Miri was laughing hysterically at the wolves battling, the sergeant, the girl who fired the gun, the boy who knocked a girl out of the way of one of the wolves, and just becuase she hadn't laughed this good for seven years. Miri, who is currently 18, and poor and dirty from living as an orphan for most of her life so far, was laughing just becuase she hadn't been so close to humans ever since her parents died. She sighed happily, playing with the grass blades with her fingers.

Mishika stayed where she was, shifting uneasly in her still swapped shoes. She hadn't thrown her shoes because well, why would she want to upset a wolf that towered over her in size? Even though that was over, the thought still raced through her head as the massive wolves leapt at eachother in a fight; She cringed away. Trying to pull her attention away from the wolves, she tried to find something else to distract herself with, even though the only other thing that was really noticable at the time was a small group of people near her, two of which looked like twins, and the other a girl. She closed her eye's and listened to the argument, forcing hersle fot keep quiet since the sarg had punished her for talking to much, and then she reopened her eye's and stared out with a blank, almost bored expression.
At least she was so numb from the cold she couldn't even feel the cold anymore.

Jashua watched on in awe, she realized most people from the City and outlying areas would be absolutely terrified by the wolves fighting each other, but Jashua loved it. Not the fighting, they way they moved, the way they circled each other each seeking dominance, it was beautiful. Her terror at the possibility of an angry wolf had disappeared within her first few months at the academy, now she was nothing but exhilarated at the thought, especially considering how possible it was for her to have a bondmate of her own one of these days. She had completely forgot about the other wolves owner, and hadn't even realized when she had dropped her at attention position. Her almost-black eyes were completely hypnotized by the fighting wolves on the other side of the field. She couldn't help but being absorbed by memory.
'Wolves are special, Joshy. They always have been, even before all this happened. They have always been lithe and quick, vicious and dangerous, but most of all they've always been pack-creatures. I like that, the thought of relying on those around you for survival, and helping them survive at the same time. That's why I'm here Joshy, the pack mentality, for the good of all. But Joshy, don't forget the most improtant thing, wolves are predators. They have always been the top hunters and the most efficient killers, be careful your words and be careful your posture, or you just might find yourself dead.'
Jashua visibly flinched at the memory. Loche had still been in the academy when she'd reached bonding age, and they had studied together and discussed why they were there. His words had a habit of inspiring her to look past her flaws into what she could actually do for the world. But he was older then her by nearly four years. Loche had never gotten the chance to be part of the pack, he had never been chosen. At 22 he had been forced to leave the Academy, his mind to far developed to accept a bondmate. Jashua still used the memory of him for inspiration at times, and now was one of those times, 'Be careful your words, be careful your posture.' She thought to herself, then she realized she'd let her posture slack and immediately forced herself to tear her eyes away from the wolves and back to the Drill Sergeant and the young woman Sergeant that the others had been throwing shoes at earlier.

With a light smirk and an expression of enjoyment in her purple eyes, Keeva watched the scene before her. There was fighting among everyone, wolves and humans alike. She was used to human fights; there were quarrels every minute of every day on the street. It was the wolves' fight she was studying. They looked so fierce, but their bodies still glowed with grace, agility, and elegance. Keeva could almost hear the snarls turn to words, words of leadership and power.
Still trying to keep her eyes on the wolves, she leaned closer to an older, dark-haired girl who seemed deep in thought. "Interesting class, huh?" she murmured, tucking a piece of her long brown hair behind her ear.

Slightly startled as her unofficial companion suddenly whirled and struck another young man just like him, Kaela quickly turned her attention away, focusing instead on the two wolves circling each other in combat. Though she'd been frightened before by their sheer size and power, she had to admit that they were at the same time beautiful and awe-inspiring. If she could gain partnership with such a creature, what pride little Jakob would be able to take in his background, her past forgotten and insignificant.
Then the cold set in again, and she shivered, looking down at her bare toes. Mildly wondering how much more they could take, she shifted a few inches away from the boy beside her. Despite his friendliness earlier, a mask of fury had come over his face, frightening her yet again. She saw Aston's pale, sun-starved face in the white snow, right before he slapped her across the face. Flinching visibly away from the apparition, she shook her head and buried her face in her hands. How would she ever make it through...?

