His sides heaved and his wild eyes took a moment to calm. He panted and as he reassured himself once again that his body was back to normal, his wings tremored and fluttered despite himself. He breathed deeply. His vision was blurry and his chest hurt, it was hard to breathe. He was okay, consciously he knew that.
He even knew he was dreaming, but he couldn't shake the panic. He dug his claws into the earth beneath him, closing his eyes. "Five... Five things I feel..." he whispered.
He felt his heart pounding. He felt the earth beneath him... He felt the slide of his hair over his shoulders. He felt a breeze in his fur, and he felt the sun on his wings. "Four." Four things he saw. He opened his eyes and focused. A green gem with bright orange eyes and a smile. A knight, and a Bishop. A giant Chess board. "Three..." he sighed quietly. Three things he could hear... The leaves of the bushes around him rustling. The shuffle of his wings. The voice of the Gem. It was speaking to him? "Two." he counted down, feeling calmer and more in control. Two things he could smell. Grass... grass and petrichor. "One. One good thing... I'm still alive." he said simply.
He shook himself out. He was alive. He was safe, and he was himself. Normal as could be. "Five, four, three, two, one," he took a deep breath and turned his eyes to the chess board. He squared his shoulders, wracking his brain. A knight could only move in an L shape, and only a number of spaces. A Bishop could move diagonally, any direction, until it ran out of spaces.
The Bishop would get him Farther. Closer to the other end of the board. The Bishop.

Syntyche jumped at the new voice telling her it was her move. Move? For what...ah. Chess. It wasn't her favorite game...she didn't know all the mechanics very well but what she did know was that Knights didn't get to move as much as Bishops could....
She waffled for a moment longer before choosing the Bishop.

Feeling relieved of the itching and glad to notice the nubs and leaves gone, Annona glared at the set of eyes telling her to make a move. She glanced between the Bishop and the Knight, wondering which to chose before eventually choosing the latter. A. Do you choose the Knight?

Sadie fled the tea party after the unwanted effects from the cupcake. Oh this wasn't good at all. Father would be so mad if these things on her didn't go away! Thankfully after reaching a large chessboard, she notes the effects were more temporary than she thought they would be. "Phew," she breathes with a relieved sigh, before nearly jumping out of what little skin she has at the voice, peering up to see a creepy face. "My move?" she asks, before looking at the pieces in front of her. She didn't know the first thing about chess, but well, the knight was supposed to be a rescuing type of figure, right? She shrugged, choosing the knight.

Sagira blinked up at the creature and looked at the two pieces. She had never been fond of board games.... Finally, she wandered toward the strange-topped piece and pointed at it. This one.

Tambre was not pleased by even the mere thought that she was possibly mutated. It had taken her a little bit to finally convince herself the nubs weren't coming back before she moved forward. She frowned when she heard the voice booming overhead. Right.. chess. She glanced around and ushered toward the Knight. "Alright, let's do this."

A. Do you choose the Knight?
You successfully move the Knight to a square by the Rook and together they castle the opposing King. Checkmate!
You see an opening in the hedge around the chessboard and you make your escape. You burst through the hedge to find a strange looking creature and a cautious knight sizing each other up.
If this is Wonderland, this must the Jabberwocky!
The two opponents appear to be readying themselves to do battle, but the knight seems to be trying negotiations first. It appears that the knight had a prepared speech, but is forgetting the words. You hear..
"Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe."The knight pauses, obviously unsure of what to say next. A shiny at your feet catches your eye. A sword so bright it almost sings to you. You know right away it's the Vorpal sword. The only sword that can overcome the Jabberwocky. What do you do next? A. Do you offer the Vorpal sword to the knight? B. Do grab the sword and attack the Jabberwocky yourself?Post a paragraph from the Jabberwocky poem by Lewis Carroll with your response. Any paragraph is fine, but it must be a different paragraph from what has already been posted by someone else. Remember to roll a 100 sided dice with your reply.

Sadie felt accomplished managing to move the knight, and watching what happens after, spies her way out. She needs no encouragement to run that way, darting through the hedge. But she stops in her tracks when she comes upon the next scene, and brave as she thought she was, started to tremble. What a beast! She spied the shiny sword and as much as she wanted to help while the knight sized up his opponent, knew with her small frame she'd be no help. So instead, she grabbed up the Vorpal sword's hilt in her mouth and hurried over to him, offering him the sword. He was the expert in these things, not her! "One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back."

Oblivious as to how he actually "won" the board game ((he has no idea what chess is)), Raik pranced through the hole in the hedge. After some wandering, he came across the... Jabberwock? For some reason the word popped into his head. He noticed a sword.
"NEAT!" Raik cried and scooped the sword up. It's so shiny and pointy... grinning like a crazed marauder, he dove past the baffled knight and slashed (clumsily) at the monster. He preferred his claws, but the sword was just so pretty.....Raik chooses B. Do grab the sword and attack the Jabberwocky yourself?“Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!” ((Raik, you suicidal maniac! gonk What are you doing?!))

Annona tilted her head as she listens to the knight try to find his words, as strange and twisted as they are. The Jabberwock seemed not impressed and she couldn't say she blamed him. But the gleam of something caught her eye and as she glanced at the sword seemingly calling to her she reached out for it. Scooping it up she held the blade tight, pondering. Finally she decided the knight was better at this than she and handed it over. "He took his vorpal sword in hand; Long time the manxome foe he sought— So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought."A. Do you offer the Vorpal sword to the knight?

Tambre wasn't the type to let someone else do her fighting for her. So when she saw the sword she grabbed it, readying herself for whatever the beast could throw at her. If she had to, she'd rid this world of this thing herself..
“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy"

B. Do grab the sword and attack the Jabberwocky yourself? You silly Mortals! The Jobberwocky poem was not about you. You did not kill the Jabberwock. You find yourself running at the Jabberwock shaking nothing but an empty fist at it. Oh wait! It's not empty. Your fist is wrapped around a ball of fur. Well that's not going to help you defeat the Jabberwock. Might be a good time to change your plan and run the other way! Brown - Gray DarkMari2 - First Choice Koiasi - Remainder Post in the shop thread and quote me. Alas, your journey to Wonderland ends here.

A. Do you offer the Vorpal sword to the knight? Smart move! You hand the sword to the knight and he seems to remember the rest of what he needs to say.
"One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back."
Well done! You've successfully made your way to Wonderland!
I, the Cheshire Cat, bid you welcome! A guide is always recommended on your first visit to Wonderland.
As Sadie (Sinbari) has already acquired the Mad Hatter as her guide, Anonna (Fea Line), I will be your guide from here on. . Be warned though, if lose your way, you just might lose the last bit of sanity you have left…
