Max turned his attention to the bartender, who seemed to be poking around his tome. Quickly tucking it away in the small traveling pack he carried, he chuckled.
"Indeed, yet I don't see why no books should be found in bars. These are places to find information after all. Sorry about that, I'm hardly the book worm but I do like to glance at my studies a bit from time to time. Keeps my mind fresh." he commented to the man with slight sarcasm, but genuine kindness.
Pulling out his coin pouch he didn't have much left. "I'm afraid my funds aren't that great, but I do have coin. It sort of took most of my funds to get to this town, but I would like a bowl of soup if it doesn't cost too much...and some spring water. I know, water is a silly thing to ask for in a bar, but I can't drink on an empty stomach. Still, if the soup is too much then I'll pay you back by washing dishes or mopping up during closing time. I wouldn't want to damper your business any." he stated kindly, yet sounding a bit disheartened.
Usually he was able to find some work to keep his coins up, but lately most places were dry. Hopefully this town would provide different. Scrillo turned to face Morgan her dragon eyes gleaming with gentle kindness.
"Do not worry about me mortal, I do not feed. I have no stomach after all." she mused casually. Her eyes glancing around the bar out of curiosity mostly.

Morgan laughs. "Its not that books don't want to be found in bars, the fact of the matter is they just don't last long..."
Waving away the man's next to empty coin purse, Morgan made his counter-offer. "Tell you what... sell me one of them magic do-dads you was reading about and I'll give you a full meal as well as a room for the night."
Having seen far stranger things in his nineteen years of owning and operating the Broken Ax, Morgan wasn't surprised to discover the man's weird looking scarf to be sentient.
Interesting, this Human was very kind. Smiling warmly Max gave a nod. "Sure I'll carve a rune for you. Though that will depend on the kind of charm you like. I can carve anything, but I'll need something to place the rune on." he stated wondering if he was confusing the man.
Pulling out the tome he began to flip through it. The best way to get someone to understand was threw examples. Opening to a page containing a symbol that looked to be a pair of wings elegantly entangled in strong roots. "Each rune I carve has magical effects. Like this one for example, this rune allows flight. Carved onto a feather and worn anyone, no matter how much they weigh, can fly and become light as well..heh...a feather. You want a rune to make yourself stronger...."
As Max explained he flipped a couple pages and pointed to a rune in the shape of a bull's head. "....carve this into a ring and you'll have immense strength. I'm sure a lot of your mugs get broken here...I do have a fortify rune that can---" a loud laugh echoed about the room as one of the drunk patrons was listening.
"Are you daft! -hic- Ain't no way a ring will make ya strong!" a largely muscular man mocked, apparently he had too many. Must have been one of the locals that came to drink often. "'Course judgin' by those noodly arms of yours I doubt any magical doo-dad would help give you any muscle. Ya ain't nothin' but a con man! I wouldn't listen to this fop here who makes magical doodles. Hahahahahahahahaha!!!"
Slam!
In slight anger he closed the tome, then gave the bartender a nod. Pulling out a ring of his own, with the bull head symbol, he sighed. Max hated using this but Rune Carving was kind of a sacred thing for his race. A small crowd of people watched as he calmly stood up and walked over to the drunken man's table.
Putting the ring on his finger, it sparkled softly in the dim light. With a wry smirk, he slammed his hands on the table, causing it to flip up and smack the drunkard in the face, causing him to tip over and fall to the ground. Cursing the man got to his feet, obviously too drunk to focus. People around them laughed as the man's face grew red with anger.
"Ya wanna fight you wimpy fop! -hic- I still say your magic doodles ain't real! A-Any man can flip a table! Now ya made me mad, so get ready ta feel my fist!!!" he roared suddenly lunging a drunken punch at Max, who easily dodged.
Whirling his fist back he swung, and like slow motion the man was shot across the room, making a hole in the wall, as he easily crashed through it and lay on the streets unconscious. Cracking his knuckles the room was silent as the patrons stared at him. "As you can see, impressive strength, thanks to the rune carved in this ring." he stated calmly with a turn, a gentle expression on his face. Like the man's words hadn't phased him one bit.
"Sorry for the hole, when I get a bit more coins I'll pay to have it fixed. Now then, is there a rune you'd like me to carve for you sir?" he stated kindly smiling.
Scrillo just grinned at the drunken fool. Mortals who swam that much in alcohol should be punched through a wall. Some of the patrons were backing away from Max wondering just who this odd stranger was.

(Yeah, sorry. I just get so into RPing, I can't resist wink It's a compliment, really.) Elza smiled, listening to Tilly's explanation. "Wow, that's amazing. I've never seen anyone who could accomplish that. Perhaps someday I can."
Before she could say much more, she heard a ruckus start up over by the bar. It seemed one of the more drunk and rowdy patrons was picking a fight with another fellow. Though it started off rather mild, it quickly escalated. Elza wasn't exactly a coward, but with her past history, she also wasn't a fan of violence.
When the smaller man punched the table, she let out a small squeal of fear, her eyes widening. When he punched the man through the wall, she let out a shriek, shoving herself as far back as possible, starting to pant a little, her eyes wide as saucers. Over reaction, almost certainly. But she couldn't help it.
"well I'm sure Mori would be happy to show you!" Tilly said, looking to Mori. Mori blushed some and looked down a bit.
"M-maybe later, it's too crowded in here." Mori said. As she heard a commotion from over by the bar Mori would look back up. It looked like two of the other patrons were about to get into a fight. Though the fight its self was short lived it was at least a bit impressive given some one was sent through the wall. Mori flinched as Elza shrieked and tried to move as far from the fight as she physically could. Mori quickly went to make sure Elza was alright, bringing Tilly with her. "E-Elza are you ok?" Mori asked, putting her hands on Elza's shoulder. Tilly climbed back up her belly and rubbed it as she tried to help calm her down.

