xOMGitsMeLaNiEx Racism is completely ridiculous. Why would you judge someone on the color of their skin? But I do admit, sometimes it's hard not to. In my school, there are a bunch of black people, and they act like walking stereotypes! Not all of them, but most of them. It's just plain sad.
And I really dont understand how its fair that if a white person calls a black person the "N" word, it's called racist But a black person can call a white person WHATEVER THEY WANT, but its NEVER considered racist.
Everything now with black people and white people seems like some grudge from what happened so long ago. It didnt even happen to our generation! Go ahead and learn all about your history, but GET OVER IT! It wasnt even you! And it wasnt OUR fault!
(No offence to anyone) It's not true that they can call white people whetever they want. I was the "white kid" in my neighborhood when I was younger and a kid called me a cracker. This kid got expelled but, it wasn't just that. He'd been bothering me for a while so, there are cases where they are reprimanded. It all depends on the place, time, etc

Wow, I see there isn't much dispute over this topic. ^^; lol
But, racism is always going to be around.
I mean, take the tea parties, for instance. Most of them don't know the first thing about taxes. They're just there to yell at the black man in the White House. rolleyes
Let the flames begin.

{copied from my post in another guild}
I don't know about the school you went to but in my school there were several clubs exclusive to a certain race.
There was: B.S.U. - the black student union L.S.U. - Latino student union A.S.U. - Asian student union
Anyone see the problem?
There is no W.S.U. - white student union...and I'm willing to bet that if there was the school would be sued for racism.
The point is why is it only racist when the person/people/group of people being discriminated against is a minority?

It'll go on and on until humanity's existance is cleared out. People rant on about it's wrong to be called 'black' 'white' 'brown?' and one called 'yellow'??? (Don't ask. I don't know either) Either way, no matter where you live SOMEONE would be racist toward anyone different. Racist retards will alway be here, you know? I see them all the time, but thankfully I don't get hurt...

i think that racism will never go away. People will work towards that goal but I don't think that it will ever be reached. I think it's wrong to say that if something of yours is stolen that a black person took it because there are plenty of good "black" people out there. Today i think that people may look down on another race not because of their race but maybe because they live up to what everybody says. There is a group of "black" people at my school that are always getting in trouble and when you say something to them they blame it on racism and that you can't accuse them of anything but then you have the people who are black but are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

From someone who has lived in several different places, being dominatly "black", then ive lived in one that was dominatly "white" and from all of my expriences i can sadly say yes that racisim does exist and still very much lively even to this day. All through elementary, middle, and highschool, i was the only white kid in the classes, and everytime certain subjects came up i.e. black history month and what not people would always judge me on those subjects assuming i was part of it. another situation in which was uncomfortable for me was when we were learning about the holocaust, i have a german last name, and since the holocaust is a little more recent then the slavery, it was another thing that i was bashed on about. 10-15 years later here i am in the army, and there is still racists here where ever i turn. its sad that it has come this far to even penetrate the military.

MissAnnoyingPants I know that there are still racist people. I have a friend who's great and fun to be around, but whenever something of hers gets stolen, she usually blames it on blacks or mexicans. She even still uses the N word... stare My other friend thinks that it's totally unfair that it's no longer politically correct to call black people black. They're called African Americans now. He says that it's not fair that we can't call them black, but they still call us white. Which I can kind of agree on. I know on tv, one of the things that really ticks me off is when the black person does something wrong or doesn't pay for something... Then when the white person goes up to them to ask for payment or whatever. The black person just goes, "You're just picking on me because I'm black" No, it's not because you're black. It's because you've done something wrong... But society has definately changed. It's a good thing that black and white people don't have their own separate sections anymore. And now there's almost no discrimination against any race... =) i know that there is still rasist people my freind is rasist

It's something that always was, and always will be. Maybe not the same targets, just hate under a different name. Humans just naturally have to have somebody or something to harass. And, it's taught from birth most of the time. It's almost understandable when it's an environmental issue, but when we insist that our children feel the same way without teaching them to think about why, and how they feel about it, it's just not going to get fixed real fast.

Racisim definitly still exsists. My great-grandma is a racist. I really don't care if you call me white so why should you care if I call you black? It doesn't matter to me. Don't get me wrong, I hate racisim. I just don't get why african-americans get so offended to be called black. It doesn't matter. It's just a color.