"..second floor consists of the rooms..The first floor consists of the classrooms..Training takes place.." Jamie's soft whispers to herself as she looked around halted as she came upon what she figured to be a training class taking place.
Having arrived noon the day before yesterday and gotten her belongings tidied up before that nightfall rather than carrying the task over to the allotted time she had for it this day along with orientation of the grounds, Jamie spontaneously decided, here and now, during the process of orienting to see if she could join the training session currently in progress while she was passing by today rather than starting tomorrow. She reasoned with herself optimistically within the moment she allotted herself for reasoning, that she could manage with the verbal overview she'd been given of the premises even if she hadn't physically visited all recruit-accessible areas yet.
She surveyed the scene as she approached. She had heard that military training was absolutely not to be thought of lightly and from the sights before her that she has yet to decipher, she concluded that she should brace herself as she felt it affirmed to the advice she kept in mind. Her steps were both steady and cautious, though in appearance they may be read as ambling with only Jamie's solemn expression revealing otherwise. Her behavior was adapting to her surroundings and circumstance, differing from her easier demeanor before joining the training. The snarling was to an extent familiar to the girl as she heard Cometfire and Starrywild do so many a time. However, what possibly contributed to her sturdiness in the close proximity to the snarling of a wolf and moreover, this being her first time this close to one, may be her fondness of them. The recruit held herself up but it was also humble strength.
The well-mannered side of her brought her to make her way to the front, also accompanied by the influence of her diligent nature. She had noted the state of her surroundings, still not having had made much progress in deciphering them, and among her observations was the sight she pondered on most of her fellow recruits being barefoot. She couldn't help a part of her feeling expectation and want to be chastised fittingly for her rude tardiness despite her expression remaining unchanged. Jamie kept focused, senses keen and intent on being prepared for the issuance of an order.

"Imagine all the pe~ople, living life in peace-" Alice was cut off in mid-song as a particular snarky Drill Sergeant called forth her attention. She gave a look of being thoroughly taken aback. "S'cuse me? Do I need something? I come here to sit in on your class, just to see what's happening on the flip-side 'round these parts, and you launch an assault on Flamehaze. Such treason should be dealt with by severe punishment, hence my retaliation." She pouted giving his chest a couple hard pokes, which more or less probably felt like a tap to Adrian, considering Alice's stature.
"And f-y-i, I did need not leave Haze behind, he chose to stay. There's a difference." the girl claimed, crossing her arms over her chest defiantly. "Besides, he has more sense not to persue in frivolous attacks." She shot a warning glare to the few sniggering Recruits, reminding them she still had a pistol in hand. "Oi! None 'o you lot try to back-sas this geezer." Alice indicated to Adrian with a tilt of her head. "Sarge here has been around since the beginning of time and knows every trick in the book." the young Sergeant advised giving a toothy grin as she peered at Adrian from the corner of her eye. "Now," she directed her words towards the older male. "Tell me you're actually going to give these Recruits a real training lesson, or are you slipping in your game this year...?"
Haze hadn't fully expected the elder Beta to turn on him, though he was sure he had vaguely considered this outcome right before he jumped to Alice's defense. He wasn't quite sure how his rider had ended up on the other side of the field so quickly, but that wasn't his problem now. A menacing snarl left Haze's throat as Nightwing shot froward in warning, but he refrained from flinching or even pulling away. Honestly, the things I do for you, Alice...
You could've let him torn into me. Probably had it comin' anyway. It's not worth risking your own hide.
Most likely, however, seeing your blood spilled on the ground once already this week is enough for me...
True, true. Just think of it as payback for nearly breaking my skull on that rock. A chuckle accompanied the Sergeant's voice.
Haze snorted, eyes never once leaving the dark violet wolf that circled him. Next time I won't be so quick to defend you when you decide to throw a rock at another wolf.
Fine by me.
Haze stood still as his red-orange eyes narrowed slightly towards Nightwing. Although he remained to stare down the older Beta, he had stopped pacing so that it was just the violet wolf that was stalking in a circle around him. His ears flicked back slightly at the chortles coming from the Recruits who obviously thought the idea of two wolves about to be engaged in battle was amusing. With an irritable sigh, Flamehaze directed his thoughts back to the older wolf. I do apologize for my rider's idiocy, but having her shredded into pieces is not on my agenda today. He stated, fixing a stone-cold glare onto Nightwing that implied he had better things to be doing than staring down a wolf 15 years his senior. Honestly, I'm not in the mood to resort to brawling like a pup just because you had a pebble thrown at you. Now, Nightwing could either take Haze's words as an insult and attack him anyway or get the impression that he was acting foolish and let the whole thing drop. Haze had a sinking feeling it would be the first possibility.
However, his stance did not change, showing the other that he wasn't just merely backing down. Haze detested fighting with another wolf above all else, but he wasn't about to appear weak to the male that probably still viewed him as the same gruffy pup from two years ago.

