(haha omg! Beauty and the Beast is my fave disney movie xD how strange!!! I liked it cause she was the only brunette princess.. and i was brunette too lol Also I was a strange kid and loved monsters.. so monster romance <3 YAY lol)
While she waited for Chase to get ready, she too put on a sun hat. It had a few coloured feathers coming off from it and fabric flowers. Very much the usual Victorian fashion accessory really. Looking at Chase in all his smart clothing made her smile sweetly. He looked so much better like that then the horrible clothes he wore while shovelling horse poop. Might no have been his time period, but he wasn't getting it so bad here. Could've been worse, stuck in prison or forced into the slums of poor life. As long as Jane kept him here, he had it good. "My my, don't you look dashing Mr. Frost" Jane told him. They always did the posh act while going out, just for fun really because it was so unusual for them to interact like that.
The journey was nice and smooth. Either the officials had the roads fixed up Chase was skilled at what he did. She figured the second one, the fat cats were too busy building grand halls to think about roads these days. Once they got there, Jane took his hand to help herself out. "Why thank you kind sir" the elegant young lady grinned, placing a coin in his hand as a tip, just to be cheeky. Walking towards the door she turned round to face Chase, "you don't have to follow me around you know. Might be boring in here, go and find some nice ladies for yourself" she winked.

(lol yeah I remember that movie. XD The Beasts nose always looked crooked to me when he became Human again. razz XD So I kind of would make fun of that. xP Still it was a good movie. Man most Disney movies in the 90's were good. Then again I just saw Wreck it Ralph a week ago, or well bought the movie, and I liked that one too. XD)
Chase loved to act all silly this way with her. Jane had the most beautiful smile and he loved how her eyes shined when she was truely happy. If only..he had been the one to wed her. Jane was a lovely woman inside and out. Maybe she had some ancestors? He would have to look up her name once he got back to his time period.
"Why thank you kindly My Lady!" he said closing his hand the coin was placed in and taking his hat off with a bow. Watching her leave he sighed, if only..they could be together..he hated seeing her treated the way she was. If only...no! Chase snapped out of his small romantic stupor. He shouldn't mess with time travel, or the time stream. If they had a child together or something, or even had gotten married, that would probably shift time a bit. Chase didn't need that.
Pocketing the coin he looked at the horses and gave them a sly look. "You didn't see anything? Don't tell her that I was looking at her butt alright?" he lightly teased patting the horses side as it let out a small "harumph!"
Chase laughed then pulled out some sugar cubes and fed it to the horse. He loved animals and would always take such good care of the horses. Maybe that's why they never fought with him when he was attaching them to the wagon.
Looking at the pocketwatch he was given he decided to get something for lunch. Climbing back up he moved the cart to a small market shop near the book store. That way he could keep an eye out for Jane when she was finished.

(urgh I hated him as a human.. just let him die! much more romantical.. I think he does die in the original story.. I forget.. omg yes! Wreck it! I love that... so much nerdy gaming stuff!!!! I think I squealed at the metal gear solid exclamation mark scene so many times! LOL)
There in the book store sat an old looking lady, skimming through a dictionary. Maybe it was to broaden her range of words, smart thinking if you wanted to be noticed. She didn't her the ringing of the bell as Jane entered either, mostly deaf in her old age too. But Jane needed her help with her task at hand. "Excuse me.." the sweet voice said, finally hitting the store owners ears. "I was wondering if I could buy every book on the subject of science and space. Fiction and non-fiction..." The old lady's jaw dropped, who would buy so many books at once? And a woman too! "Certainly my dear, but why all those on just one subject? Don't you want the new romance novel that's just come out? It's all the rage right now." "No thank you, my husband wanted to read into it more to decide on future investments for our money" That excuse always worked no matter what situation really. Say it's for the husband, no one asks questions or bats an eyelid. "What a good idea of his! I heard all that science mumbo-jumbo is really raking it in" the fragile woman told Jane as she motioned her little shop boy to collect each book requested. He must of been only six or seven atleast, but very polite. "Would you like me to carry these out for you miss?" the blonde haired boy asked sweetly. Jane looked down at his innocent face and shook her head, this time she would do it, for his sake. Paying for everything and giving a huge tip to the little boy, Jane walked out with massive boxes stacked ontop of eachother. She never had to carry her own purchases, so it was a little strange and wobbly!

