((Sorry, that was my attempt at a time lapse. Lol. I assumed a few hours had passed since the time the dream began to the point of waking up. Just to make things clear. ^_^ Oh and there’s no magic involved in the transformation. It’s something to do with some enhanced jewellery he’s wearing.))

Saberlin shook his head at her query, shifting over to allow her more room on the edge of the mattress. He didn’t want his precious flower falling off. “Oh, it was nothing. Simply a very good dream, in which you happened to make an appearance” he chuckled softly, lifting a hand to trail claw tipped fingers through a lock of her silken, dark chocolate strands. Glancing towards the door furtively, he suddenly allowed an indulgent and very feline smirk to stretch across his features. It had been so long. Why not?

A pure soft white light filled the room for a heartbeat. Then there was a fully grown leopard stretched out beside Fern. Saberlin nudged into her hand gently, permitting the rumbling beginnings of a purr to thrum to life somewhere in the vicinity of his chest. He was careful to keep the sound to a minimum though. A leopard at maximum volume was likely to alert other guests.

The rumbling sounds deepeened, increasing in volume as leopard-Saberlin leaned into her touch, his whiskers splayed out with pleasure. Curling his long golden tail around, he draped it protectively yet lovingly over Fern. He was careful not to lean too much weight against her, well aware of how much he weighed in comparison to a human female and of her current condition.

It was such bliss, simply to be able to spend time together like this! Forget about work, let stress melt away... Saberlin put a paw out elegantly, splaying large, wicked-looking claws as he stretched. He was pondering in amusement over the reaction should anyone happen to discover them at this moment. The vibrations from his purring were travelling through the entire bed by this time and probably through Fern as well; an obvious sign of his happiness. "I'm so glad to have met you. You know, you're one of the very few people I can trust with just about all my secrets" he smiled, talking softly out of precaution.

Nudging her as she kissed his cheek, he gave a low growling sound that could be taken as laughter. "Be careful not to get fur on your tongue, my love. It wouldn't do to suffer a hairball" His tail twitched somewhat mischievously as he spoke, teasing her gently. He loved the sound of her laughter, her selfless kindness, her creativity. There were so many things he loved about Fern and one of them was her ability to see past what was on the outside and accept him, and others, for what they were. "I am truly blessed to be with someone like you" he admitted. He knew, no matter how hard he looked, he would never find another just like her in all the world. She was his beautiful flower.

As Saberlin was mulling over these affectionate observations, he suddenly felt a faint flutter of movement near his side. "Was that...are they moving?!" he asked incredulously as he lightly nosed her belly, a note of delight creeping into his voice.

His amber eyes gleamed as he listened to Fern’s giggling. Leopard-Saberlin twitched long white whiskers as he poked her again with his damp nose. “My apologies, am I tickling you?” he asked innocently, trying to hide a large grin. He wondered what it felt like for her when they moved. Like butterflies? Like gas? Hm, maybe not gas exactly. Saberlin couldn’t begin to imagine. The thundering sounds of purring faded a little as he lowered the volume so she could hear him speak. “What…what does it does it feel like? I mean…” How to ask such a question?

He blinked at her sudden mood change. "Oh Michi! What I can't treat my lovely wife to dinner?" Sighing a bit he shrugged. "Well if you don't want to go then we could head back and order room service. To me I really don't care, heh I'm just really hungry. It's..kinda my fault for skipping lunch today..." he blushed feeling awkward.

He had let her have the last of the food they packed for their trip today, so he had been hungry for quite some time. He figured it was a mood swing, usually he just did his best to flow with it.

Saberlin studied her closely as she answered, pale gold orbs reflecting both awe and curiosity. "Incredible. Simply amazing! And...they can kick your ribs from in there? It doesn't seem like there would be much room..." he murmured, beginning to purr more loudly again as he permitted another indulgent smile to cross his face. "You know, I can't wait to..." the joyful sentence trailed off. Raising his head as his sensitive ears caught the sounds of footsteps approaching their room, he froze perfectly still. There was a brief white glow just as, a few seconds later, someone knocked on the door with a message about room service and luggage.

Snuggled near Fern, now in his normal form, Saberlin let out a slow, shaky breath. Too close for comfort. Someone could have heard...and the door wasn't locked.

Climbing off the large bed, he kissed Fern lightly on the cheek by way of apology and went to investigate, opening the door. "Yes?" he politely enquired.

Outside stood two of the staff of the inn bearing a full suitcase rack in tow. Ah, of course, they had had to bring all the travel bags to their room. "Your luggage sir. Also, if you could sign here? Would you like breakfast to be brought the next morning..." Signing the few forms they presented, he helped to bring suitcases and bags into the room then firmly closed and locked the door, turning back to Fern. "That was a little close for my liking. I forgot about bringing the things from the car" He sighed, brushing stray spikes of flaxen gold from his face. "Oh, I almost forgot something else. Hold on" Pausing in his movements, Saberilin's tail swished as he headed over to one of the bags, fishing something out of the pockets. Walking over to Fern, he kept his expression blank. "Please hold out your hand"

He gently lifted her hand a little closer and brought his other hand forward to drop something cool, light and metallic into her outstretched palm. It glittered as it fell, the chain snaking into patterns. “I had a look at some of the shops on the way here. There was this store selling handmade jewellery and one of the pieces caught my interest. I thought of you when I saw it.” It was a fine chain of bright gold, hung with tiny golden fern leaves and in the centre a larger leaf, almost an exact replica of the delicate plant it was crafted after. Miniature, light green crystals studded the large fern leaf, adding a splash of extra colour to the necklace. “It’s not much really...just something pretty” he added, trying to hide the pink warmth spreading into his cheeks. His leopard ears twitched as he spoke. Saberlin was hoping she liked it.
