Alice shrugged, but realized he couldn't see it. "I'm terrible at holding grudges." She said, smiling. "Also, as cruel as you can be, you seem like a decent person. I mean, it could be worse, but I've enjoyed this. As insane as it sounds..." Alice laughed then. "If it makes you feel better, I could start scratching at the walls and cursing your name as I scream and thrash about the floor..."

He smiled. "That would be fun to see. Does a deal sound in taste? I don't fight Edward for so long if you put on that little show, and make him think I am that cruel worse person you described?"

Alice giggled. "Well, if you'd warn me ahead of time, sure. So, if it's a deal, what do I get out of it?" She wasn't sure what she wanted, but she had a pretty good idea.

Lanius lifted one eyebrow, thinking about it. Well, I have locked all the doors of this place... same with all the windows, and there are people standing guard... "Fine, best it be convincing. When he get's here, if I hurt you a little just to get to your dear Edward, please to not be suprized." He stood up and opened the door. Besides, she can't fight.

Alice stood, brushing off her skirt and stepping from the room. It was brighter outsde than inside the room, but her eyes soon adjusted. "I understand." She said. "But thank you." Besides, much like inside the room, she sat down upon the floor, turned to she could see Lanius. "Do you read anything else besides romance?" She was obviously making no attempts to attack or escape, just wanting to sit there and talk like before.

He closed the door, then leaned against it facing her. "Yes, actually. Murder mysteries, historical documents, novels and such. So Alice, what about you?"

Alice thought for a second. "Well, fiction mostly like Alice in Wonderland or The Brother's Grimm, but historical romances are what I usually read. Oh, William Shakespeare's works too."

Lanius tilted his head, "Alice in Wonderland use to be a favorite of mine when I was a boy. What all things might I ask, did you enjoy when you were a child?"

"Alright." Alice said. "I spent most my time reading, outside, or practicing my violin. Whenever it started raining, I'd sneak outside and even if it wasn't, I'd just go out and fall asleep underneath the stars. Have you ever walked through the rain? It's comforting." She smiled. "After reading Alice in Wonderland, my mother dressed me up like Alice and we had a Mad Tea Party." Tilting her head up at him, she asked, "What about you?"

"That... sounds very nice." He said in a softer tone. After a moment of thought, Lanius responded, "My parents died when I was younger, soon after I was sent to live with my uncle. In my spare time, I would study music, read, write, and things such as that. Actually, the entire reason I joined the Red Cross was in debt to him, because he wished for me to do so."
