(That's perfectly fine with me. smile )

As he was beginning his article he looked over and quietly watched Ruby strum her guitar and jot down notes. She hid a lot well, but Josh had just grown up with her. He could notice or tell her little habits or mannerisms. Even though they had been apart for so long, it all just felt like yesterday. Only now she was knocked up with some loser's child. Her band mates didn't really pay attention to anything as they climbed aboard and got the van rolling. Their next stop, the next gig they were playing!!

---------------------------------
Three Days Later....
---------------------------------

During the first part of the trip Josh and Rose had been apart. Mainly because she was practicing with her band while he was off dealing with his boss and everything. He had started his paper and a blog he was currently writing. Soon it came time to experience one of her concerts.

Josh was allowed to sit on the side of the stages near the curtains. Sort of a side view experience. He would be out of the way, and they would be out of his way. He hadn't seen her during the time that they were getting dressed for their performance. Though he did talk to a few fans and got some opinions. As more people were filling in the seats, where they were playing, Josh was fidgeting a little.

It had been years since he heard her play. He remember when she first picked up a guitar and told him her dream. The next few years were filled with having to endure her terrible guitar playing as she practiced. Eventually she got better and used to then play in front of people. That led to her getting a role in the band she was in. Looking at all the instruments sitting there Josh couldn't help but take trips back to memory lane.

(be warned, gonna get heavily into my music knowledge right now lol)

Ruby never really had time to hang out with Josh or even talk to him. There was the occasional "hey, how are you?" but nothing more then that. It wasn't that she was avoiding him, she just was too busy preparing for her show.

The gig was a set of bands playing to help their music spread, no head liner. So there was some element of competition in it all but nothing nasty, or so it seemed.
Ruby was the only female lead that night, in fact the only woman even performing. Not that she cared, she was used to it by now. Most of the fans were sometimes screaming girls trying the latch onto the guys in her band, which only made her feel thank full that no one wanted to tear the clothes off her back in a fan rampage.

The band had to get changed and do personal things in the same dressing room. Each group got one. Ruby didn't really care if any of the guys saw her get changed, it's not like they hadn't seen anything before. They treated each other like best friends maybe even siblings, so no reason to hide away.

As they were getting ready, staff from the venue were setting up the equipment behind a velvet curtain. They were given specific instructions on what each musician wanted. A few of the guys did poke their heads out to move their own mic stands to their height and so on. But Ruby didn't come out to check anything.

The crowd were still pumped from the performance before them, so there was pressure to keep the people happy and entertained. Ruby was standing the opposite side of the stage from Josh, but it was hard to make her out with no lights on. From her silhouette it looked as though she was stretching her limbs and neck. It was her way of keeping calm and not letting the nerves get the better of her.

Everyone got into position as they were given their cue. Ruby took her position in the middle, of course. While the others were on each side and the drummer at the back. Ruby slung her electric guitar round her neck as the curtains pulled back, showing the crowd the next act.

Ruby's hair was all messy like she had just got out of bed, but it was the help of some dry wax that did that. Thick, black make-up caked round the eyes which made her iris colour stand out more. On her torso was a torn up looking shirt with some typical jeans and converses to finish the look off nicely.

(Hey that's fine. :3 be yourself, do what you find fun and what's comfortable to you. After all you put up with my oddness. xD lol )

When the curtains rose up and the lights came on the crowd began to scream! So much adrenalin was pumping it was even getting Josh excited! Scribbling here and there about how the band was playing while they started he looked up to Ruby and stared for a moment.

The sound of the crowd seemed to fade from his ears as he looked at her, from the side not her face. Hearing her golden voice start to sing Josh was sent back to a time when she had finally just got the hang of the guitar. She was pretending to perform to a crowd of cut outs they had stayed up one night making. As she sang his eyes misted. He was standing off to the side watching her sing her heart out playing for the first time.

That was when he had fallen in love with her, or well took notice of it. Inside he felt so rotten now. Josh should have stayed, Ruby was in such a mess now because of him. Even though he honestly wasn't the one to blame for her getting knocked up, if he were there she would have either been carrying his child and would have probably not had to deal with that man in the first place.

