Lanius looked down at the girl, eyes covered by his black hair, a slight grin on his face. Tilting his head twords Edward, his hair moving to reveal one of his eyes, which looked at Edward with a calm and deep glance. Kneeling down next to alice, he put his arms around her and rested his head gently on her shoulder. A slight grin appearing on his face, "'Her'? How specific..." His eyes turned twords Alice, and he placed a kiss on her cheek, moving one of his hands through her hair, to the side of her face. "You mean this one?"

"Nah, I mean your giddy freaking aunt." Edward stepped out, from around the corner. "It's me you want, not her, let her go."

Lanius kissed her cheek again, then glanced over at Edward, now moving his fingers through Alice's hair, which felt very soft against his finger tips. "Dear Edward, of how many of my followers have you come across in here? And as for your side, are there two, or more like three of you here?" Lanius spoke with confidence, as if he had not even heard Edward's demand.
Banshee ran down the stairs and frantically through the halls, killing as she went, to try to wipe all his followers that were there out.

Mim waited, hidden from sight. Edward could reveal himself, but she'd wait for her chance. She hadn't faced Lanius, but she knew not to underestimate anything.

Alice whimpered and closed her eyes. "Must everything always be settled with violence?" She whispered.

Edward walked forward swords drawn. "Well there wouldn't have to be any violence, but some people just crave it. Otherwise we wouldn't be here in this position." Edward locked eyes with Lanius. "Let her go Lanius, and let us settle this, just you and I."

Lanius quickly whispered in a voice so low she could hardly hear, "Would peace not loose it's beauty if not for chaos?". Slowly unwrapping his arms from around her, he looked at Edward with blank eyes. "Edward, you have always had a tendency to show your enemies your weak spots, and exactly what makes you tick.... have you not?" His grin was non-existant, yet his voice had a subtle tone of mockery, as if calling Edward pitiful.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." Edward pointed his sword at Lanius' heart. "If you think I am afraid that you are going to kill Alice, I'm not. You only took her to draw me here, so here I am. Let her leave here, and deal with me."

Alice smiled faintly. "Of course, Lanius." She said. "You cannot have chaos without peace. And without peace, there is no chaos." She frowned. 'She didn't want to Lanius or Edward to die, but she knew she didn't have a choice.

Lanius stood upright, posture perfect and hands at his sides. Placing the tip of his index finger on Edward's sword, he looked at his own reflection in it for a moment, then looked back to Edward, placing the hand that held the gun behind his back. "Might I ask how you can so confidently declare such a thing? Judgment leads to self destruction, dear Edward." Again, with the tone like that of one downtalking another.

Edward came to a realization, after hearing Alice talk to Lanius. "Alice, tell me, why haven't you tried to escape on your own?" He raised his other sword just a bit. "The way to talk to him, is almost as though you are his friend."

Lanius put the gun to her head and shot, no emotion in his face, and eyes not breaking away from Edward. "These little bullets are filled with acidious poisons, she has tried, and I personally have seen to the torture as well as getting her to scream to lead you here."

Edward not letting fear or anger get the better of him, calmly but swiftly swung at Lanius' waist with his left blade, while bringing his right back to a defensive stance.

Alice's body crumpled to the floor. Blood pooled beneath her body. Though she would regenerate, it was acid and aimed at her head. It would take some time to heal.

Mimicry growled and turned the corner, aiming at Lanius and fired.

Lanius moved his gun from Alice's head to his waist, blocking the sword. Taking a step back, he pulled out his other gun very calmly. "It took you a day or so to get here, have your tracking skills and preperation abilities gone downhill so fast, and when your lover is at risk?"
Edit after reading Mimicry's post: he was hit in the left shoulder by her bullet