(yes! lol XD I loved the whole story actually. It was funny seeing all the video game characters too. smile It's a very touching movie, heck I even cried the first time at the end, when Ralph was going to sacrifice his life for the little girl while quoting the bad guys anonymous saying. D: lol XD I was like "Whaaa!! why am I crying! This is so touching!!" lol )
Chase had returned and did his best to hold back a chuckle. Getting out of the cart he gently grabbed her arms before the woman could topple over. Standing there, their eyes met and he stared for a moment. "You need some help?" he asked still holding her arms gently.
"It looks like you bought the whole store My Lady." he commented with a chuckle casually taking the boxes from her and placing it in the cart. Looking back he stared into her eyes again. They were so pretty and he couldn't help but notice a sparkle of kindness in hers. Had she bought the books for Chase?
(if I could draw our characters in disney form I would. XD That would be interesting, a scene with them standing there, both of them holding the boxes, looking into each other's eyes softly. razz )

(haha! awww yeah I was a little choked at the end too! I think the film that's made the cry the most is the girl who leapt through time... oh man.. I just.. so many tears! And Leafie makes me cry too! Everyone dies!! All that poor chicken wanted to do was be a mum Q~Q lol Yeah.. I wish I could draw disney v.v... I've tried and failed lol)
Jane didn't even see Chase coming with the the packaged books blocking her view, but his touch and voice confirmed it was him there. "yes please" she smiled, even if he didn't see. "Very funny.. no I didn't buy the whole store. I just wanted to get as many as I could before Hubert comes back. Hide them somewhere safe" with her lie partly true, she didn't talk anymore on it.
"Anyway.. where did you get off to? Find any pretty ladies around?" she teased. "You look so handsome in your outfit that I'm surprised you're not fighting them off.

(Aww that does sound sad. sad )
Chase smiled at her comment. "No I just stopped into the nearby shop for a bite to eat." he replied. "Well my lovely Lady, shall we retire home? Or is there anywhere else you would desire from your handsome coachman!" he chuckled then caught her eyes again.
Dang she was so pretty, why was he falling for her? Chase softly took her hand and gave it a kiss before using his other to open the carriage door for her.

She would always blush everytime Chase would kiss at her hand. He did it soft and gentle, not forceful like the other men she knew of. Chase didn't have to go eat out, Jane would've asked the kitchen staff to make him something once they got home, he was higher up then most of then anyway.
"Actually, there is one last place I'd like you to take me" she told him once she got settled in the carriage. "I'd like you to take me to the post office please.. I realised I need to write some urgent letters right away"

"Very well, as you wish My Lady." he smiled helping her into the cart. "You heart the fine woman boys! Time to head to the post office!" he chuckled as he called to the horses who just ignored his cries and clopped along.
Chase waited outside for her, it was rude to spy on private matters. From the tone of her voice it sounded urgent! He was glad they got to the post office on time, in another hour or so it would have closed. Chase hoped this wouldn't take long.

Once they arrived at the post office, she rushed out the carriage, not even waiting for Chase to open the door and let her out this time. First of all, Jane went to the front desk to ask for addresses for anyone in the science profession and was given a list of seven people. She wasn't going to directly ask for help, more ask for theories and ideas for an 'imaginary book' she was going to write. Jane had become rather good at covering up her tracks for things such as this, though all wives of rich men did that to hide their personal lives from them.
Jane wrote out seven letters, all saying the same thing, about a fake book and that payment would be offered for assistance. Hopefully that would make them bite. Once that was all done and dusted, Jane walked out like nothing happened, smiling ear to ear once she saw Chase. All of this was for him, to get him home somehow.

Chase couldn't help but be curious at what she bought and noticed all the science books she had. Biting his lip, he easily put two and two together. Jane was doing this all for him? To help him get back home possibly. Hearing the post office door open he scrambled and quickly placed the book back into the box and stood up to greet her.
Jane was grinning, which stunned him a little. She was never this happy looking and now that he knew, he was touched all in the same. Oh how he wanted to hug her! Yet the society wouldn't allow it..unless they were alone somehow?
"Well then you look peachy! I guess everything went well inside?" he asked playing dumb, he figured this was some kind of surprise. Jane probably, out of possible pride, wanted to tell him he would act surprised when the time came.
"If My Lady wishes to go anywhere else please say so. If not then we shall be heading home." he said taking her hand and giving it a kiss like always before opening the door to the carriage.

"It went rather well thank you, all the things I needed to do are all done so I can just relax for the time being and not have to worry about it." She told him, stepping back into the carriage and checking in on all her books. There was so many to read! But she had plenty of time, having no social life anymore and husband disappearing everyday.
"I think I'd like to go home now. Also, can you help me hide all these before Hubert gets back? Two sets of brains are better then one, it will get done much quicker" Jane asked him sweetly, he didn't have to help her really. Just an open invitation incase he wanted to.

