Maggs and Oreo followed the girl through the crowd, only now realizing that they never got her name. Actually they'd never even exchanged names. Odd. They had gotten in easily enough without the bouncers paying them much mind. It was easy to tell the club was a popular place with the amount of partygoers on each floor. Once they reached the third floor their guide seemed to evaporate into the crowd. The two didn't mind the smiles thrown their way but their minds were elsewhere. Especially now. Maggs scanned the area for any sign of their new "in". Oreo stood close to her, doing the same. "Could be we walked into a trap," she muttered to Maggs. "You're paranoid. Though possibly right.""What now?" The two slowly began to move through the crowd in a direction perpendicular to the direction they had last seen their guide heading. "Stay calm, move away from the last location we made contact in a different direction. Locate the high ground." And the two did just that, moving towards the highest part of the club they could find while attempting to keep themselves moving within the crowd. They kept they eyes out for the girl that had been leading them as well as for any potential threats. For the moment they didn't draw and weapons or make any threatening motions, opting to keep the crowd as a cover.
Try as they might, the girl appeared to have either left the building or was simply better at hiding than they were at seeking. The crowd on the third floor was much more relaxed than the other two, and so some actually turned concerned looks to the machinists as they passed, clearly with that look of searching for a lost party compadre. A hand reached out to Maggs.
"Are you alright?" tall, dark, crane-like beauty attached those alabaster hands. Her arms were like silk ribbons of moonlight, and seemed to defy the stark bolt of night that was her dress. There was a genuine concern in her eye, but only as much as she seemed able to spare as she held her soft hand a foot or so from her face. "You look lost..."
Elsewhere, the machinist known as Oreo would have about the same luck in finding their guide. It was then that she would meet the wide-eyed cadette from the DWMA. Wearing what could only be assumed as futuristic. She didn't stand out much from those downstairs, but up here she seemed almost an eyesore. "Hey hey hey!" waved the student with something like urgency in her face. She seemed to be in a rush, but stopped long enough to ask, have you seen a guy with dark hair, glasses, about so tall" --making a pause to measure the lad in the air with a flattened hand-- "Hispanic--
"HEY!" A bouncer, wide as he was tall and refusing the improvement to sight that removing his sunglasses in the club would bring him, darted after the poor girl at full steam, blasting a tunnel right through the crowds there as he chased her all the way downstairs.
Though it wasn't visible to the one outside the house, the reptile inside let his eyes roll and a long pause slide over the otherwise tame section of suburbia. In that time the Chameleon moved to the basement and prepared himself.
"... Stop barking, boy." The disembodied voice rung out and then there was silence.
Mephiles gestures towards the house causing his orb to shoot forward. As the orb reaches the threshold the mad man clenches his fist causing the orb to vanish for a moment before exsploding outward. As it warps and bends the space it acts as a centre of gravity, drawing in everything in its surroundings. It would grow in mass at an accelerated rate while the house was torn apart. Mephiles readies himself for Arhats next move.

Maggs turned to the girl who had reached out to her. "Looking for a friend," she told the girl in a polite yet casual tone. "About yay high, blonde hair and really bright blue eyes. Big blue butterfly pin in her hair. Bouncy and kind of an airhead. We just lost her in this crowd." Meanwhile Oreo stared at the girl who began asking her about her own missing person. "No," she replied simply before the girl was quickly chased off. Oreo watched her disappear with a nonplussed expression. That was quite weird. As the girl was suddenly gone Oreo decided not to pursue her. It wasn't who they were looking for and Oreo had had more than enough airheads - acting or otherwise - for one day.
"Well, I hope you find them." The woman with bangles for wrists allowed her eyebrows to do a maneuver that was half salute, half dismissal. She shifted slightly, bending like kelp in a rising swell, before returning with a curled finger looping loosely onto her chin like the prehensile tail of some tree-hopping primate. "Her name wouldn't happen to be Erica, would it?"
A small piece of paper flashed itself in the steady neon of the upper floor before become dull and legible, held a foot or so from the machinist's face. "If you see her, could you call me? I see her every now and then, but we... lost touch." A small smile and a thank you if Maggs took the card--business, vague title, slick--and the elegant woman was a part of the scenery again.
Down below, something seemed to be up. Just as the DJ was hitting his peak of peaks, so to speak, a hush quite out of place slept the sparkling energy on the floor. A dark-haired male appeared to be holding up the afro'd spinner with a large knife at his throat.
"Boy, did you step in it..." muttered the DJ calmly as he moved his hand from the deck in front of him. The blade glinted the young man's fury before he spoke.
"I told you to shut up! You're going to tell me everything. Ever-y-thing-ah!" Several clicks and chucks signalled the arrival of reinforcements. The knife returned tensely to the man's hip.
"Mm... I don't think so. See, people around here are cool. Keep playing the music," he said as the began to tighten around the interrupter like a noose, "...and they're cool." Now with space between them was too great to bridge before the DJ touched the button to start the music up again. Quickly, his hands adjusted what needed his attention--spinning the player, twitching the levels, setting kill-switches--until a melodic, slower groove was bleeping and blooping through the club.
And at the first pause... "Kill these party crashers." That toothy grin hid the secret to his control; everyone in club seemed to spring to the pull of an invisible puppeteer, and closed in on anyone of them who was not one of them. The Machinists would be spared at their level, but those downstairs--the team from Shibusen--were swarmed by crazed nightcrawlers.
From the rubble there was nothing but silence for the longest moment. Rest assured that the destruction was swift and crushingly complete. It was equally vexing and unnerving to read no change in the latent energy around them; just as before, it was as if everything was normal.
At the end of this pause, the silence and apparent peace was shattered by raking claws and snarling, wild kicks at the young CEO who had shared his body with a surprisingly powerful opponent. Elsewhere, the rubble finally began to stir.
"DIE!!"