When the first song ended he was brought back into reality stopping to catch her eyes for a moment he must have looked goofy standing there staring at her like he was. Glancing away, a light blush on his face now, he returned to writing down notes. Maybe it was too late for them, maybe not? Josh had decided something last night as he watched everyone sleeping, he was going to make them famous. It was the least he could do for not being there for her all those years.

Then maybe he would feel better knowing that she was living in a comfortable mansion with her every hearts desire. You couldn't tell from seeing her in the crowds but she did look a little chunky from the side. For now she was able to hide it but not for long. What was she going to do when her belly was sticking out? Sooner or later people would know weather she wanted them to or not! Josh would have to think of something, to protect her.

He didn't want to see Ruby get hurt anymore, and he would make sure it stayed that way!

The shaken looking woman who sat in the corner of the van, worrying about their future was long gone now for those few hours. All of her stresses would wash away when she performed, not a care in the world.

Ruby jumped around the stage with her guitar in tow, it looked as though she was having a great time. Once in a while during a few solos she would jump on top of the bass drum which looked rather un-stable and dangerous but she had done it so many times that it was second nature to her.

(song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLG_xV8AI04)
"Tell me why we never cared to do this when we still had time. We'll never have to give up if we never try I know I'll only want it when it's gone Into the fire

Show me now. I wish that I could fake it but I don't know how I know we'll never make it but I can't stop now we're only just beginning and it's over

Too late. No time, it's over and now. Can't wait. Now. It's too late. No time, it's over and now. Can't wait and now.

We all fall down into the fire and my wishes have all come true. We all fall down I don't want it if I can't be with you.

Leave me here, I'll never see tomorrow 'til my eyes are clear. We never could run faster than the passing years, I know that I won't miss you 'til you're gone into the fire.

Cross my heart. We'll never have to let this end if we don't start. We'll never see the light 'til we step into the dark. We're only just beginning and it's over.

There's a lesson that we learn in the pages that we burn. It's written in the ashes of the fire below, all the world is spinning 'round as we crash into the ground. We'll never be together now"

Ruby sang out one of the band's new songs that they had never performed before. But the crowd loved the new material and soaked it up. She sang out the lyrics with passion as though it had a hidden meaning for herself. At the slow, harmony sections Ruby would have her eyes closed pouring her emotions into to every syllable. Where in contrast to that in the heavy, screaming sections she would head bang and jump around like a loon with an angered expression on her face.

Once the song was over Ruby ran off the stage for some reason. The other members played a song that had no lyrics, just an awesome tune to it. So it seemed planned. In the shadows of the other side of the stage, it looked as though Ruby was changing her clothes in a speedy fashion, getting ready for something.

(Wow that's a neat song. The woman's got a pretty voice. xD I'm not normally one to listen to heavy metal stuff but it was a pretty song. )

Josh was captivated. He had never thought she would have such a good voice, it had definitely matured. The lyrics in the song oddly touched him. He could feel the emotions pouring from her heart and soul as she sang. Once the song ended he noticed he hadn't written much and madly began to take notes.

He hadn't notice her run off to the opposite end of the stage while the band began to rock out. They were good, but Josh couldn't believe how different Ruby was when she performed. It was sort of like a Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde kind of motif.

Looking up to stare at her shadow on the opposite end of the stage he wondered what she was doing? As he looked at her silhouette quickly changing he wondered if their shot for a relationship was too late, like her song had stated? No, nothing was ever too late and Josh would prove that to her.

In the small time they had spent he had fallen in love with her all over again. He was willing to try it out with her, but the biggest hurtle wasn't her pregnancy, or the baby, it was her heart. Ruby had been broken and she needed someone strong to fix her heart. After tonight Josh wasn't going to give up, even if at the end of it all they just became really good friends.

(haha well they aren't really metal. They are Alt Rock and Dark wave. (: that's probably one of their heaviest songs lol.. most of them are all bubbly n cutey sounding.. the clue is their nicknames in the band xD the woman is called Chibi lol and I think one of the dudes is called rainbow lol also their logo is a bunny rabbit)

The lights suddenly went off, but Josh could of course see the guys drop or take their instruments off stage as they walked over to his side but the drummer stayed put. The crowd was a little confused, was the act over? This was the last band after-all. They started shouting for an encore, which was normal for any show and it looked as though they were going to get it as Ruby's silhouette moved to the centre of the stage with a stool.

