Layna smiled, and went to check on her son. He still slept lightly, a stuffed bear in his arms. She sighed softly, and lifted her son with ease from the crib. She knew that she should feel his weight, but she didn't, not after that incident in the subway. Everything was light as a feather, and she was as careful as ever. "I'll have to speak with him again....soon." She murmured, rocking her son as she headed back into the living room. "She'll sleep once she's fed, and you can lay her down in Gabe's crib if you want. Then you can shower. You can dig through my dresser if you want to find something clean to wear."

Julian sighed with a smile and said, "I don't know how I can thank you Layna, all of this." She shook her head, "It was never this easy for me, never." Soon, her daughter stopped feeding and fell asleep. Julian looked down and smiled, she then spoke softly, "What should I name you?....Hmmm how about, Isabella." A small burp was the answer in the baby's sleep as she starts to suck on her thumb.

"I didn't have it so easy either, so why should I let others have to deal with the badness?" Layna said, laughing softly. She smiled at the name. "She'll grow into it. She'll be very pretty when she's older."

"Yes, and as I hope, she'll have her father's blue eyes." Julian said with a smile, and then yawned. Her eyes started to get heavy, "Looks like I'm tired, but I don't want to leave her side."

"Go sleep then. The spare bedroom is all yours." Layna said with a smile. "It's empty, and has been....for a while now." She said. "I'll set some clothes on your bed, and you can change and sleep, alright?"

Julian nodded her head, "Yes, thank you." Smiling and holding Isabella in her arms, she goes and finds the spare room and walks it it. Tired, she lays down on the bed and lays her daughter by her side, and soon her eyes shut and she fell asleep.

Layna smiled as they woman disappeared to lay down with her newly born child. "New life...There's nothing sweeter than that." She murmured, looking down at her own child. His fair shone in the lamplight, and she was struck by the fact that she missed his father so much. She missed Razu as well.
Slowly, she curled herself upon the couch, her arms wrapped safely around her son. Her body felt exhausted, as did her mind. She hadn't slept well since Ceon's death, only in brief increments of terrifying nightmares that made her scream. She closed her eyes, willing something else besides the darkness.
Sleep came swiftly to her tired mind, but she did not expect for the warmth to remain. It felt like arms wrapped around her, a comforting familiar feeling sweeping through her. "Unh..." A flash of white, a chuckling voice that left her ears ring. "Ceon..." Tears flooded behind her eyes at the mere memory of him.
"What's wrong?" Came the sweet voice, just like she remembered. "Why are you crying?" She felt the pressure of hands grasping hers. "Ceon..." She reached out and hugged the figure in her dreams, tears falling down her face. "You're back...You're here." She whispered. The figure did not answer her, and she wondered why. But she stayed there, not speaking, allowing her tears to run dry, and the warmth around her to liquify her senses, before she pulled back to look at the face of her murdered husband.
Her eyes snapped open, and she shot up, her eyes wide as she looked around her. "Ceon..." She whispered, clutching her son close to her, fresh tears flowing down her cheeks.

Duke had moved to the top of the dresser in Layna's room and fallen asleep. Now he jerked awake and looked down at Layna. He flew down to her and told her,'Razu's in his apartment.'

Wiping the tears from her eyes, she looked to Duke with a sad gaze. "I-I'd....like to see him..." She whispered softly. She slowly stood, her son wiggling in her grasp as he struggled to get comfortable. She walked out of her room, toward Gabriel's crib, and set him in it. He curled up around his teddybear once more, and was soon back to sleep. She turned her attention to the hawk. "Will you show me the way, Duke?" She asked softly, her voice barely raising in pitch from a whisper.

Duke tipped his head consent. He flew to the door and waited for Layna.

Layna followed the bird, not caring much that she was still in her pajamas, or that she was barefoot. Just the thought of being anywhere near someone who cared about left her warm inside. Razu had given her that. Opening the door to allow Duke to fly through, she closed her eyes minutely and sighed, her heart giving a strange twist.

Duke took off again flying to Razu's apartment which wasn't far from Layna's at all.

Layna was quick to follow the bird, her eyes filling slightly with unwanted tears as she ran.

Julian woke up with a long yawn and then heard crying, she looked to find her daughter Isabella, or Izzy for short, laying by her side. She smiled and then picked her daughter up and started to nurse her, soon she quieted down and drank. Putting a bigger smile on Julian's face. She then got up and walked around the guest room.

Julian then took Izzy to change her clothes and did the same with her. She then went by the bed and laid down, with her baby daughter by her side. Making sure she was safe. She smiled as she fell asleep, humming a song to her child.