"Ugh. These illusions again. "
Mephiles gets his hand up to block the incoming assault. To thier credit the chameleons illusions had some punch but as long as the mad one kept cool he wouldn't be killed. Inside his subconscious he could feel the others beginning to stir. The Mad one flares up his wavelength causing the illusion to slowly destabilize before starting to fall apart entirely. Slowly Mephiles channels a large part of his his wavelength into small hypocenters around his enclosed fists. While he had no way of sensing his opponent he wouldn't care about destroying the area in order to flush the chameleon out.

"Err...yeah," Maggs replied. She had no idea of the girl's name. She did seem like an Erica. Maggs accepted the card when the woman handed it to her. "Sure thing!" She replied, giving her a brief salute. She looked down at the card out of curiosity, reading it before she heard a ruckus coming from below. Oreo did the same, walking to the edge of the floor to look down at the quickly-botched hostage taking attempt. Things took a turn for the odd when the DJ responded by putting the partygoers on the first floor into some kind of....thrall. They began to jerk and move like puppets as they attacked several people in their crowd along with the attacker himself. They had seen something like this before: Saint Clara's personal executioner had an ability similar to this, though it could only control one person at a time and the "wires" were visible. This had to be something pretty powerful. Strangely, no one on the higher floors were under the spell so the two Machinists were left unmolested. Perhaps these party goers paid extra to get the not-turned-into-mindless-thralls bottle service. Maggs glanced around to make sure this was still the case before giving Oreo and nod and continuing to look for their little lost lamb. Oreo stood still, keeping an eye on the mindless thralls below in case things somehow got out of hand, keeping a tight grip on the handle of her revolver though she did not draw it.

Back to back, the duo knew what they would have to do--and it was a tall order. Angela McCalister stretched open her palms. "Dominick!" And at her command the boy lept into the air and split into two sticks with handles at ninety degrees in a flash: tonfa; and they landed in his meister's hands just as she was swinging in a big X shape for two different clubbers.
The first two went down without much song, and there was a pause in everything but the music, which slammed and knocked and smoothed into the next bursting fit of motion from the possessed crowd. They threw themselves at the duo; both upped their agility and ferocity several fold in that instant, and still the dj spun on...
So it was... The chameleon, breaking free of the rubble, seeing that his illusion was holding the attention of the assailing magus, smirked and blessed his own genius before himself making a dash for the neighborhood, aiming to get lost in the sporadic web of manicured back yards while his adversary struggled on.
If his only opponent was Mephiles the chameleon might have made a clean escape. Fourtunatly, Egil was not alone. His android began tailing the chameleon's escape attempt while her master was busy dealing with the illusion. After receiving an alert from A.D.A , Mephiles covers his body in his wavelength and uses his drones to speed towards his prey. Having to chase Arhat down would only increase the mad ones annoyance.

Maggs and Oreo watched the ruckus downstairs. They didn't see the need to join in. For now they focused their efforts upstairs, looking for their wayward guide. Failing that they looked for any way to proceed to a higher floor or for a VIP area. Somewhere where they could find someone who could give them a personal connection to the gang they were hunting. If not they would proceed with their last clue; the building that had been revealed to them back in the impoverished section of the city. They moved separately through the crowd so as not to expose them both to an ambush at the same time. A well-learned lesson from their earlier days working as a team.
The fight raged on down below, and no one seemed to mind. Wasn't totally unheard of in the city, but on this scale? Well, in any event, it seemed to be the only thing really going on in the club. Search as they may, the upper levels would yield nothing but a few quizzical looks, as though they were the ones out of place. Other than that, it seemed like a regular night.
Outside, the air was thick with the coming of rain. Probably wouldn't be there til the morning. There was an overpass that connected the second floor of the club to a raised sidewalk on the street behind it. It made it easy to travel in and out of the shops on the second floor of the string of buildings that lined it like a thick fence. The gunshots that rang through that section of the city had long since died down, and there was a stillness in the night sky that could not be bought. It was rare for the city to be this quite, and even as they walked on toward the largest building in sight there was only a few cars drifting along, only sparse chatter bubbling up from the concrete around them.
The chameleon's illusion did what he could to hold the enemy there, but simply did not have the strength. The units of the dark one would find their target and the Chameleon, looking quite exasperated: "Wh-What are you doing here!?"

