting for riders, things took a new turn. Larissa didn't have a clue who the two people standing in front of them were but their conversation instantly had her attention. She frowned slightly as the woman tried to charm the man, with limited results. She didn't like what the woman was saying or doing. And how the heck was she not freezing in that yellow sweater? It's cold as glaciers out here. She looked at Midnight with questions in her eyes as her mate released her hand and stepped up to the pair.

Larissa hoped they'd apologise and let them through at Midnight's request. This was annoying, it was stopping their fun. Important once in a lifetime memories were in the making here! Larissa watched Heather suspiciously as the blonde woman eyed off her mate and she stepped closer to Midnight, grabbing a tiny bit of the hem of their shirt at the back. Her own wedding band gleamed on her third finger of her left hand.

She didn't speak, not wanting to interrupt. Midnight was capable of keeping things under control.

Her eyes widened in surprise when Midnight named the guy as drummer from Black Roses. Hm. Larissa thought she might have heard of that band from some of their friends but she couldn't recall their music. She smiled at his words, instantly liking him a lot more than the pushy girl who'd been trying to get her way. She stole furtive glances at her, glaring at her outright when she put her arms around Midnight's shoulder. How dare she! That - that wench! Larissa growled. It was girly and huffy but it was still a growl. "Hey!" she shouted when Heather completely ignored her presence and pressed her slim body against Midnight's. Larissa was jealous of her - pretty stick figure Barbie doll. Well, maybe old fashioned Barbie dolls, the newer ones had different body types and heights and everything these days!

She instantly felt her hackles rise as a fierce jealousy and possessiveness came over her. And of course her anger flared up. "Let go! Midnight's Mine you b***h!" Larissa hissed just as Midnight uttered a sharp growl that drowned out her words.

Larissa turned her narrow eyed look of rage on the woman, eyes flashing "Try that again, and I'll curse you so bad you'll wish you were dead!" she threatened, hand having shot into her pocket where she kept her wand. She itched to whip it out and sling the nastiest curse she could think of at the woman. Larissa didn't normally deal in curses and dark magics, but she knew of them and would try!

She followed Midnight closely, reaching out to grab the hem of their shirt again as she kept right behind them. She suspiciously kept glaring over her shoulder at Heather. "I don't like that woman. Let's avoid her as much as possible" she said to her mate. Even the compliment from the drummer dude couldn't cheer her up. "I want to put a curse on her. A ton of curses" Larissa growled. "And maybe scratch her eyes out...so she can't look at you that way ever. again."

She didn't specialise in curses but if that b***h did anything to Midnight, she'd learn how real quick.
