Ryoko_H.S. [Obligatory Brackets] Victum Soul [Obligatory Brackets] Victum Soul [Obligatory Brackets] I have a conflict with my parents about fashion as well.
I'm a gothic lolita. Go google if if you don't know it... ^_^;;
Ignoring the title, the style does not have anything to do with child molestors or the book. Seriously. xd
But it took a long time before my mother stopped thinking I was bluffing... Gothic Lolita is a very deceiving term. Many people relate it, as you said, to child molesting and/or *****. I know it is not about that, and I think that style is cute. Hey? what's wrong with girls looking like cute girls??? That' why many of my girl friends that like that style refer to it as 'cyber goth'. Cyber goth, to me, brings up an ENTIRELY different image. And not a good one. xd I know, but average people don't understand what gothic lolita or cyber goth are. Just the second name sounds less 'agressive' to them. Gothic Lolita! Rawr! mad
*agressive*
I also like the Sweet Lolita look, but that's more expensive, and I don't have that kind of money... xD erm..sorry to butt in, but isn't cyber goth futuristic goth?(or something that deals with the future) Roughly, cybergoth pertains more to cyberculture than goth. The stereotypical mindset is usually the love of machinery and technological advancement in general. The clothing usually gives off more of a dark raver/cyberpunk look. Stereotypically with contrasting colors(usually darker colors with UV-reactive materials along the edges), with undercut hair and extensions made of artificial material, with lots of use of aviator goggles. The music listened to by cybergoths(stereotypically) is heavily electronic and not actual goth music. Usual subgenres include drum 'n' bass, IDM, EBM, darkwave, synth/futurepop, trance, hard dance, Goa/Psy trance, and sometimes industrial.
Hope that cleared things up, seeing as how I'm a cybergoth myself.

the-kick-in-the-throat look, back when i was a younger teen i thought i'd be cool and my own person by "gothing" out.but i figured somthing out about goth's in general.real goths/emo's are whiny,egotiscal,idiotic,close minded drones who are just as bad as the "jocks" or "preps" or whatever the hell else the cliqe's are these days.its all bullshit,the music,the clothes,the scene,the mind set is all crap.be yourself whe you find yourself DO NOT EMULATE SOMEONE YOU THINK LOOKS COOL BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY ARENT I have 4 things to ask you. 1. Who informs you of these things? 2. What if the poster in question disagrees with you on your opinions of said subjects? 3. Who are you to judge or question whether or not the poster in question is being him or herself by doing what they're doing? 4. Have you even heard gothic music?

alright... what to say? Well, I use to dress goth, but not so much anymore. I still wear my evenessence corset, the stuff from the renecance festival (if you can call it goth?) and all my old stuff, but my style has compelatly changed. I really have become a day to day person. one day I walk down the stairs and my mom will say how 80's I look, and the next I will walk down and she will say I look emo or goth.... however, I only own one pink shirt and it is actualy really cool because it was my mom's when she was 15 so I love it. I am usualy labeld as a mentaly insain child who is too happy to be goth or emo, but dresses like one most of the time (on the days Im not wearing bright green...)
as for my mother... well, I wear a uniform to school so she doens't really have to deal with it unless its a casuel day... and she tells me to lighten up on the black eyeshadow..... but she just doesn't like black eyeshadow.... DARK DARK PURPLE IS ALL COOL, BUT NOT BLACK!!! (never understood it.)
