I've got to say, out of all of them I liked book 5 the least and book 4 the most xd What did you like about 5? I stopped liking Harry so much because I feel like he never stops yelling in it sweatdrop

I stopped liking Harry so much because I feel like he never stops yelling in it sweatdrop well, if Voldemort was out to kill me I'd be pretty upset too. And he's a teenager who has gone through more then the people at Hogwarts. It could get a bit annoying sometims, but I understood why. What I liked?? hmmm....I guess it was the storyline in general. What was the thing Voldemort was after? And they took that dark arts class in secret. Plus it seemed more dark then the rest of the series. And it's the only book I managed to finish in 1,5 weeks (judging by it's size it says a lot, I mostly take at least a few months with a book half it's size) O__o;; The only thing I didn't like is what happened to Sirius (he's my fav character!) and they didn't bother to explain it. Okay, that happened, but what was that veil about. They came to that conclusion and then there was nothing. (Sorry trying hard not to spoil it for other people) My second favorite is part 3, where he meets his stepdad. And finds out who betrayes his parents. One was my least favorite, although I found it very funny (the first time I read it I laughed a lot) . Doesn't mean I don't like it though. Either way, can't wait for part 6. xp As for the Vampire Chronociles....with Memnoch.....it's not so good as the rest of the series. I'm not saying it sucks (I'm just taking so long to read it because I barely have time to read lately), but it's a bit...I don't know...don't know what to think of it. My favorite books of the series would be the first three. In my oppinion they were the most important and the best. I didn't really like Tale of the Body thief either, the pase was too slow, especially in the beginning. I'm only continueing reading because I want to read The Vampire Armand. He's one of my favorite characters, so I'm curious what happened in his past.

Though I must agree...Lestat was the best.

I can't wait for the next Harry Potter!! Though when I do get it I'll probably read it in like a week then I'll get sad that it's over... sweatdrop Well that's what I did with the fifth one... I like read it constantly until it was done, with a couple hours of sleep thrown in there... It took me 4 days xp I just wonder what it's going to be about. The fourth book was my favorite... but I don't really know why. Oh well I'm just waiting for the movies to come out too!! 3nodding

I guess I am the odd man out... I have never read any of the Harry Potter books all the way through (though my sister owns all of them and has the new one on reserve!)... I started the first one and I could not get very far it lost my interest very quickly (I think I got to the chapter about unicorns)...
But resently I started to re-read a book I had read in sixth grade called "The Giver" I absolutely adored this story when I was a kid and now that I am reading it again some of the parts I didn't understand then make a lot more since!!!

i haven't read any HP books yet, only seen the first film too, i'm a little behind neutral my Mum will lend me them all when i get around to reminding her though. i highly recommend re-reading books you enjoyed when you were younger, it's very true that they make more sense to you now! Also childrens books can be great for the feel good factor, as they rarely have anything nasty going on in them, you can get through one in a few hours on a quiet afternoon and it's a very enjoyable experience. I still have a shelf full of of books that were bought from me from the age of about 8 onwards and i still dust one of occasionally for a nostalgic wallow. Some of mine include..
The Cronicles of Narnia What Katy Did and What Katy did at School the Wizard of Oz Benji Annie Swallows and Amazons The Rescuers
many of these are old and battered but i think that adds to the reading experience biggrin

Gemelli: The Vampire Armand book is one of my absolute favorites. 3nodding (He's ony of my favorites too). Pandora is good, as well as Blood and Gold. ^.^ Memnoch was interesting. . . thought didn't focus too much on the vampire aspect of things.
I just finished reading "The Paths of Darkness" collection by R. A. Salvatore. Very good read, that. Drizzt Do'Urden rocks. ^.^ I find I prefer "Legacy of the Drow" more though.
I have never read a Harry Potter book, and have only seen bits of the movies. I never got the whole craze I guess. I'm more towards Lord of the Rings and such.
I guess the next thing for me is the Vampire Hunter D novel I found (finally printed in English!) and "The Beldgariad" by David Eddings that a friend leant to me. After that I need to hit the bookstore again. sweatdrop

jzznjasmine Gemstone I have an entire box filled to the brim with neatly packed Sweet Valley Twins books. xd Wow!!! Not to be rude but you have a different hair style every other day! How can you afford that? Well to get the free ones all you have to do is delete your avitar and re-create it xd I've been unsettled alot of my time on Gaia, before the Salon opened I changed my hair alot, after it did though I had the Silk haistyle for nearly a year, until they brought out the poses, and with that hairstyle I can't bring my arm forward or there's a patch of hair missing, it made me sad and convinced me to change again, I stuck with the Wildflower look for a little bit, then the Pigtails, and that new one was nice enough but like the Wildflower far, far to commonplace, even among the men! So I'm in limbo again, I hope to find one that will match all my outfits, and look pretty enough at the same time ^.^

i love christopher pike, stephen king, anthony burgess, robert cormier...
he wrote (cormier) a book called i am the cheese. i highly recommend it, it's awesome. i read his stuff because i'd read chocolate wars after my sisters read it in school, then in high shcool i read it again and read the sequel. i loved them both so much i read fade and i am the cheese.
i also love kurt vonnegut, though i've only read one or two. cat's cradle is awesome.
then of course there's dead babies by martin amis, which they made a movie of a few years back.
memoirs of a geisha is great, i can't wait for that movie. and butterflies of the night, a documentary of sorts of the water trade in japan. it covers geisha, hostesses, prostitutes, no-panty cafes, and the yakuza role in gai-jin finding work. it was written by an american who worked as a hostess for years. the full title is (Maiko no Kamigata) Butterflies of the Night: Mama-Sans, Geisha, Strippers, and the Japanese Men They Serve by Lisa Louis.
i'm gonna stop now. i can get really carried away with this topic.