Adrian raised an eyebrow as she reached forward and poked him in the chest, which didn't bother him so much as it did amuse him. He simply smirked lightly, contemplating whether he pat her on the back for drilling some fear into the recruits or slap her over the head for being stupid enough to provoke another wolf. "You should know better than to retaliate by aiming for a wolf. No rider has full control over their wolves, although honestly, I could care less had Nightwing given you a good swipe in the head."
A few shouts and even laughter could be heard coming from the rowdy group, who seemed rather unconcerned about the fact that they had narrowly missed being seriously injured by a wolf. Adrian turned his head sharply towards them in time to see one twin punch the other - not that he cared, that was how boys settled their affairs. With a scoff at the girl who asked him about frostbite, he replied shortly, "Depends. Would you rather freeze or burn to death?"
Turning back to Alice at her words, Adrian smiled deviously. She had only been at the academy for two months, but that was enough to let anyone have a taste of recruit life. And since she was so determined... he gestured towards the recruits. "I think I'll let you take this one. Why don't you show them how things are really done around here, Sergeant?"
Nightwing paused as he found himself facing the large group of humans, ears flickering slightly as they caught the sounds of stupidity. He had half a mind to run over there and knock all the recruits down simply for being annoying, and to give them something to really worry about. But at the moment, he had wolfish affairs to attend to first.
I do not intend to tear her into shreds, but she would not have left unscathed, Nightwing responded with a soft snap of his teeth, eyes averting to the misbehaving woman before settling back onto Haze. Some wolves had become far too accustomed to human traditions, but not he. Nightwing still had his wild instincts and understood that wolves did not settle matters by talking. Do not patronize me, pup. No wolf should allow a human to get away with recklessly attacking a wolf, and you would do well to learn that.
Head held high, Nightwing continued to stare down the younger male in annoyance. He was in a rather philosophical mood today, a rarity for sure, and he chose to lecture instead of attacking. But he held truth to his words, for humans were meant to respect wolves - and attacking a wolf in any way held consequences. It was Haze's own fault he had missed out on punishing the recruits that had thrown the shoes at him, but Nightwing would rectify that soon. The recruits were next on the list.

Though she kept her aim of keeping alert, Jamie allowed herself to observe the two wolves intently.
The night before, the recruit had gone and open her text and commenced her study. Jamie had been eager to learn more about wolves for wanting to understand them better. She also imagined that a wolfrider and their partner wolf would certainly have an understanding between them and as an aspiring wolfrider, she felt that the information of interest before her was a step toward and training for interacting more closely with one's partner wolf. Thus, puzzle pieces seemed to come together in her mind at this time as she made connections.
Jamie also noticed the female wolfrider's actions toward the male wolfrider, one observation being her jabbing at him with her finger. It then occurred to her that both interactions, between the two wolfriders and between the wolves, may be related, not entirely separate in affairs. Jamie's mind was working in connecting her reading to her observations. The recruit also felt impressed as well as she continued to analyze. She figured that even as she watched, there was telepathic exchange going on between partners and communication between the wolves and just as described in the text, she felt affirmation of the 'a certain depth of understanding between partners and between wolves only with the special case being seers' phrase.
The black and purple wolf was the one of higher rank she noted as she compared the scene with the text she read further. The other wolf, though of the lower rank, shows respect but not weakness by not snarling as well and by not cowering, the recruit put forth her effort to understand.
Alice's remark and the catch of the sight of the wolves' flickering ears as though sent a signal to her, the recruit decidedly tensing her muscles despite there being no other change to her posture for want of being wary, keeping herself ready and deciding to be more watchful while aiming for composure. Despite keeping her braced and firm stance, Jamie's focused expression was free of confrontational intent.
The option of removing her shoes then came to her, the recruit taking them off then tossing them out of the way, feeling that if she chose to keep them on she'd be distancing herself and that went against what she learned because wolfriders were heralded as extraordinary teams and this..was training. Jamie returned to her stance also putting effort in distancing herself from the cold.

