Shun couldn't help but scoff at that.
"My luck? This is hardly luck. If it is, I have pisspoor luck, and you should not want it," he stated as a matter of fact.

That made Chel lean up on an arm. "You got a motorcycle, yer gettin' a pet, you have that tiny tree-" Chel gestured to it. She was actually very enamored with it but had only said it now. "You have a boss-a** job huntin' down bad guys that pays well an' people look up t'you for it. And you got cool a** magic powers an' yer not afraid of nothin'."
She flopped back onto the ground. "You are livin' the dream, ********>

He slowly shook his head, though he just sort of gave her a look when she brought up his bonsai tree. She envied him for that? That was... odd. But it really did seem that grass was greener on the other side in the case of Chel.
"This is not the dream. It is far from it," he quietly said.
"And people do not look up to me. Not really. I am sure if you ask some people, they would say I am pretty s**t at my job."

"Well maybe s'not yer dream but it's hella closer to mine than where I'm at." It made sense to Chel, but probably not to others.
"Yer not s**t at yer job. You might be s**t at swimmin' an' bein' nice, but you ain't a bad cop."

She knew so little. Shun continued to massage his hands, taking his time, thinking.
"I almost lost my badge, prior to moving to Ashdown. I had to step down to save face, basically. And that is all I will say about being a good or bad cop."
He got on up, and started to head into the kitchen, glancing over at the time briefly.

"Well I ain't know nothin' 'bout you prior t'bein' here," she said with a shrug. She didn't move off the floor as she was still enjoying the music in her weird way.
"But you done some good stuff here. I don't think yer s**t before cancels all that good stuff out."

Shun only scoffed at that. Once at the kitchen, he just grabbed a glass to pour himself some water. He took a deep drink from it. What good stuff was there? Not much. Not much at all. The detective didn't even bother answering her there.

She took the time to listen to the music. Shun had heard her out at least; that was more than she could say for most of their conversations.

Shun finished drinking his water, then just rinsed the glass for the time being.
"I think it is time for you to go home."

"Alright, alright," she said, making a horrendous groaning noise as she had to stand up. "My friendship time is up, I get it." She scooted over to the ipod dock and began unhooking it.
Afterwords she sauntered towards the door and thought to say, "Cheer up, yeah? An' keep playin' yer guitar. I'll pay fer the soundproofin' myself f'it keeps you playin'." She looked to the beer on the table where she'd left it; good. He could have it if he needed it.
