Layla slowly opened her eyes as tears trickled down her cheeks. "Then why do I hear the screams and cries of my people because of what they were and what I am. What happened to them will never go away." She began to tremble.

"That's trauma. You can bandage up a leg wound but you can't bandage up an emotional one." There was Mara being blunt again. Sympathy wasn't her strong suit. "I'm sorry for what happened, but I'm not going to lie. It's going to take time to get over what happened. You'll get there eventually, but how long it takes is up to you."

"What happens if it does not go away then what do I live in fear for the rest of my life> I don't want to live in fear the rest of my life." Layla winced as she moved a little bit. Some of her wounds where older from when her own village was attacked others newer the older ones hurt more. She had never noticed until now. Her cheeks started to look a little flush.

"Again, that's up to you. You can either learn to cope and be happy or keep wallowing in misery and fear long after the fact." Mara said while fixing the last of her wounds before gathering up her supplies and standing up. "I don't know what 'your kind' is, or why you were all hunted, but I doubt the Chief would mind if you lived here. No one is going to hurt you here." she told her before going to put her things away.

"This is an entire village of people who can turn into animals. Try me." Mara said easily while coming back to plop down on the couch near Layla, folding her arms while smirking at her as though intrigued as to what could possibly be so unbelievable.

((@Aisley: I think Tanuki is well aware of who is what and is asking permission to be the Chief. xD I also realize you forgot to add a slot for the name in the male profiles.))
Mara didn't seem terribly phased by this revelation, simply unfolding her arms and shrugging. "Like I said, we're a race of people that can turn into animals. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if there were groups that could turn into rarer creatures as well."

Layla looked down still. She was not sure what else to tell her. "If I transform while I am here then the hunters will find me and everyone in this village might get hurt or even killed I could not let that happen to you guys." She clenched her fists in hatred of the human hunters.

Mara raised an eyebrow at her. "Do you not have control over when you transform? Anyway, don't be so quick to write us off as weak. We may not all be hunters, but that doesn't mean we can't fight back."

Ebony sighed as he shook his head leaning down next to the water and winced grabbing his shoulder. He was a bit annoyed that he always acted like a loner most of the time

 Marcus walked out of his hunt and wne t to find Mara when he did he was looking at some things he was holding "Hey Mara do you have any__" he stopped when he looked up seeing the girl "Oh an who might this be?" he asked and looked down at her

"Excuse me for a moment." Mara got up from her couch (her home was one big back room for her store, which could be peeked into from the shop) and went out to to talk to Marcus, kind of pushing him back a bit into the store area to give Layla her space. "I don't really know, to be honest. I haven't gotten her name yet. I just found her cowering in a tree and in bad condition. She said she's a rare three-tailed moon fox, or something like that. Hunters attacked her village and she's the only one to escape. She's pretty shaken up about it, for obvious reasons."