"No problem, we'll just put them in my room. If he asks I'll just say I'm studying whatever books you bought. I don't think there would be any problems." he replies helping her into the carriage.
The ride home was fine, and with his help they placed the books in his room. Hubert never really entered so they would be safe. Chase changed back into some dapper work clothes and went about doing a few chores. Just in time for Hubert to get home.
The man was in a happy mood and began to poke and prod at his wife. Teasing her, it was obvious the older man wanted to make love to her. Chase sadly did his best to ignore it and served them their daily tea. Hubert just dismissed him though and gave Chase some money. Telling him to leave the estate for a few hours.
He probably wanted to be alone, and it wasn't just him but all of the staff. With a reluctant glance he leaves with the other workers. The maids actually had a surprise for Chase and set him up on a date with one of them. She was kind of loud and puggish, still he didn't mind and decided to date for the heck of it.
It was all just for fun anyway, no one really took anything seriously since it was forbidden for the maids to have any children or anything. Well in Hubert's home that was a rule, that didn't mean they still couldn't date. Chase was having fun until about the time she pulled him into a pub and began to drink.
He wondered if Jane was alright as he ignored the drunken seduction the maid was trying to pull over him. He swore not to love any woman, in fear of breaking the time stream. He watched as she got tired of him and went to sleep with another man. Chase chuckled as he watched the couple vanish upstairs.
(I figure that Hubert is mean to her like beats her and such maybe he finds the book Chase saved before they try to make love, burning it then beating her as punishment. I figure Chase could return to see her sitting there crying on his bed because his room was the closest she could hide in. Maybe he comforts her and they somehow end up making love or something. Then we can skip ahead to where she discovers she's pregnant?)

(That's a good idea! I'm game for that.. I was hoping to have Hubert being the beating sort really lol.. cause that's kind of normal for men back then lol you were allowed to beat your woman because you owned them)
"That would be great, thank you." Jane smiled, looking through all the titles of each book she bought, getting excited to read them all and absorb their knowledge. Some she had already read but of course they had all been burned sadly.
While kindly hid the books for her, she waited in the living room, playing the piano because Hubert didn't like to enter a home seeing a wife doing nothing with her time. While she tried to play, he kept kissing and her neck and trying to take her hands away from the keys. Jane didn't want to sleep with him today, not ever infact. But it was her duty as woman and wife, leaving her no choice on the matter. All the staff had to leave too? She had a bad feeling about all this, did he want to do it in every room or something?
Jane looked to Chase, sad to see him having to leave too. It always comforted her knowing he was in the same building as Hubert but this was different now. "So, now that we are alone my dear husband. What is it that you wanted?" Jane had to play dumb like normal, be polite about it all.

((Oh and to you and anyone who reads this rp. I detest and am against what I'm about to do. ^^; Just so you all know. DX))
Hubert pretended want her in front of the staff. Her damn father was pestering him about having a heir with her. Like he really cared about Jane to have a child with her. Money was the only thing he wanted and needed. The portly man acted all romantic to her while the staff was around yet in the silence he stopped and grew cold.
He had found a book in her possesion! One of the books he had thought he burned! Oh this crafty woman, he would have to show Jane, her place. Pulling it out he slapped her hard across the face with his hand.
"Where did you get this!? A woman like you has no place in MY house for learning things!!" he shouted grabbing her by the arm and pulling her off of the piano bench so she could stare into his cold, unloving eyes.
"No I don't need to know! You are..the most annoying woman I've had to deal with! If it wasn't for the fact that you are lovely to look at and touch I would have you tossed onto the streets!" he stated with anger, slapping her face again.
Opening the book he ripped out the first page, the part where it had been signed to her, and chucked it into the burning hearth. "A lady must learn her place! You might have been able to fritter away your time with your magical fantasies when you were with your father, but now that you belong to me you aren't allowed to fill your pretty little mind with knowledge! What good is it to you! Dreams..are for fools and my wife will be no fool!" he said loudly ripping the whole first chapter out and tossing it into the hearth.
Hubert continued to rip out each chapter, taunting her with the pages before throwing them into the fire. Once all the chapters were burned he threw the empty book covering at her and pointed up the stairs. "Leave my sight you wretch!" he demanded anger in his eyes. Hubert didn't care, he was about to spend the rest of the night counting all the lovely money he had privately.

(oh I know you're not like this (: it's fine.. a lot of men were like that back in that era... so you're just playing out the role perfectly ^.^)
As soon as her husband's fake, loving look dropped, she knew she was in big trouble. What was this? The book! How could she have forgotten to hide that one?! Trying not to land Chase into any trouble, Jane instantly took the blame. But before any words of an apology could pass her lips a slap across the face stopped her in her place."You... forgot to burn it.. so I thought it would've been okay to keep it" Jane said with her mouth going dry from swallowing hard so many times.
It burned, the skin red raw from being hit. Having never been struck by a man in such a way, Jane trembled in fear before him. Though hope didn't make any difference, slapped once again. He hit Jane so hard that she fell to the floor in heap. Tears instantly flooded from her eyes and onto the handwoven green carpet that covered the entire greeting room.
Nothing could be done now. Hubert made his point quite clear now more then ever. She didn't even bother to pick herself up, just watching her most prized books burn away to nothing to fuel the fire. Jane at that point wanted to disappear, hide away from the world and never look upon it again. Nothing good came from a woman in this life so what was the point?
Only till her husband dismiss her did she finally get up. With red puffy eyes from all the crying and cheeks of the same shade, Jane made her way to her bedroom as instructed. What could she do? Nothing.. that's what..