Hachi got ready, the same as any other day - except today would be her first day at The Academy. She was nervous, although quite ready to undertake such a privilege to learn what her grandfather and parents had and to hopefully become a wolf rider herself. She wanted this so bad.. her heart started beating faster until she decided she had best go introduce herself before she was marked late.
She turned the corner and headed toward a group of recruits the same as her.. they were doing some sort of exercise unknown to her. At first she watched silently and then she snapped out of it and headed toward, what looked to be, the instructor.
Her introduction was short and sweet - "I'm Hachiko Tsuchiya, a new recruit ready for instruction." She smiled, hoping to make a great first impression. The current atmosphere seemed a bit harsh, but she waited for conformation.

Chehero pondered over the question, was it fair for him to answer her question with another question of his own? Defiantly not, but then again what could she do. The drill sergeant seemed a little tied up with the younger sergeant. Debating weather she was going to be able to fit her conversation in that she would rather die from the cold than the unbending heat. Electric pink eyes shifting to the twins, raising her eyes at the scuffle they were forming.
Chehero wasn't paying any attention to the newer students that had come into class as she had just over heard the drill sergeant offer the class over to the younger one. This time Chehero couldn't help but speak up. "What!? Now we have someone our age teaching this class, sir, are you mad?" Shifting her feet in the snow Chehero was now pleased that all feeling had left them though now her legs were burning from the cold.

Spaz staggered on his feet as his twin brothers fist collided with the bottom of his jaw. Standing there blinking for a few seconds he glared back at his brother making a sound at the back of his throat he spit out a large lump of green clear and red liquid. Pausing for a moment to spit out some more blood. He had accidently bit the inside of his lip when he had been punched. Whipping his mouth with the back of his left hand Spaz stood up still grinning.
"Pretty stupid I guess cause your on." Leaping forward towards Dave, Spaz quickly aimed a well formed punch to Dave's stomach. Raising his knee a few seconds after so that once his brother doubled over he would inevitably collide with his knee. Spaz was paying very little to no attention to the group or the drill master.

Miri looked at the girl with the pistol and at the drill sergeant. One moment, they were arguing, next, they were somewhat joking around. Seriously, how weird could people get? She rolled her eyes and laid back into the grass that was now somewhat wet grass. Thinking about the drill sergeant's words from before, she thought about the ferocity of the wolves, and for no reason, if it would be better to freeze or burn to death. She chose freeze after a while, because you couldn't feel the pain, only the coldness. But both were unpleasant ways to die, and, like most other humans and probably other creatures, she didn't want to die. She crawled over to Chehero and whispered "I don't think it's a good idea to call them mad. They might kill you... did you see what the wolf did? And the girl has a gun!" Then, speaking out loud, she said "Excuse me sir, and ma'am, but are we going to be actually doing anything?"

Dave grunted as the punch landed square in his stomach a little bit of saliva ran from the corner of his mouth. Painfully aware that Spaz was raising his knee, a regular performace Dave had fallen for on more than one occasion she was prepared this time. Flashing a grin at Kaela and friendly wink, Dave managed to avoide a second attack from Spazes knee. Side stepping Dave was counting on his strength and speed, which happened to be much better than his twins seeing as he worked all day while his brother ran about pulling various pranks.
Dave couldn't help but feel he was showing off even if it was just a little, spinning while swinging his leg out he was hopping to catch his brother off gaurd forcing him to the ground. Once there they both would know that Dave would win their little scuffle, after all this was a new move how effective could it really be?

Spaz lowered his leg completely off gaurd that Dave had learned from the previous fights and avoided his 'well planned' knee. Watching his brother in a way to predict his next move he ended up following his gaze back to the small girl. Rolling his eyes he didn't notice as Dave managed to knock him off his feet. Twisting as he fell he managed to grab Dave's collar and drag him down as he fell. Laughing that he had managed this task it wasn't long before the scuffle mingled in a furry of flying fists, a hidden truce between them that anything bellow the waist line was not only off limits but fowl play.
