Kaleb snorted. "Clearly." he confirmed. "I'm surprised you have the guts to. Most don't make dog jokes about weres, let alone about the former King." He shook his head. "You have guts."

"No I don't I'm a coward the only reason I make dogs jokes is because it makes it easier to cope with the fact that my boyfriend is a werewolf and I guess Devon only lets me get away with because if I couldn't make those jokes then I would be still scared of him." Lark admitted shamefully

Kaleb looked away thinking. "Yet... here you are, taking to me calmly. As you have to the few weres you have met." he pointed out. "You may be scaried, but you're not shaking or cowering are you?" He turned his gaze back to her. "And you are not scared of him. You can't trust someone if you are scared of them. I'm guessing it's everything that happened to you and everything you thing might happen that scares you, isn't it?"

Lark sighed. " Or I could be so clam talking to you because I heard that wolves can sense fear and they act on it and because your in my room while I am ill so if you do decide to hurt me there won't be a fight from me and I only met a hand full of weres including Devon and two understand, one wanted to kill and the other one loves me. Yes that is true and the only reason I am not scared of Devon anymore because I see that both him and his wolf are one in the same and both love me like I love them."

Kaleb nodded. "I'm not a total animal, Young Lady. I know when, where and what to chase. I won't harm you." he assured her. "I just need to get to know my son's girlfriend." "You have a right to fear those who wish harm, but you are protected. Have you met the pack yet?"

"I know its just that you seem more..please don't take offense but you seem wilder than Devon and I believe that you wouldn't but for me it might be better to be safe than sorry." Lark stated leaning on her pillows drinking her soup. "No I haven't I think Devon is using Bo and Sheryl as therapists or he may just be easing me into the pack so i'm not overwhelmed with my fear of strange wolves." Lark shrugged at that like it wasn't a big deal but it was just the though of begin in room with a group of wolves that she didn't know set her heart racing. "So you said you wanted to get to know me what else do you need to know?"

Kaleb nodded. "Not surprising. I've been living with just my wife up in Alaska free to do as I please.... when she lets me." he said with an actual chuckle. "You know, perhaps there is more I can learn about you, but there I a few things that you might learn from me. For one, you are now Alpha female. Pretty much queen. Devon hold power over them, actual tangible power, and you have some of that though the bond. Most wolves HAVE to obey you, should you command them. You shouldn't need to fear them."

"Me a queen are you pulling my chain?" Lark said in disbelief. "I'm not a wolf I can't command anyone not that I would want to Devon and his pack should be free to make their own decisions not be tied down to me and I know I shouldn't fear them but I do and I can't help it so if I fear them there is no way I can rule them even if I was a wolf.

Kaleb looked unphased. "Yes. You are. Human or wolf, it's the same." He cracked his knuckles absently. "And being there leader doesn't mean stealing their free will. But people need to be lead. Just as a general commands his men... though not quite the same." Kaleb closed his eyes thinking deeply. "You can't live in fear forever. One did, you'll have to act despite being afraid. Courage isn't being fearless. It's acting no matter what you feel. And you should learn the difference between the good guys and the bad. If Devon trusts his pack, you should too."

"Well some general I am I'm out numbered and out muscled by my own 'troop'" Lark replied with self hatred aimed at her self then she flinched in fear back when Kaleb began cracking his knuckles . "That's easier said than done i'm afraid." Lark said

Kaleb shook his head. She was stubborn when it came to how inadequate she was. What an odd girl. "Well, of course. Since when is anything worth doing easy?" he chuckled and stood. "I'll leave you to rest. Devon will be back soon anyway."

Lark nodded still not wanting to believe that she was now an alpha female and why would he come in a drop all this on her it's not like she was used to to this world yet now she was just plain overwhelmed. she closed her eyes as the sound of the front door opening

It was not long before Devon returned. His mother was right behind him. With a nod to his mother he went to Lark room, making a short stop only to put away his keys and things. "Hey, you awake?" he called, peeking in at her.