Some soft, glowy, blue lights lit only her up to set the tone. She looked completely different for the last song, her hair was tamed down, less make-up round the eyes but now with some dark red lipstick on her lips. The torn up shirt and jeans had no become a torn looking dress. It made her look like a ghost bride, sitting on that stool but still pretty. In her lap sat her guitar covered in stickers, her lucky charm as she called it.
As people soaked in what they were seeing, the drummer tapped his sticks together to signal Ruby's cue.

(song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEClCAFjYHg )
"We are not your kind of people. You seem kind of phoney. Everything's a lie. We are not your kind of people. Something in your makeup. Don't see eye to eye.

We are not your kind of people. Don't want to be like you. Ever in our lives. We are not your kind of people. We fight when you start talking. There's nothing but white noise

Running around trying to fit in, Wanting to be loved. It doesn't take much for someone to shut you down. When you build a shell, build an army in your mind. You can't sit still and you don't like hanging round the crowd. They don't understand

You dropped by as I was sleeping. You came to see the whole commotion and when I woke I started laughing the jokes on me for not believing.

We are not your kind of people. Speak a different language. We see through your lies. We are not your kind of people. Won't be cast as demons, creatures you despise."

The crowd went quiet for the most of it, holding out their phones or lighters and waving them in the air to the mellow sounding song.

Josh yet again was captivated by her song. Ruby was quite the little siren and anyone could see that talent bubbling out of her. The crowd entranced by her melody he couldn't help but feel a bit sad this time. Did her outfits reflect parts of who she was? He would have to talk to her after the show. They needed to talk that was for sure.

Returning to his writing, he got the nagging feeling that someone was watching him. From the corner of his eyes he would watch her look towards him a little, but only for a brief moment. The crowd lost in the melodies to even pay attention anymore, it was a clear view that her band was very talented.

Was every performance going to be this way? He had heard that they were traveling around the USA a bit during his stay. What would the crowds think when she would start showing? Why did Josh have babies on the brain as well? It was all he was thinking about now, even in his report he had noticed he had made mention of her pregnancy and the sudden desire of marrying and having babies with her.

Embarrassed he quickly erased what he had written and began to focus on his job. Josh had never felt his way before, there were so many emotions flying around that he wondered just who was she really singing to? Once the song ended the crowd was silent, and so was the band. Looking up she was just staring at everyone while her band mates were sort of fidgeting a little waiting for a que or something.

Was Ruby alright?
PostPosted: Fri Jan 10, 2014 6:54 pm

As Ruby's song finished, she wondered why everyone was so quiet. Did no one like it? Was it horrible on the ears? She didn't realise that they were waiting for something her band always did once a gig was over.
There was something wrong with Ruby though and her band mates could see that. While sitting there her face turned a sickly pale colour and didn't feel very well. It was then in a split second she darted off the stage, to where it wasn't clear really to most people.

The drummer noticed something was up before it even happened so started doing his ritual of throwing out his used drumsticks to the crowd which pleased them, all fighting to get one. The rest of the band ran out to do what Ruby forgot to do. They came out with garden hoses to soak the whole crowd which they all loved, jumping and screaming around.

He immediately followed after her. It was clear she was having an issue with sickness. The sound of puking could be heard as he finally approached her immediately pulling back some of her hair and softly rubbing her back in circles.

Josh didn't say a word, but he knew he needed to help her. The way she was puking violently it seemed that she must have upset the life within her with all of that dancing around.

Josh was the only one that had gone to see if she was okay. It was mainly because she didn't like anyone making a fuss, which made her bark and snap back in defence. But she didn't do that with Josh, just let him stay there to comfort her.

While leaning over the toilet bowl, she began to sob in between throwing up. Ruby never let anyone see her cry, it was something she had always done, though she didn't mind Josh seeing. After her stomach was near enough emptied out, she took some tissue and wiped her lip and tongue. Which was silly to do because the paper broke into pieces on her tongue, but she didn't care.. the acid tasted horrible. "They hated it.. didn't they?" Ruby cried, flushing the toilet so she didn't have to stare at her puke anymore.