She had heard that the weaving of the fates were nothing to fool with.Gwenhwyfar somehow felt like Ravia was telling the truth in the matter. "So for me to stay in Springfog... its being said that I should?" Gwen thought aloud before she looked up to the half angel. She almost wondered though would this sign be eventually leading to her parents?
Gwen's blue eyes narrowed. "You don't know what being an apprentence to a human for fifty years, He was nice but he insisted by going by the book every time." Gwen noticed a fly hovering near the turkey leg for Ravia's familliar. Willing up her given powers, Gwen transfigured the fly into a whole cooked turkey. "Instead of the leg how about the whole thing?"
(Goddamn it Gaia! I had an awesome post all written out and it logged me out when I tried to post it and lost everything... scream )
"Most people aim for the window..." Morgan comments as he surveyed the damage.
Breaking the silence Runk applauded his approval of the new door but stopped after noticing some of the looks he was getting.
"Although I suppose a new window there wouldn't hurt anybody..." Morgan adds. Waving off Gromit as the warforged moved towards Max to escort him out, Morgan continues. "You mentioned something about a rune that could fortify stuff?

Elza panted a bit, trying to get her nerves under control. It was rather embarrassing to flip out like that, but it wasn't like she did it on purpose. Finally calming a bit, she looked at Mori and Tilly. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm ok. I'm sorry. I know it may sound crazy, but....I'm not a huge fan of violence. Usually, I can control my reaction, but those two sort of took me by surprise." She sucked in a breath as she felt a flurry of sharp activity from her babies and brought her hand up to rub her belly. "I'm sorry, little ones. It's alright. Just relax."
"Th-that's good." Mori said with a smile. She tilted her head some at Elza's mention of her not liking violence. This was a bit of a surprise for her. Her knowlege of amazons was that while they were not a particularly violent race but they were a warrior race.
"we can leave if you'd rather not stay." Tilly said, her small soft body bounced by the occasional kick. Mori's free hand moved to rub Elzas belly as well. "wow they're getting pretty worked up in there." Tilly said, rubbing Elzas belly as well.

(Sorry for the delays in posting everybody, I've been waiting for other people to post and catch up.)
Taking a few more deep breaths, Elza was able to calm herself, bringing one hand to rub the underside of her belly, so that between her, Tilly and Mori, she was almost completely covered. "No, I'm fine. I was more....startled than anything. I...It's sort of a long story." She looked away for a moment, then turned back to the girls. "And besides, I really haven't gotten to eat yet. Let's all sit down, shall we? Now that the little ones are starting to settle, I should be able to eat."

Thai was up on the stage, performing with the band of musicians. His fingers deftly plucked the strings of his lute, creating a lively tune that that drums and other instruments happily marched to. It was an easy to way to make some money, which he could later use to buy food. Something the half monkey always liked.
While he played, he watched the jostling crowd, taking note of several interesting and colourful looking people, as well as the fact there were some pregnant women in the mix. Something else had caught his eye too; an exchange between the barkeep and his warforged door guard. A perfectly round glass ball had been given to the bouncer's safekeeping and Thai couldn't help but want a closer look.
As soon as the next song ended, he excused himself and slipped into the crowd of noisy and chattering people. He fought his way through a circle of onlookers around a wrestling match and past serving girls and patrons, till he made it over to one of the support beams that held up the roof of the building.
Then, without a care in the world, Thai climbed up the beam to the rafters above. He let out a soft sigh once he could breathe, happy to be free from the tangle of noise, smells and bodies below. Plus, this height offered a much better vantage point!
Crawling along the rafters until he was in a position just above the warforged doorman, he wrapped his tail around a strong wooden beam before swinging upside down, dangling to get an eyeful of the crystal ball held safely in the bouncer's hand. "Hello. That's a pretty bauble you got there. Don't mind me, I just wanted a closer look" he chattered, not really caring a jot who was watching. "Can I touch it? Who's it belong to?" Thai's grin was teasing. He spoke half out of genuine curiosity and half out of wanting to push a few buttons and see what happened. What could he say, he was bored.
"W-well, if you're sure." Mori said. She helped Elza stand up, Tilly going limp since Mori needed both of her hands to do this. Mori looked over at their table and saw Elza's bowl of soup. "O-oh my you're right, I-I'm sorry I didn't notice I-I thought you had h-had some." She said. After helping her back to the table she sat down on her side and Tilly jumped back to life. Tilly gave Elza's belly one last pat.
"Now you be good for mama." She said before going and climbing up onto the table. Once up she walked over to the little basket of bread and pushed it over a bit closer to Elza so she could reach it.

"Careful of the door." The warforged warned as the half-monkey appeared behind him, hanging low enough that somebody entering the tavern could clock him with the door.
"And no you cannot. It belongs to that witch, Ravia. I am merely guarding it until she leaves this establishment." Gromit adds, shifting the orb and its box out of reach.
Ravia was busy doing something with her familliar, Gwenhwyfar turned to the barkeep hovering to the left. "Say Morgan... have you heard tales of any other moon elves coming though this way? Two older ones, traders?" Gwen asked finishing her elderflower water.
