Korbin jumped back as the body moved, obviously surprised. Kiani's reaction, on the other hand, caused Korbin to fall over laughing. With a scream rivaling the dead body's, she had jumped backwards, tripping over a rock and falling to her but. She scrambled backwards for several feet before trying to get back on her feet, glaring at the wooper that was still laughing at her. "Korbin! It's not that funny. I thought it was dead." Kiani said, looking around for a stick. She found one, albeit a short stick, and crept closer to the body. Curiosity killed the cat, and Kiani was a curious one. Korbin followed her slowly, finally, Kiani poked it with a stick, jumped back, and ran a few paces away. When it didn't follow, she decided that it wasn't going to hurt her and continued on her way.
A Litleo sunned herself on a rock, half-asleep. She wasn't too much worry to Kiani or Korbin, too busy in the land of dreams. She glanced to the human pair with mild interest-- more and more humans were coming to this land, and she wasn't quite sure what to do with that.

The Phanpy stuck out his tongue-- the icy ghost had hit the rock, not himself. >Nah, nah, naaaaaah,< he tease beforescooping up a rock and blowing cool air on it. He froze the stone into his own twist on the Ice Shard before launching it right at the Gastly!

She was already wary of Tauros given her first encounter with the beasts, but this one seemed a bit more placid to Alice. Still, she was careful to edge around the creature as she got a good look at the stone. It looked like a Moss Rock-- a thing she'd seen in the pictures of textbooks back at the lab. Carefully, she raised her camera and snapped a picture. Which meant, she supposed, she completed the mission.
But what to do now? The little robot girl bite her lip, debating. She could go back... this weather WAS miserable... but as she looked over the fields, she felt a familiar sense of insatiable curiosity. The same urge that told her to lie down in the fairy ring overtook her once more. "Vorpal, you okay if we... keep going?" She was the trainer, but it was polite to ask.
The Honedge sighed, but nodded his hilt. He was curious himself, and if that's what she wanted, he'd be at her side.
Alice grinned, and patted her partner. Practically skipping, she took off through the field.

Kiani halted as she saw the litleo sunning herself on a rock, almost napping. Reminded of both Balrog and Nero, Kiani was very tempted to battle and catch the litleo. However, she knew Korbin wasn't in great shape. Instead, maybe she could persuade this little lion to join her team. But how would she do it, all she had was an oran berry and she wouldn't be able to understand anything that the litleo said. Turning to Korbin, she knelt down to his level. Sure, she couldn't understand him either, but he could still nod or shake his head. "What do you think, should we ask her to join our team?" Kiani said. Korbin looked at the litleo for a moment, tilted his head to the side, and finally nodded. Now, all that there was to do, was figure out how to convince her.
((Is it possible to persuade the pokemon to join the team? I can't recall.))
The downside of skipping through the rain soaked meadow was that it allowed the girl to be spotted easily from a distance. Alice was about to have a chance encounter few students got to have, and fewer survived; but if she ever attempted to tell the tale to another, they'd tell her it was a bit....Farfetch'd.
Striding through the grass at an even pace, a thick billed duck standing on two legs would present itself before her. Resting against one shoulder much like a warrior would shoulder their sword, was a massive green leek. The Pokemon's eye's glinted faintly as he snapped his beak in an approximation of a smirk. ">Saw you're the one's causing the ruckus eh? N' here ah thought it was Lambo sterin' up the Unseelie again<" The bird said, clucking his tongue as he gave a brisk shake of his head. ">'M sawrry, but ya journey ends here. Can't have ya sterin' the pot when good 'onest folks tryin' ta go 'bout their business in peace<" The Farfetch'd said, shrugging as lightning struck a few feet off from their location ">Well, what peace we got anyhah.<"
Rolling his shoulder the Pokemon would thrust his leek forward as he called his challenge ">Ah'm the Guardian round here, nah put up what dukes ya got 'n lets settle this!<" The message was clear enough, Alice was in for a fight!
As fate would have it Sybelle missed by a mile, and as her body reformed she was forced to immediately disperse in an attempt to avoid the Phanpy's oncoming blow!

In the Garden of Monsters
Hiro would hit the ground on his shoulder as he would roll over with the push of one hand, and twist so that he is turned facing the blast. His eyes narrowed, he waited to see if anything would come from the midst of that blast.
He is the world's greatest trainer, and so, he knew that a explosion generally meant the end of a pokemon, but not always. Thus, he waited until he sure there was nothing coming to try and stand up.
The pain had his leg buckle on him as he went from trying to stand up to sitting down on the hard ground. A move that jarred injuries he was just now discovering as the pain flared from the back of his right leg up the right side of his back.
He hadn't escaped unscathed as he would draw his leg in front of him. He could feel the pain from the underside, and slowly he would run his fingers over the wounded area. Drawing his hand back, he found no blood ....so it didn't pierce his skin, but it hurt badly enough that he knew he was bruises good and he imagined his back wasn't much better.
This wasn't enough to stop him, but it would slow him down.
Hiro sat there, and waited until the pain had lessen enough to let him stand. He would get up and with a slight limp would leave the area. He was glad that he was one of those type of trainers who didn't travel with their pokemon out all the time.
The Litleo yawned, but couldn't help noticing the human and its pet were still around. He raised her head and rolled onto her stomach, watching curiously. Still, she didn't have much of a reason to get up.
((It is. It's not always easy, but in this case, it's possible.))

Alice could only wait and watch the Farfetch'd. She couldn't understand, but the message was clear-- time to battle. And it looked strong... she wanted to use Vorpal, but he only had a ghost type move. She stared at the new Pokeball in her hand... "All right, time to go, Maddie.".
>I have a name?< The Blitzle remarked, surprised, but was quickly distracted by her new opponent. >Hi!< she squeaked happily, stared holes into the Farfetch'd. >Are we fighting? Alrighty! FIGHTING!<
Alice blinked. "Maddie, wa--"
Without waiting, the Blitzle darted forward in a Quick Attack!

The Ice Shard missed the gas ball by an inch, and the little Phanpy frowned. Stomping his feet, he glared up at the Gastly. >'Snot fair! That's cheating!< he yelled as he once again dove behind a rock.
Broken but not beaten, Hiro would arrive at the mouth of a cave... his next goal.
Sweltering Cave
Further in and further down. Only an idiot would think going into a deep, dark cave that seems to crackle with heat and energy was a good idea. Unfortunately, you don’t seem to have much of a choice anymore. The only light comes from the strange glowing rocks that spark when you get too close to them. And the temperature feels like it’s rising. Be care, stick to the sides, and keep your head up.
">All's fair in love and war!<" The Gastly called out as she pulled her body back together ">and I'm not asking you out to dinner! Mwehehehe~!<" Floating through the air and Gastly would once more solidify herself, her icy exterior hurtling towards the Phanpy as one giant frozen fist! An Ice Punch by any other name~!

">Quick on ta draw eh? Well this 'ere beak is fir more than flappin'!<" The Farfetch'd called in response, bolting forward. Leaving his leek shoulders, the Pokemon would spread his other wind, putting his webbed feet to good use in this wet terrain as he lunged face first. Seemed he was starting this fight off with a Peck!