Josh wrapped his arms around her and slowly began to rock her back and forth. "Shh..relax." he cooed softly. "I could see it in their eyes, they loved your beautiful song. I don't think they were cheering because they were lost in the melody. You're such a beautiful siren now that even I was captivated." he comforted letting her cry.

"Is that why you threw up? Because you thought no one liked your song?" he asked concern in his voice.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 10, 2014 8:11 pm

"You liked it?" she smiled lightly, wiping away her tears with made her make-up smear all over her face in a black smudge. Ruby rested her head on his chest as they were both slumped on the floor of the bathroom. It made her feel alot better sitting there with him like that.

"I think it was everything that made me throw up...it didn't feel well through the whole show and I thought I could just ignore it and it would go anyway" she told him honestly before chuckling "but someone decided they don't like the rock lifestyle"

He nodded. "Of course I liked it. Your voice is beautiful and has matured a lot since those days of you singing in your parent's garage." he said wiping some of her hair from her face as their eyes met.

Chuckling he looked down to her stomach and softy placed his hand on it. Though she wasn't showing you could tell that was pregnant by feeling the paunch. Gently removing his hand he held her close.

"Ruby, the words you sang tonight, pierced my heart." he softly said as her band began to play another loud rocking solo in the background. Looking into her eyes with regret he sighed. "I'm sorry. Sorry that I had never told you my feelings before you left, sorry that you're now pregnant with some other man's baby, sorry that I've been a coward. I love you Ruby. Fate has brought us back together again."

Looking away he bit his lip. "Your music always reflected your soul when you sang back then, and it still does today. I have hurt you so much by not being there in your life. Can you ever forgive me? Not only that but, I want another chance. This time I promise to speak up and be there, even if I have to yell at my boss to get me to stay with you after my jobs up. Seeing you again, I just..don't think I can go on knowing the truth about us."

He softly pulled her chin to have them look up at each other, their lips close. "Your performance tonight has opened my eyes. There is so much pain in your heart. Pain that I want to help heal. Please give me a second chance, I swear to you that I won't leave you alone again. I failed to chase after you when I was younger, but now that I've found you I won't ever let go of you again! I also, want to father your baby! I don't care if I didn't help make your child. Of course if you still put it up for adoption I will still stand by your side."

"I hope I haven't said too much..." he said tears falling from his eyes. "You know how much I ramble on sometimes."
PostPosted: Fri Jan 10, 2014 8:53 pm

Her eyes filled to burst with tears till she finally blinked, letting them roll down her cheeks and leaving more trails of black down her face. She didn't know what to say as Josh 'rambled' as he put it or how to act towards it. There was just shock on her face that he was coming out with everything again. "Why are you doing this to me Josh?" Ruby asked, pulling out from their little cuddle. "I never said this was your fault, never."

It was then Josh pulled her chin so that their lips almost touched. She looked down at the lips of his in almost fighting to not kiss him. But Ruby couldn't hold it for long and kissed him deeply for a few moments. Maybe it was everything he was saying or just her hormones crying out to be loved, she didn't know.

"I can't do this" she managed to say after pulling out from the kiss without any warning. "We had our chance and we both didn't take it.." Ruby said in tears before standing up and bolting out of the bathroom.

Josh managed to grab a hold of her and stopped her before she could get away. "Ruby! What are you afraid of?" he asked staring at her. His mouth tasted the tang of what she had been throwing up after their kiss but he didn't care. "Yes we had our chance! We both were young and stupid! Ruby, I failed you yes but there is always room for a second chance. If you're afraid I'll break your heart then tell me!" he said to her with emotion pouring out of mouth.

"I did fail you, you never said anything or blamed me. I don't want to make you mad or upset, but I can't hold in the love I have for you Ruby! It tears me apart, it had been ever since we met again." Silent tears fell from his eyes as he stared at the back of her head for what seemed like hours.

In the silence he wept then let go of her wrist, now wasn't the time for this. Josh was just caught up in all the emotion.

"Go...your band needs you....your fans need you...I'm sorry for holding you up...all I want...is your happiness..." he said softly and kindly.
