Hey Kyren?

How do you breed for good IV's?

Well, it's tricky. You can't breed for good IVs per say, but if you have multiple Pokemon each with a good IV in a different stat (that are egg group compatible) you can transfer a max of three different IVs onto the babies from the parents. So let's say I want an Eevee with 31 IVs in Speed, Special Attack and Attack (don't ask why I'd want such a thing, it's just an example pirate ). So I'd breed in the following way (note: I'm going to describe it with a Ditto to simplify it, but essentially any compatible Pokemon could work):

First breed an Eevee with a Ditto that has 31 IVs in Speed until you get an Eevee with 31 IVs in Speed.

Next, breed an Eevee with 31 IVs in Speed with a Ditto that has 31 IVs in Special Attack until you get an Eevee that has 31 IVs in Speed and Special Attack.

Then, breed that Eevee (with 31 IVs in Speed and Special Attack) with a Ditto that has 31 IVs in Attack until you get an Eevee that has 31 IVs in Speed, Special Attack and Attack.

After that, you can breed that Eevee (with 31 IVs in Speed, Special Attack and Attack) with a Ditto that has the specific nature you want until you get an Eevee that perfect one you want to keep.

It sounds simple enough, but it really is a long breeding process and takes many hatched eggs before the right one is bred out so that you can move onto the next step(s).

That does NOT sound fun. Dx

See, someone on another forum asked for me to breed a pokemon with perfect IV's in 3 stats, and considering how little experience I have with breeding IV's, I didn't know where to begin. And now that I know how to do it, I don't want to. Dx

Thanks for the info, though! I really appreciate it. :]

Well, it's because of all the work that goes into them that Pokemon done this way are worth quite a bit. It really doesn't sound fun to do, but the rewards are amazing. I know my Vaporeon was obtained through this method and is downright feared as a mixed wall. pirate

Well I might have done it if the offer was really good, but I don't think it was worth the trouble.

I meant more or less as a reward of using such a high caliber Pokemon. I generally don't trade away such magnificent beast unless I have an extra for some reason, and even then, it would of been a reject from the one I actually kept.

Either way, I barely just received the news that I have been promoted to Vice Captain of the guild. Huzzah!

To celebrate, Free Trapinch for all who want them.

Ah. I see.
Well, either way, until I decide if I want to challenge the Wi-Fi gyms here, I am not going to be doing that just for an EV'd legendary that I can train myself. Dx

Good job! Go you! You totally deserve it. :]

And, can I have a free Trapinch? :D

Of course. Does the nature matter? I caught them all in the wild from Emerald so their IVs are going to be every which way.

Nahh, nature doesn't matter, as long as it's male. :]

You caught them in the sandstorm place, right? It took me FOREVER to get the right nature for my Trapinch. But, it was worth it. I love Flygon. :]

Yeah, I wasted tons of pokeballs and ended up not even using a Flygon in the end. xd

Ouch. XD

I used mine, but the last guy's Salamence [at least, I think it was] KO'd it. I had to use my bro's Rayquaza to beat him. Dx

I'm thinking I might restart my Emerald and beat the game so I can get a shiny Rayquaza myself. If I do, i'll try to get a Thunder Punch Typhlosion for you. :]

'Course, it might take a while. I fail at the Battle Park. Dx

Yeah, I'm working on it as well, though right now I'm stuck training in the desert until my team is strong enough to take on the Petalburg City Gym. pirate

Well, so far the plan is to get at least three level 30 pokes before I storm the gym. As I've never played any of the gen 3 games before, I'm hoping that'll be enough. pirate

Uhh, his Slaking is lv 31. I'd recommend you raise a fighting-type to at least lv 35 to have a good chance of winning against it.

Or have a good strategy. Counter works wonders if you have a pokemon with good defense.

Well I don't have any fighting-types on this team, so this will be an interesting battle.