"OH were we not playing a game of hide and seek? Don't tell me you ment to ditch me......that wouldn't be very nice. N-No you must be leading me to someone of a higher position. Yes that must be it! Kekekeke. Man I almost lost it for a moment......glad we cleared this up. "
Mephiles stares the chameleon down, madness and chaos dancing in his soulless eyes. The C.A.T android was flanking the mad scientist, hand on the hilt of its sword. The chameleon would soon rellize that he wasnt going to be rid of the duo until they got what they wanted.

Realizing their search was getting nowhere, Maggs and Oreo decided to move on. They used the covered walkway to escape from the second floor of the building and out into the street without getting involved in the fight below. "Back to Plan A," Oreo mused as they began walking down the street again. Oreo folded her arms behind her head as she walked, a much more casual gait than she had earlier. "And since we're on Plan A technically we didn't make a mistake and are still on our first plan," Maggs replied cheerily. "Well aren't you little Miss Brightside," Oreo noted sarcastically. "What can I say? I'm an incurable optimist," Maggs told her. "Unlike you, a hopeless pessimist.""Shouldn't an optimist avoid words like hopeless?""Well you're just that bad.""Haha so funny." Maggs simply giggled and stuck out her tongue in response. The two of them continued on their trek towards the building they had discovered earlier might have the gang they were looking for. They noted their surroundings and the few amount of people, but not being familiar with the area they didn't realize it was unusual.
As the two made their way toward the central tower, a fog rolled in from the Eastern edge of town. Those who were still in the streets, not running but seeming to hurry, began to cough, cresting in a wheezing hack--
...What must've been a familiar-sounding whir of mechanised parts and the faint outline of a large, vaguely humanoid form, brushed through the fog as if to signal the gust that would drive it out. When all was clear again, those who were on the streets below and those who were still on the overpass were gone....
At the entrance of the skyscraper, there was a doorman who was about as wide as he was tall. He straddled the double doors with his bulk, his neat hat sitting snug over the more expressive part of his eyes. He regarded everything with complete equanimity in contempt, held fast to poise like the tension in a bow. For now we will call him Bowman. Bowman offered no greeting, looked nowhere but through the buildings to the blue horizon...
Cornered, the enemy lashed out with whatever strength he had left, but it appeared it was not to be. He grimaced, holding his side as he felt the wounds begin to catch up to him. If there wasn't fear in his eyes, there was defeat. "You won't get far... Even if you do know what I know..." The Chameleon spat up blood and chuckled without breath. "You should know, where I was weak, many more will be stronger. One hundred-eight arhats, each with their own specialty, will avenge me. Our boss.. Is... Unbeatable..." The light which gave life and lucidity to his eyes dwindled. The arhat was smiling smugly at the assailant. Because of the explosion, soon police sirens could be heard approaching the area. A dead man wouldn't answer for the damage dealt...
Mephiles starts to feel his influence being challenged. It was another of Egil's personalities trying to claim the spotlight. The Mad One chuckled as his time had been more than entertaining. Playing with Arhat had been the most fun he'd had in quite awhile so he wouldn't fight back like usual. He didn't need the C.A.T androids subsequent scan of the body to know the creature was almost dead. While the android finds an escape route he allows his body to undergo the change. The process wouldn't take long and the android was standing by just in case Arhat had another trick up his sleeve. The Evil Mastermind Zanza had appeared. He walks closer to Arhat without fear if the chameleon had the ability he'd be able to sense that while this was the same soul in front of him the composition and overall feel of said soul had changed considerably.
" Oh? How boring. I thought you would show me a more beautiful face than that. Though I'll admit that watching the Mad One play with you was quite entertaining for me and the others. So dedicated to your boss. So earnest in your fight to 'hide the truth of this place". I respect that. However, your not the only one with a powerful boss and I promise it won't matter how many of you there are. They'll all be dead in the gutter just like your about to be if they refuse to give me answers. Hell you should consider an honor to be purified by someone with such grace. You care about them don't you? Why not tell me what I want to know and spare them the same fate. "
